I had the check engine light come on in my Honda Accord and I went to Autozone to have them help check. I do that and they tel me its one of the Oxygen sensors. Fair enough I know what it is and no need to panic.I go to Dobbs to have it checked out and get a call it will cost $190 to fix using the Honda parts. I give the go ahead and get there to pick my car up and i get hit with a $310 bill. The explanation is that the diagnostics cost $114 to determine which of the 4 sensors it is. We argue for a while and he says the person who called me should have told me there is a cost for diagnostics. Long day.. Only went because of proximity. I wonder if they actually use original Honda parts. The last time I went for my oil change, the Honda technician showed me the after market Oil filter they put in. I guess i have learnt my lesson. Last $310 they will ever get from me.. I went back the next day to ask to speak with the Manager to let them know i didnt like the way i had been treated the day before.. I was in for a huge surprise.. the person from the day before, Patrick was the Manager. So i told him i had come to report to him that case since hes the manager that i feel its very wrong for the person on the phone to tell me my bill was $190 and hes slamming me with a $310 Bill. I had been bringing cars on occasion for over 4 years even before he became the manager. He eventually agreed to refund my $114 dollars and take back the $30 discount he gave. Fine by me... But i sign the refund documents and they dont have a copy for me.. So ill just wait the 10-14 days he mentioned and see if i get a check in the mail. I was shocked a manager would treat customers that way... and im sure he was pissed as he walked away and when i said we shouldnt be enemies and he responded saying we cant be friends now. What an interesting individual.. But I know not to go there again especially when hes made it clear we;re not friends.. Go figure..

My wife took her car into this dobbs for an inspection and they failed the car for the "steering wheel play" caused by a power steering pressure hose leak. what i found interesting is that the steering wheel doesnt have play and the PS pressure hose has no leak. The PS fluid levels where in the small normal range and since even a little leak would make a pretty big difference in the levels, there is no leak. took it somewhere else and it passed without any problems at all. To make matters worse, these are all the things they said my wifes car NEEDS. 1) PS pressure hose- $50 2) PS fluid flush- $90 3) Tie Rod- $65 4) 4 wheel alignment- $100 (a tie-rod is used for steering, replacing it would put 1 tire out of alignment) 5) unnecessary labor for unnecessary parts- $130 6) Air Filter -$20 (changed literally 1 hour prior to bringing it in to them) 7) 2 serp belts- $68 (the car has 1 belt, and its fine) 8) more unnecessary labor for those labor intensive air filters and belts (both VERY easy and can be done in 30 minutes with a coffee break) $230 9)environmental fees- $30 I will never have a car inspected by a dobbs ever again. They are a cheating lying bunch in that shop.

Went in for an oil change and brake pads, which should have cost $50. After they looked at my vehicle the manager gave me a bill of $415. He told me the oil needed to be purged ($50) on top of the oil change ($25) and that the rotors needed to be replaced in addition to the brake pads ($300+). I told him I couldnt afford that so he told me I needed to get the purge and the oil change in the very least because my car wouldnt run correctly if I didnt get it purged and that my brake pads should be fine for now. So I agreed to it. While I was waiting I talked to my brother about it and he tells me they are ripping me off, that I shouldnt need an oil purge. So I talk to the manager about it and he says that the purge wasnt mandatory but recommended and that since I already agreed to it he wasnt going to do anything. Thankfully, the service tech Bobby was very helpful and knocked my bill down from $85 to $50. I honestly would never recommend going here, and I wont be coming here again.

I took my 2004 Chevy Impala here after buying it used about three months prior. The multi-function switch was no longer working and I expected with the cost of the part plus labor to spend about $850, to my surprise they called me back with a quote that was a few hundred dollars lower than I expected. I asked Bob to give the rest of my car a good look through to be sure that nothing else was wrong with my newly purchased used car and instead of finding a way to charge me more money, he aired up my tires and reported my car looked good to him and no further work was necessary. Also, I was forewarned about a $140 diagnostic fee that might be charged to figure out what was wrong, but with Dobbs experienced mechanics it was not necessary and they diagnosed and fixed my car in less than 24 hours. Thank you!!

Two months ago I took my wifes Malibu to get an oil change. Immediately after the check engine light came on for a gross evap leak. Code P0455 and P0449. I took my newly purchased Toyota Tacoma there as well for just an oil change and the next day my check engine light came on for the same exact codes. Dont know if its intentional or accidental but something isnt right with this shop! If anyone has this problem please contact me so I can have more evidence against this shop to get my money back.

Great shop. I took in my Fiancees car to get new tires. They told me the brakes needed to be replaced. They took me out to look at the car and pointed out their reasoning, as an engineer I knew what they were talking about. They were very honest. Their website had mistakenly put a promo up early, but they still honored it for me. Other people came and went while I was there and talked about how good the service after the sale on the tires is.

I moved from Clayton to Creve Couer. I have had to stop in a few times to get air in tires checked. They were super busy, but was more than willing to come check the pressure and air up my tires. I gave them a tip of course and will order my oil change and tire rotation. FyI, if anyone lives near the manchester in maplewood Bryan and his staff are AWESOME!!! This location is just closer like 2 minutes

My car had shake in it and I took it to Dobbs and they said that it was due to a dented rim and gave me a quote to fix it.. $634. I thought that was high so I went online and found the same rim for $99 brand new and had it professionally installed (by a more trustworthy shop) for $30. Trying to make a $505 profit on a $129 fix is absolutely crazy to me. I will never be back.
