This HVAC company was sub contracted through CenterPoint Energy to do my furnace, A/C and water heater install. The techs that did the install were very nice and cleaned up after themselves. However, after the install several things prompted me to write this review. - The gas connection to the furnace was leaking. I smelled gas the night of the install after they left. I have done gas hookups before so I got out my soapy water and found the leak between the copper line they ran and the input pipe on the furnace. Turned off the gas and corrected it myself. Not good with 3 kids in the house, could of ended up being a huge risk to my family. - They didnt tape the joints between the air filter box and the furnace, there were 1/8 gaps all over between the box and furnace. Why have a filter box if dirty air can get between them? I taped the seams myself. - This may seem picky but they re-used all of the old copper/metal piping from the old water heater to hook up the new one. You get new equipment and have old crusty ( and rusty pipe in the case of my pressure valve) pipe, doesnt look great but saves them the $$ of new pipe. - They wouldnt hook up my RUUD Econet thermostat I purchased to go with the RUUD U96V 2 stage Econet enabled furnace. They hooked up a 1 stage thermostat and let the furnace do the 2 stage controls which is really old school. Why not control a smart furnace with the smart thermostat that is MADE for the furnace? I can tell you why. It was Friday afternoon and they didnt want to redo the thermostat wiring. They hooked up the 1 stage even though I saw my sales guy write not to on the work order as I wanted the Econet installed. I rewired it myself and installed the Econet thermostat, works great. Like I said, the techs were nice but seemed a little behind the times, lacking training on the equipment they were installing and rushed through the install. I would not recommend them for a install.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had River City come out to inspect our failed air conditioning unit. They came out through an Xcel Energy Program called HomeSmart. Its basically a paid service that covers repairs and/or replacements of your home appliances if they breakdown. Kind of like an extended warranty for appliances. The guy that came out did maybe a 10-15 min inspection and said that all the refrigerant had leaked out and that he was going to write it up as non repairable rather than filling it up because our HomeSmart program only covers 1 lb and it needed like 5 lb. We had just had a hail storm about 3 weeks prior and the issues started shortly after that. The unit is clearly damaged from hail and I asked him to write that in his report that the damage could have been caused by the storm. He said no because he never actually found the leak. I accepted that and asked for a copy of the report from their office. They said they would email it. Never did. Called up Home Smart to start the process of replacement because I was told it was unrepairable and was told that the report that River City sent them was too vague and I would have to get someone to find the leak before they replace it. Now Im not unreasonable, if I was told by the River City tech that I would need to get a more thorough inspection initially while he was there I would have called around that day to find someone to do it. But I was told that they were going to send their report in saying unrepairable. So I started looking at AC units to get purchased and installed. Then I call HomeSmart to start the replacement process and they tell me i cant start it until i get another inspection. Now I have to wait even longer to get my broken AC fixed in 90 degree humid weather with a 3 week old newborn and have some other company come out and locate the leak... needles to say Im very unimpressed.

Fixed problem on my A/C unit but charged more labor then I was told when I made the appointment. I was told they charged $85 for diagnostic (which included the first half hour of labor) and $72.50 for every half hour after that. Tech charged me the $85 diagnostic labor fee plus $72.50 for a half hour of labor (which SHOULD cover an hour of labor) and he was not here for more then 20 minutes. So he over charged me $72.50 according to what I was told over the phone when I made appointment.

Im giving them one star simply because of the way one of their employee drives his work van! Speeding, tailgating and had his left leg up in the drivers window. I would never hire a company who had employees like that.
