My sons old Honda was leaking antifreeze from a water pump problem. I decided to help him out and have it towed to Crystal Lake for repairs as my son is not able to work. They gave me an estimate to repair for a few hundred dollars and I said to proceed. After repairs were complete, one of the owners, Jim Sigfried called me to bring him back to their shop after he delivered the Honda to my sons house, so I met him there. Jim told me in so many words not to even consider paying for this work because it was something that Crystal Lake Automotive does in their community once in awhile for the right reason. My son Charlie has been diagnosed with non operable liver cancer. Thanks again Jim & Karl. Classy business, classy people. I could go on and on. Pearson Auto Body.

If you are looking for professional car care at reasonable prices, this is the place. Crystal Lake Automotive has been servicing my automobile for many years. I have never been disappointed, and I am very fussy. The fussiness may have been brought on from fifty years of flying private, military and air carrier aircraft. Or perhaps my fussiness came from dealer service experiences where they didnt: rotate the tires in accordance with the instructions in their owners manual, consistently overfilled the oil during oil changes, used the wrong weight oil or billed for work that was later found not to be done. I originally sent them an email asking a few questions about a vehicle that looked quite good to my wife and I. In return, I get this terribly written automated response that did not answer my questions at all. I write back to them, like the automation says to do, and I get nothing. 4 days later I get another automated response, stating that they havent heard from me and if there is anything they can do or answer, just let them know. Customer Service has ZERO to do with automation. They have lost the sale of the vehicle I was looking at and all future transactions. If I wanted to deal with a computer’s empty replies, I would call and press buttons with Comcast.

Ive taken my car to Crystal Lake Automotive for several years & have always had excellent service. From oil changes to new brakes, my car has received top notch service. The staff is always friendly & very knowledgeable on the mechanics of my car. The waiting area has free coffee & Wi-Fi to make the time pass with ease. I’ve also used the late night drop off a few times & it always goes smoothly. While I’ve never had to leave my car for more than a day, Hertz has an office conveniently located inside Crystal Lake. I will continue to have my car serviced at Crystal Lake Automotive & would recommend them to anyone!

From the first phone call until the work was completed, everything ran quickly, efficiently, smoothly and the people at Crystal Lake made me feel like family. They kept me updated on the work and when the work would be completed. When I picked up the car it looked like brand new and it was clean inside and out, which was a pleasant surprise. Was in with a family member who was getting an oil change and witnessed some extremely rude behavior from some of the employees towards another employee. It most certainly was not in any joking manner either. I wasnt even getting service done on my own vehicle, but I know I will definitely not support a business that allows that kind of work environment for their employees.

Id recommend Crystal Lake Auto to anyone looking for a body repair shop. Everyone here is so friendly - they treat you like family (or maybe better!). Getting a car repaired after an accident is never fun, but Crystal Lake will at make it as pleasant an experience as possible.
