I did research on all of the surrounding salons in my area and found Studio 417 Salon on Google. I read quite a few reviews and most all of them were positive. So I decided to give it a try. Back story, I have been to many other places and have had my hair butchered and the beautician and/or salon artist never actual listened to what I wanted. I am very VERY picky about my hair as it is the biggest part of my identity. I have very long hair that is healthy and thick. I take pride in my hair and I am positive it shows. For years I have been terrified to go back to ANY salon for the reasons that are listed above. The beauticians would act as if they understood exactly what I wanted only to have them get it completely wrong. Or to have them argue with me about what I wanted and for them to go and do exactly the opposite of what I requested and do what they wanted instead. Anyone who has been in my situation before; knows how awful that experience is and how it scars you and your trust in the people who are supposed to be professionals. Needless to say, I went 2 years before I was trusting again. So I was partnered with Ashlee, not only did she listen to me, she had an actual discussion with me about what would be an easier upkeep for my hair. I took her advice and I am in love with what she did. She is the only person, let me say that again, SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON; who got the EXACT color I wanted. She is an amazing person and is very easy to talk to. She never pressured me to trim my hair, to buy products or to do something I didnt want. I was so blessed to get her as my hair artist. Unfortunately, I was resistant at first because I was bracing myself to hate it. Not her fault at all by the way. I had been so disappointed in the past that I just assumed I would hate it and she probably did a terrible job. I was so mistaken because when I got to look at it, I fell in love with my hair again. For the first time in 3 years, I loved my hair again. I would recommend her to anyone who loves vibrant colors in their hair. So Ashlee Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for fixing my hair and making me love it again. You are an amazing person as well and you now have a customer for life! Thank you Studio 417 Salon for hiring the best of the best. You all are amazing! Sincerely, Cynthia Eastburn

DONT GET YOUR HAIR COLORED HERE Around tax time I decided to treat myself to a cut and color. I started going to Studio 417 a couple years ago because I am very particular about my hair, its too tempting to many stylists to chop off all my really long hair, and I have never had an issue with my hair cuts. However this is the first time I was having my hair professionally colored, Id always used Walmart stuff before. So I went in and was very clear, even with an example photo, that I wanted jut black hair with striking blue tips. They had me sign some waiver about my color which they drastically down played. My tips ended up being what they called "Mermaid Turquoise" instead. I am anti-confrontational and decided I could learn to love it, EVEN THOUGH IT COSTED ME $200. I waited a bit to wash it, but 4 washes later, I was left with a blondes chlorine green color. It was absolutely the uglyist color I have ever seen. I called to have them fix it, got an appointment for a week later, just to arrive and them be like "Ok, youre here for a cut and color?" Um no, I already paid $200 for a botched color. I had to explain yet again that I was there for them to fix the color they obviously botched. I was told to call back later to speak with a manager. When I finally got a hold of her 2 weeks later, she told me that the piece of paper I signed meant they werent liable to fix the color. They kept going on and on and on about how they "use the best products out there." By this point, my black wasnt even black anymore and she couldnt keep her story right on the proper way to color hair with unnatural colors like blue. To be fair, she offered me 20-30% off my next visit, and it didnt have to be a color visit! Meaning I could get $40-$60 off another cut and color, or maybe about $10 for a blowdry....... Needless to say I wont be going back. Since then I have gone to Walmart, spent $10 on a black and $8 on Splats blue, and got exactly the color I wanted. Except Ive now washed my hair 5 times since coloring it myself and the blue is still going strong. I will not go back here, that was completely underhanded what they did, and I find it extremely rude that they wouldnt fix their mistake. I will find another cutter and will stick with my Walmart hair dyes from now on. They have never failed me.

Ive been going to Mac at this salon for going on two years. Mac is great! BUT I brought my 13 year old daughter here for her first color. She wanted a balayage and I didnt want to spend $180 on a 13 year olds hair so we went to a stylist in training and got their "Model" pricing which was around $80 I think. I felt comfortable with this since she was working right next to Mac, who is very experienced. The result was her hair looked the same as it did when we came in. She didnt leave the color on long enough. I called and they gave me 20% off a level one stylist for a redo. She ended up with almost a whole head of yellow/orange hair. My daughter said the stylist tried several toners on it (she must not have been happy with the result either). With the discount, we paid another $80 (without cut) and I tipped her (even though it was awful). I called the same day to complain and they called several days later after Memorial holiday and said she could come in for a complementary toner. We were informed by the stylist when we came in that this was a temporary color and would wash out and if she went swimming the chlorine would take it out (its summer and shes a kid!). The toner was almost completely washed out in a week and a half and I called to tell the management and they said theyve done all they are willing to do! I like my stylist, but this is no way to run a salon and I wont be back! We went to National Ave Salon and got exactly what we wanted in the first place! (for half the price of an experienced stylist at 417). The stylist at National Ave said shes had 4 people come in for corrections after leaving 417 in the past 6 months! $300 later and going elsewhere, were finally happy with it! Pic is of her natural color. Wont let me add new photo
