I myself am in the IT business, but a completely different type from Computer Hospital. Even though I can fix my own computers, I do not have the time to mess with them when I need to be working for my clients. When I have an issue, I always take my systems to Computer Hospital. While the clientele wasnt 100% people-friendly before, it most certainly is now. Even so, they still got the work done, and correctly. I hate reading these reviews, and seeing the ones written out of complete and total ignorance. They always charge the same amount for the first hour ($60 from the last time I brought a system in), completely fix your system in that time if they can. If they cannot they will call you to tell you what is wrong, what needs to be fixed, and what it will cost before going any further. Now, the parts, every single technician knows what they are, and what they work with. That doesnt mean that an overconfident customer wont think they know how to fix their system with that part, break their system, and then blame the place they bought the part from. With their hard drive recovery, they use the same method I do, and there are so many factors on a successful data recovery process. Depending on how the customer uses their computer with a problem, depends on the how stressed the hard drive is going to be when they receive it. If its just unplugged from the wall, and taken straight to them; you will get your data back without a hitch. The process takes anywhere from 2 hours to 2 DAYS. It depends how bad the drive is. You have to remember you are asking for a service that is a gamble depending on the drive condition, and they are doing what they can to recover all of it. Time is not worthless, and anyone should understand this. You can pay the hourly charge for them to do what they can, or you can send your drive to California and pay $1200 for a company with a $20,000 drive scope to recover your data. Regardless, taking your systems anywhere else, youre looking at technicians that arent even certified, and dont really know what they are doing. Some places will just fix your system, and call you with an outrageous bill. Others will just wipe your entire computer, not caring about your data, but your system will be virus free (and application free). With that out of the way, I cant say Im completely happy with the store as a whole. The store seems to be provisioned to cater to all types of people, and even computer savvy users, but they never seem to carry any "bleeding edge" items. I guess I can understand from the cost, but it would be nice to see one part that the impatient user would buy instead of waiting 3 days for it to be shipped. Also, on-site service would be nice, even at an additional fee. They have said they have been muddling around with the idea, but not sure if it will happen. Any other place that does do on-site, Ive already had come by, and had my money refunded, because a non-certified technician worked on my system, and started wiping my system clean instead of FIXING it. Overall, for technical work, good luck finding a better place, and people that tell you how it is. They have gone out of their way to fix some issues for me, but sometimes those things take time, especially when dealing with 3rd party companies they have to retrieve software from, or proprietary parts. These guys are working on what seems to be about 20 systems at the same time, and still able to take care of customers. Think about that when you go to some other place, with the same amount of employees, working on a quarter of those systems, and have to wait 5 minutes to even get their attention.

I dont normally write reviews, but my experience wasnt the best. I called on a Wednesday morning and told them I was having virus issues with my laptop. I was quoted $50 over the phone so I brought my laptop in that morning. I didnt get a call back until Thursday morning and they told me it was indeed a virus and now the total was $140. I had to have my laptop for school so I payed the 140. When I got home that evening and turned it on everything worked fine and it was running faster but I was unable to access the internet and it said I was blocked. Frustrated because I had multiple assignments due that evening (luckily I was able to submit through my phone), I called back on Friday morning and told them my issue. They told me I needed to disconnect my internet and reconnect it (which I had done twice as well as restarted it). They then told me to bring the laptop back in. So later that afternoon I brought it in and they practically grabbed it from me and hurried my out the door and said I most likely wouldnt have it back that evening. Finally Saturday morning I get a call that the problem was resolved and my laptop was ready. Everything runs fine now, but I just wasnt impressed with the service, or the time. Wednesday morning to Saturday morning to remove a virus, and $90 more than I was quoted over the phone seemed too much to me. I guess everyones experiences are different but I probably will try to find another place if I ever need work done to my laptop.

My computer had a virus on it. I called up Best Buy, they said it would cost $280 to purchase tech support and remove it, and that it would probably take about a week. I called up the Computer Hospital, they told me it would cost $59 an hour and they would have it back to me either same day or next day. They seemed really genuine on the phone, too. So obviously, I chose to take my laptop to the Computer Hospital. They had my laptop for a several days. Finally, I went in to check on it and I was told that my motherboard was shot and that I would have to buy a new laptop. I was shocked seeing as how my laptop was only a year and a half old and it was an ASUS, which was voted "Best Motherboard Brand" for the past six consecutive years. I decided to take my laptop to Best Buy, where I had originally purchased it, and see if anything could be done. Turns out, it was just an operating system error, not my mother board. They had my laptop back to me within two days. I dropped it off on December 22nd. They called and said it was finished on Christmas Eve, December 24th. Basically, if I had listened to the guys at Computer Hospital, I would be purchasing a brand new laptop (they suggested I purchase one from them). Turns out, I was just out $59. Dont take your laptop there. They dont seem to know what theyre doing! Its a complete scam!

Recently, I had some minor issues with my laptop which impacts its operational system. Anyway, I tried to fix myself so I opened the entire device, cleaned it out but I did not put the memory back properly. So I decided to stop acting like an expert and went there. I asked a guy there that basically my laptop for some reason had not been functioning well and I told him also that I opened the device so there might have been something misplaced or whatever you wanna call it. The guy said "ok well get it checked for you for $50 and you can picked it up tomorrow afternoon. However, if we had to fix the operational system part, wed charge you more" Guess what happened!! First of all, the guy promised me to come pick up my laptop noon but he was late as I got it around 6 p.m. Second, the guy charged me $80 and when I said why?? He told me it took him more time to get it fixed. Finally, I discovered that he only opened, and then put everything back together right! But did not do anything to make the device work normally! So why 80? He said because of the time!!!! This is crazy! I believe the people there know NOTHING about computers! I was gonna call the police because obviously he stole my money without fixing my device. He got scared though and I got my money back!
