As an employee vs a member at Planet Fitness it was definitely a different experience from other fitness clubs I had worked for or was a part of as a member. I found out quickly within my first month how the management was especially towards the overnight staff. The General Manager Aaron Thompson basically threatened us as if we did not complete the cleaning list provided we would be fired as previous employees did nothing other than sleeping while on the clock. We had other duties besides cleaning, including memberships, cancellations, payments etc. in which most clubs have separate depts for these. I had several issues with members whom were non compliant to company policies and also tried to break the State Law. I was there to enforce company policies and also the State Laws. I was assaulted by a member who did not want to follow the policy and I wrote that member up to management and I never received a call to see if I was ok,at the time I should of called the police but it was a minor incident that I felt Aaron Thompson would have handled and when I called (yes I called) to follow up with management they were unsure including the Regional Manager Andy Manning what to with that particular member. I proceeded to text management as the next day I was left alone to work by myself and I told them if I had anymore incidents I would find another location to work. Apparently they valued me somewhat as the employee that they cancelled that members membership immediately. On more than over 20 overnight evenings I had been left alone to work without any other employee nor did management feel they needed to step in and cover any shifts. I had more regular members whom I got to know and really liked me more concerned with my safety, than the actual management. When Aaron did come in on some occasions I made sure that he was not working past 1:30am as he was not happy he had to come in. The overnight staff turnover is high, I was the longest overnight staff and I lasted almost 7 months until Jan 31, 2017 when I was called and unexpectedly wrongfully terminated by the Regional Manager Andy Manning without reason. Its the State Law when an employee is terminated you are to receive your paycheck IMMEDIATELY in which the company failed to do, they waited and paid me on their normal payday. I also contacted the Owner of Planet Fitness Mr. Hill and he too ignored my email and continues to ignore me and my concerns that I brought up to him. I feel Planet Fitness cares about their members but in turn does not care or have any concerns especially on the safety of their employees as I had experienced it first hand. If any issues arose that I had, I brought them to the attention to Aaron Thompson via the member issue book and there was never a follow up, nor did it appear he had any concerns how I handled non compliant members. I have been working over 30yrs in customer service and currently operate a business in which all my clients have rated me nothing less than 5 stars. So to be an employee and all of sudden terminated it just goes to show how much this company values the employees. I had gone above the expectations of my job many times for this company including covering a shift so a brand new untrained employee was not left alone as he was clueless and the manager was not going to come in. That week I worked more hours than the General Manager worked. But they dont take into consideration what you do for the company. I have requested multiple times my employee file as its my right and I am still being ignored by both the Regional Manager Andy Manning and the Owner Mr. Hill. There are many clubs out there that value not only the employee but the members that know that if you do not comply with policy there are consequences. In this case Planet Fitness terminates employees rather than make the members comply with the policies that are in writing and that the members have to sign. I am very disappointed in the way this company conducts their business. Xperience Fitness offers more amenities with WI-FI for the same price & no contract.

The lady who mentioned the rude ass chick at the counter is correct. That lady is the nastiest person ive ever met. I laid twice in one month....however she proceeded to tell me i hadnt paid in two months and screamed at me until i left. I had to come back in and discuss this matter with management the next day. The following week the woman wasnt at the counter and i had waited and waited. So i went to the locker room to get ready. As i came out, she yelled at me about how i am not to just walk in and needed to wait. I DID WAIT AND WAS ON MY WAY DORECTLY BACK TO THE COUNTER ONCE MY CRAP WAS PUT DOWN. She got into a yelling match and wasnt backing down....as the customer.....i did not either. I wont stand for that. The whole reason i needed her at check in was a lost card. She asked my name for lookup. I told her...she told me i was not a member. I told her i will not be kicked out by her again like the previous week. In which she denied doing to me. I asked her 4 times to use my phone number to find me. She told me its no different than a name search and its useless. Well after she realized i wouldnt back down and leave she used my number. THEN goes oh, you didnt tell me you name was that....excuse me? I forgot my own name? She went on and on and on. She does not deserve a customer service job. I cant believe how far she will go. And how she doesnt back down even when shes clearly in the wrong. Glasses. Long brown/black hair. Old rude B.

I received the WORSE customer service I ever had by SAMUEL! On my second visit, completely unaware that I was asking for anything wrong by asking for my membership #, because the first visit the lady called my home membership location to revive my acct#. (I lost my card & just moved here). He rudely told me "do I look like the other girl, I am not calling for you." As I tried to talk to another employee that was kind & explanatory, Samuel interrupts & I tell him I am do not want speak to him any longer. The second employee calls my home membership location to get my acct # & I thought I was signed in, so I asked to use the beds & then Samuel threatens to call the cops on me & have me removed! Yelling at me! I cannot believe someone would ever be employed by planet fitness that treated customers like that. I am so upset by him and that the others did nothing to stop him for being so rude & mean to me. He should be terminated on the spot.

Terrible customer service! Never have I ever been treated this way, or any other time I have come to this location. This employee spoke like she had no communication skills, or how to speak to a customer in general. I was turned away, for not having a scan card, yet Ive been there multiple times before without one, she didnt bother to use the resources she had in front of her to pull up my profile. She got very irate, and I told her its four o clock in the morning, Im not fully awake to be talked to how I was. I just had to leave and take the business card with no name and just a number on it and wait until 9 to call, for a manager to be available. Based on the reviews this looks like this has been an ongoing problem for the last few months, and planet fitness is allowing this to continue.
