I have been going to Mary for the past 10 years or so for my eyebrows, as well as makeup when needed for special events (such as my wedding). When I moved to Lansing about 6 years ago, I knew driving back to Charisma to see Mary wouldn’t be very convenient, so I began to search for someone else in the Lansing area. Much to my dismay, after trying out many different stylists to wax my eyebrows, I could not find anyone nearly remotely as close to being as talented as Mary! So I began making the just-over-an-hour drive to Charisma to have her do my eyebrows again. Not only is she awesome at making a perfect arch and conforming my eyebrows to my face shape, she is extremely thorough and I notice I am able to go longer in between eyebrow waxes. Naturally, I had her do my makeup for my wedding, and of course I was not disappointed. I received so many compliments and I felt so confident and beautiful. Mary truly has natural artistic talent, and I would highly recommend her for eyebrows and/or makeup. My only complaint is that I wish she worked closer to the Lansing area so I didn’t have to make the hourly drive to see her!

I recently visited Charisma and had appointment with Stephanie D. I am a perpetual dark hair box dye user. My hair was feeling helpless and dried out. I also tried to trim it myself, which ended in disaster. Needless to say Im sure I looked crazy by the time I arrived at the salon. Stephanie is a miracle worker. She took my too dark hair and added highlights, trimmed the ends and made them even, added a protein treatment, and gave me some side swept bangs. I cannot describe how amazing the transformation was. The color is beautiful, and I cannot have imagined my hair going from very dark to a such an amazing, caramel blonde ombre, Im incredibly grateful, she is a very talented person. This was my first time working with Stephanie, so impressed. The front desk staff is also very courteous, and professional. I spent about $200, not including tip, and it was worth every penny. This is a clean, friendly salon with a great staff. Also, the boyfriend cant keep his hands off me. Winning,

Wouldnt recommend it for a bridal party. We went here for a bridal party. The hair turned out OK - but it wasnt a great experience. One hairdresser was 1/2 hour late starting on one of the girls... another took 20 minutes past when we were suppose to be done (the bridesmaid wasnt a crazy picky girl, and it wasnt the one that started late). My favorite - the woman who had the audacity to argue with the bride about how the mother-of-the-bride should look. (Neither the bride or mother of the bride were being crazy, just not wanting poofy thing sticking up from the top of the moms head). Then to top it off - they dont charge tips to credit cards, or take out of state checks for the tips... Overall, the hair was OK, but for that price, we could have gone to a nicer place.

First visit haircut was not exactly what I had wanted, seemed to be a communication miss with the stylist. Called a week later and expressed i was not happy with the cut, booked what they called a "re-cut". The re-cut was much worse than the first, and they charged me full price for it! So I spent $100 over 2 weeks and my hair looks awful, looks like I have a $30 cut from BoRics. From a place that markets as an upscale salon, they are not. They charge extra to dry your hair after a color, they wont even let you add your gratuity on your credit charge. I will not be going back here. The stylist was professional and friendly and appeared to be putting in a lot of effort during the cut yet lacked stylistic vision and the result was a very poor looking cut.

Ive been going to charisma salon for over a year for my eyebrows and makeup with Mary. She always does an amazing job!!! My mother and I went to Mary to get eyelashes and she made them look perfect for a wedding! I also went to Marys makeup class where there were appetizers and drinks to begin with along with a goodie bag which were full of amazing gifts that practically paid for the class! I loved the way her class was set up I learned what products worked good for me along with what tools are helpful. I could trust what she said because she wasnt trying to sell/push anything on anyone!!! I learned a lot on how to apply everything and how to hide imperfections like my big forehead!

Went in for layers and said I liked my bangs the same length as my hair but came out with layers that actually werent that great and bangs that "framed my face" even though they dont, its horrendous. I didnt want hair on the side of my head cut short for these "face-framing bangs" I hate the fact the go from short in the back to long in the front and I never asked for them. I though my hair was bad before this visit but Id rather have my old hair back. I cried at how bad my hair looks and the fact that its going to be a painful process to grow my hair out. Will not be coming back, so much for a first time. Thanks for making me want to pull a Britney and shave my head.

Mary at Charisma has been doing my eyebrows for 5+ years now and never fails to impress. My eyebrows had always been on the thicker, out of control side due to my Arab descent. Before I found Mary it was always a struggle to find someone who was able to clean up my eyebrows in a way that would please me and compliment my face. Ever since I discovered Mary it has never been a question to get my eyebrows waxed at any other salon or by anyone but her because of her expertise and exceptional service. Mary continuously does an amazing job and I highly recommend her!

Do not go to Mary for your eyebrows. I spent a whole year growing my eyebrows out for my wedding and my eyebrow girl Nicole had a baby so I had no choice but to go to her recommendation, Mary. After telling Mary how I like my eyebrows thick, she proceeded to completely wax them to a thin line. They look absolutely terrible and there is no way to even fill them in because of how thin they are. She is horrible! I also had to wait 30 minutes for my appointment with her and she bad mouthed by make-up salon while doing my eyebrows. Never again.

I just came home Atlanta for my friends wedding on Labor Day weekend. All of the bride-maids had their hair and make-up done. Jennifer, my BFF was the most beautiful bride, thanks to the hair and Marys make-up, we all looked great and had a good time at the salon. Some of the bride-maids went to Charisma for mani and pedis a few days before, Jennifer said she got a great facial. Thanks Bobbi for a great Up-do . . . Ill be back at Christmas

What a great experience! I went to Jenna for my bridal hair. She also gave my the perfect cut and color before my big day! Then to top it off she did my make up exactly how I asked! I was so happy with how it all turned out! Charisma was also able to accommodate my 8 bridesmaids and both of the mothers! Thank you Jenna and all of the other amazing girls that made us look beautiful!
