BEST GYM EVER!!! I joined this gym because I need to get healthy! I am not looking for a gym where I need to get all fancied up to go work out! I need a place where I can go and feel like I am not being judged! And, I found it!! I have been struggling with weight issues my entire life. When I joined Planet Fitness, Bloomington I didnt just get a gym membership...I got a full support system! A personal trainer I can set a plan with (at no additional cost, and I might add she is sooo nice and helpful!), and the manager Chelly sat down with me and went over healthy eating habits and what to do and what not to do (again, and no additional cost!) and again Chelly is such a wonderful person! I am so excited to have her on this journey with me! I have never wanted to go to a gym because I felt I am too overweight, but here...they want me to come! And, since I have joined there have only been 2 days that I havent gone! I love going and seeing the staff! They always say hi, ask you how you are doing...I have only been a member for a few weeks and I feel like I not only have a huge support team but a second family helping me in this battle! I am so glad I chose planet fitness and hope that others do to!

Started working out at the gym shortly after they first opened in 2009. $10 per month no commitment and free personal training plus on the first Monday of the month you get free pizza. On the second Tuesday you get a free bagel and coffee. You cant beat it!! The staff doesnt treat you like a number, but as a person. I have the basic membership which only gives you access to the gym, but that is all I need. If you like to tan or use any of the other services it is only $20 a month. The staff is always cleaning and making sure the machines are properly working. The only complaint I would have is I wish they would change the channels on the T.V.s. Especially on the weekends when there is nothing but infomercials on, but that isnt that big of a deal as I usually listen to my ipod. This place truly is the Judgement Free Zone. Also around Christmas time they have a prepay promotion for a year which saves you even more. Update 2014. Equipment is starting to show its age. Time to start replacing some instead of constantly fixing it.

Im not sure I would describe this gym as a place that really promotes wellness. They take your money and pray that you dont show up because if you did, it would be too crowded to even get in a good workout. This is a place for those who dont know much about exercise and thus just accept the skanky atmosphere and lack of exercise options. My husband and I tried a week guest past and our experience here was sub-par and that is being complimentary. The gym has a cold warehouse/industrial feel, older antiquated equipment, (no functional training equipment) and the equipment and lockers rooms were quite dirty. The staff seemed like they didnt know much about how to use the equipment as well when we asked. I love cardio and they dont have a good variety of cardio machines and non of them have internet access or TVs on them. I could go on, but why? We just decided not to join this gym. It wasnt worth the costs plus it was just way too far south of 494.

I would highly recomment Planet Fitness. My wife and I were looking for a place that we both could feel comfortable in working out at. I was a regular attender at a gym up until about 7 years ago. At that time, I had knee surgery and a long recovery before I could walk again.I also had a choange in my job and stopped working out. Recently, I turned 50 and didnt like my health and lack of excerise. So I joined and have enjoyed being at the club. I have noticed a slow but steady improvement in my health after three months. My wife is considering working with me for the first time in about 25 years because of the clubs atmosphere. If you are looking for club to help you get back on track that is friendly to both males and females, I can not think of a better place to begin your journey.

I have been going to PF since August of 2011. This gym is a very honest, straightforward gym. They dont have any of the sleezy salesmen all of the bigger gyms have. Ive had some really awful experiences with Lifetime and LA. They are very flexible. I had my brother and his friend come visit from out of town and even though Im really only allowed one guest pass they provided me two for the entire week. I wish they had group fitness, and for that I need to join another bigger gym too. However, I am also staying with PF because I feel good businesses should be rewarded.

Personnel Resources

Membership is cheap and you get what you pay for... showers and locker rooms facility is sub par. Cancelling the membership is a pain in the butt. They take 30 days to cancel it (So they get to charge you one more time! Even though you are not using their services.) You can only cancel via walking in or certified mail. One more way they make it difficult for you. In todays tech savvy world I dont know maybe email might work? Digital Signatures? Totally hate hearing "Sorry it is our policy!" Lots of good gyms out there... Planet Fitness isnt one of them!

This gym is pathetic. The fact that they can stereotype and get away it blows my mind. This is the first company that Ive heard about that can stereotype people and get away with it. If there was a gym that stereotyped people that were overweight and fat, they would get sued. They also give out free pizza and candy. I thought this was supposed to be a gym. If people are going there to lose weight, why in the world would you have free pizza and candy. This is gym is a disgrace and I hope it fails.

I used to LOVE going to this gym when the old staff used to work there!! But now, the gym is moving in a whole different direction and it doesnt seem like a very friendly place anymore. I like that its "judgment free" but with such inconsistent staff it makes me reconsider my membership. I used to love the old morning crew..(4 girls)...they always made my visits so pleasant!! I miss them.

Ive tried a few gyms and fitness centers over the years and never felt comfortable at any of them, so I unfortunately never routinely used my memberships... until I joined Planet Fitness. Its the perfect size, has all the equipment I need, and has a welcoming and professional staff. Best of all, Ive finally fallen into a regular routine of visiting the gym after all these years!

Ive been a member for over a year now and I absolutely LOVE it there. Employees are super sweet & fun. Prices you cant beat anywhere else. The place is CLEAN and JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE. You feel comfortable there. Im a black card member just for $10 more so I can do unlimited Red Light Therapy, tan, massage, 1/2 price drinks and many more! Go check it out!! Youll be happy you did.
