The staff here are only interested in your money anything else, like customer service, is non existant. The mens locker room smells horrible always. Some days it smells like someone puked, other times it smells like someone took a dump in the corner, sometimes it smells like popcorn puke and poop. When speaking with a recently departed janitorial person, I asked if they ever cleaned the floor/carpeting The janitor said it had not been done in the 5 months he had been there. Dirty socks and underwear laying about in the locker room sometimes are there for days. The garbage cans are often filled to overflowing. When I mentioned this to staff they laughed it off but said they would send someone to empty the garbage. No-one ever came and months since then, it is still the same. Obviously there is no reason to bring up any issues you have since you will be ignored. The staff personnel must be quite important, you can tell by the way they ignore you unless its about money. The equipment is resonably decent and the main workout areas are usually orderly. However as mentioned, the mens locker room is rank and poorly designed! It contains 3 u-shaped dressing areas. Each area contains approximately 100 stacked locker compartments . There is a bench central to each of the 3 areas which will fit only 3-4 persons at a time. Do the math, 100 lockers with a bench that fits 3-4. You can find yourself waiting for the area to clear to dress on undress so dont be on any schedule. Then figure on bumping body parts with others trying to do the same. Poor design from a users/customers viewpoint. If you dont mind the unsanitary conditions and doubtless nasty smell of the locker room, being bounced around while dressing like bulls in a rodeo corral and enjoy inexperienced, semi conscious, lazy management, you may delight in your La Fitness Northtown experience.

I have been a member of LA Fitness since 2011& have been working out at this location since. What makes me write this today is the lack of professionalism and respect from their assistant manager. I am not asking for any red carpet treatment, but showing your members a little respect and basic customer service will go a long way. On April 10th 2015, my husband and I went to speak to a rep. to understand why we are being billed on my husbands account about $10 more (including tax) than what he originally signed up. The person helping us couldnt give us any answer other than repeatedly saying I dont know why and hes not sure. My husband said he will cancel, the rep tried selling him another plan but we wanted to find out the answer. When we didnt go with his sales pitch, the rep. literally said " I am not trying to FU***CK you over"-emphasizing the F word as well. Needless, to say we were shocked to hear it and I couldnt believe my own ears. The most ironic part of this whole experience was that he claimed that he was brought in by LA Fitness from California to drive their membership up. The only thing I see happening here is he will drive the members OUT b/c of his attitude. Its time for US to take our money somewhere that will treat us the way EVERYONE should be treated.

Horribly unprofessional. Signed up basically so the sales rep would let me leave after 2 hours; and I went in just wanting to check the gym out! He told me I could go home check to see if my health insurance covered the monthly payment and if I changed my mind about joining I could cancel AND get my money back if I canceled within 3 days. Tried to call the next day to cancel and they gave me the run around for about a week!! “Hes not in right now, oh he just stepped out to lunch, he is helping another costumer can I take a message?” left message after message to call me. FINALLY I get ahold of him. Tells me he canceled me and I will get my payment back after 10 days. NEVER got it annddd they kept trying to bill me, so technically I owe them like 360 some dollars. Call back and he doesn’t even work at that location anymore, and there is nothing they can do because there are no “notes” on my file .. so unless he remembers me and can issue my return there is nothing they can do. They are going to try to call him.. I’m not going to hold my breath on receiving a call back. Considering this one a loss of 60 bucks to a SCAM. I officially HATE LA fitness. Go somewhere else!!!! Don’t even go to check it out because they will not let you leave without sitting down trying to convince you for 2 hours

When I first got my membership at LA fitness in Blaine I thought everything was going to be OK I was just going to pay 22.50 a month with me and another person. I am a full-time medical student and I made sure that they knew that I had no leeway to play around with my budget but then My partner decided that she did not want to be a part of LA fitness but it was too late we had already signed an agreement and LA fitness took $224 out of my account for both first and last months gym membership payments for two people a week after they took that money out of my account I had asked them to cancel the other member Off my account and Casey said he would come to find out he never did I end up having 61.85 taken out of my account for the next month for both people. I talk to them I got so flustered to the point where I started tearing up and wanting to use words because they were pretty much telling me that they took $285 out of my account for one month. So do yourself a huge favor dont get a membership at this overrated expensive gym. Its a beautiful gym but the customer service is port. I would not recommend anyone going to this gym Im sorry to say it but if I could give no stars I would have done so.

The personal training manager, Jathan, is very unprofessional, unethical, and completely disrespectful. When my sister tried to cancel within the 3-day policy, he made it so hard and didnt follow the contract that was in place. He stated that he doesnt follow contracts and neither should the person signing them. He also stated that customers should trust the "verbal agreements" even though it contradicts with the contract. After hearing this, my sister said that was unacceptable and wanted the membership cancelled immediately. Jathan refused to do that, so we stated we werent leaving until it was taken care of. He then proceeded to call mall security. We explained the situation to the security guard, and he asked Jathan if he could just do it and again he refused. We left with the understanding that he would cancel it before he left that evening. The security guard stated that this was not the first time they had been called because of the employees. I would recommend signing up at a different LA Fitness and not giving this location any money. Also dont be fooled into paying more money to go to any location when signing up here... It is completely false. All of the other locations have been great.

Update: My fathers wallet with credit card were stolen out of his locked locker and used almost immediately. I looked into it a little bit and theft seems to be a common occurrence at this location. Original: Avoid this location at all costs. I went in to this location with a friend (long time paying member) while I was home from college to sign up for a promotional 2 week free trial. First words out of their mouths, "Are you from out of town?" so I think oh theyre just being friendly and want to know where Im from, I tell them yea I go to college out of town and Im back for winter break and want a gym to work out at during that time. The guy continues to tell me that he can not honor their free 2 week deal and will have to charge me for a month membership. I couldnt believe it, a free membership turned into a paid membership all because I was from out of town?! Save yourself the hassle and money and go to any one of the other gyms around town because this place is a joke. I recommend Anytime Fitness, theyve been nothing but professional to me in the 7 years Ive been an on and off member and actually honor their promotions.
