3 Reasons NOT TO GO TO THIS LA FITNESS: #1: No free weight options. There are 2 dumbell racks with the majority of the 10 and 15 lb dumbells missing. Where could they possibly go? I have gone there the last 3 nights and there has only been 1, 15lb dumbell. ?????? These are one of the most commonly used weights and yet they are not available. The saddest part was that I had to wait to share this one lonesome dumbell. #2: Un-hygienic. Upon entrance the place smells of body odor that only gets stronger nearing the locker rooms. The machines, and mats probably never get wiped down from either the facility or the person who used it. In which, I dont blame the person sometimes because there is usually no paper towel available. The machines hold foul body odor which tells me they probably never get wiped down. I had to cut my workout short because the stench was too strong to sit through another set. At the very least, I would expect the machines to be wiped down 1x per day. Especially after peak hours. #3: Poor customer service. Before I had to resort to posting this, I tried settling it internally. Ive shared my complaints with the person working the front desk and a supposed manager. No resolutions, just a simple well work on it. I work out 5 days a week and have been here the past 3 weeks and have not seen any change. I can honestly say this gym has hindered my fitness potential and growth. I originally chose this gym because of the 10 minute drive from home, however, I will be considering the extra drive to Edina or Apple Valley. If you are from the area, you should too.

Was a member of this gym for about 2 years. my wife and I were initially excited by the childcare option, but quickly realized that they do not staff it well enough for it to be safe (many times over legal supervision limits) and the staff do not engage with the kids at all. My little guy hated it, so my wife and I still ended up having to go separately which was a major let down. The front desk staff were friendly, but I never had positive encounters with any of the other staff there. They all seemed annoyed, angry and unwilling to help (until I asked about personal training pricing). During my conversation about personal training it quickly turned into a hard sell with the guy even trying hard to play me against my wife saying that if "she didnt support me buying $750 of something that she must not really care for me" (largely paraphrased but that was the jist). That turned me off completely and I quit going. During my time there as a regular user I was often frustrated about the organization of the free weights sections as well. There were a handful of "regulars" that would set up giant circuits taking up multiple spots and then when they were done theyd just leave it all there. In my opinion staff should have addressed this with them, it was easy to see who did it (As the staff were talking to them while they did it). I would not join this club again.

I am unsure how this club have a high rating. Ive been a member for many years and it is ok if just go in for quick workout and never interact with their staff. When I asked for this name just so I can have reference who I talked to in case I need to ask someone else next time, he flat out said it is degeratory to ask for his name. I didnt know that asking for someone name is like that in America. If he have nothing to be afraid of, why worry about giving out his name. He is the manager on duty is rude and does not bother listen to customer when having an actual issue, constantly interrupting you, belittle you, threaten to hang up on you, and threaten to cancel your membership if you dont shut up and let him talk first. Its the first time I ever been treated with this with any customer service and I thought Comcast have the worst customer service. LA Fitness Burnsville manager sure lower the bar. Dont go here, unless you want to be treated this way when you have an issue. Even if he want to hide his rudeness and unprofessional without giving his name, it easy to find out. His name is Joshua. I wonder if his regional manager just hire anyone that apply.

My experience with LA Fitness itself has been quite a hassle until recently. I was at the LA Fitness, Burnsville location and was approached by Russhon A. (Shawn) while training in the corner with a friend. He came over to meet us and asked us a few questions then invited us both to come for a free personal training session/assessment to see if we wanted to purse a PT membership. I can honestly say in the 5 months I’ve been with LA Fitness I’ve never felt that any of the employees genuinely cared about their members until meeting Russhon A. (Shawn). I have now started PT at the Burnsville location and he has called to check in with me, helped schedule appointments, and has also made sure all of my needs or wants have been met. If it weren’t for him I don’t think I would have signed up for PT. In my eyes I feel as if he has gone above and beyond in making sure I’m satisfied. Russhon A. you’re a wonderful example of what GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is and I want you to know that I APPRECIATE IT! If you have the opportunity meet with Russhon I’m sure he will exceed your expectations as well.

This facility itself is not bad. Ive had positive experiences once Im inside the door, however the sales staff is terrible. I made the mistake of trying to obtain a membership through the sales manager Mickey at the Burnsville location. He pushed a paid in full membership and stated multiple times that it was refundable at any time for any reason. After signing up I carefully read the contract during my 3 day grace period and discovered that there is no possibility of refund after the grace period ends. I also confirmed this with corporate and then cancelled that membership immediately and signed up at a different location without any problems. BEWARE OF THE SALES HERE, they will say anything to get their commission even if its not the truth. They also will not show you the contract unless you specifically ask for it hoping that you dont pay attention. In the end all that matters is whats on paper. Because I was blatantly lied to by the sales manager I give this particular location a rating of poor. If signing up, I suggest doing so at a different location.

I wrote a more comprehensive review for the LA in Apple Valley. I go to both so I aired my grievances at the one that I personally think is worse in many ways. The staff here is friendlier than the other one although today there wasnt anyone on duty and no one said hi or bye to me. I like the sales staff at the other one though I havent met any of them at the Burnsville one to compare. My biggest problems with this gym are technical: 1. the parking lot is a mess to try to get into. 2. theres no bottle fill water station. 3. the mats arent cleaned after each use because theres no provided materials to do so and I dont know if theyre ever cleaned. 4. The lockers are awkward to get in and out of. I feel like Im going to run into someone at every step or turn in that hallway or "doorway" into the locker room. They were poorly designed. This one isnt technical, its more about the fitness schedule. I wish there were more classes, especially during the week.
