I like the YMCA because its mission is community oriented. I returned from a year long switch from LA fitness. I really enjoy the Body Pump group fitness and the large outdoor pool. However I often have difficulty with the pool being fully utilized and not getting my swim in. It really bothers me to make the time to get ready and arrive to find no space for me. This happens once or twice a week. I show up twice a day to ensure I get my pool time in. For someone that works full time this is a HUGE ordeal. I get annoyed by OLD ENTITLED people who feel the need to own an entire lap lane to slowly breast stroke, or run in place in the middle of a lap lane. Really? Cant do that in the open swim zone? I find myself having to use other gyms. The staff is friendly, I always feel welcome. I dislike the open showers, I feel self conscience. I also do not like the trolls loitering nude in the locker room. They are harmless but cover that up! I can swim for two hours and prepare to leave and notice the same nude trolls. No joke! They have a YMCA for that and its downtown Saint Paul! So get metro mobility to drop your sagging butts off there!

Visiting from out of town. This YMCA honored my Y card from another country, gave me a tour and a card to use for the week I was here. Facility is clean, has lots of equipment, the pool is gorgeous, lockers are available even if you dont have your own lock. Easy to get to as well. Great find!

My wife and I dread going there some days because of the front desk person Laura. Very rude and talks down to members and cooworkers. I have friends that feel the same and we are considering making a change. Avoid days and you will be fine.
