UPDATE The Master Plumber contacted me and made arrangements to have another one of his plumbers come out and fix the problem. Two men showed up on the appointed day. They put on protective shoe covers before coming into the house.(not done on the previous visit) They looked at the project and gathered up what they needed. They took apart the previous piping and redid it so that it fit. They even added a clean out in case of future problems. They verified that everything was as it needed to be and made a few suggestions about work I was going to do myself in the next day or two. A very positive experience. The company took my comments seriously and fixed the problems at no additional charge. I have uprgraded my rating to 4 stars - it would be 5 if this had been done this way on the first visit. I would be willing to use them again if the need arose ORIGINAL REVIEW Let me summarize. The plumber was 1.5 hours late for the first appointment (Roto Rooter called and said he was running late). We scheduled the work to be done the following Tuesday at 8:00 AM. He stated we needed a permit and he would obtain it. At 8:45 I called to check on the status since he hadnt arrived. The dispatcher said he would get back to me when the plumber checked in. At 10:00 he called back and said the plumber was on his way. He showed up at 10:20 - no permit- said we didnt need one and said sorry I am late- I forgot I dont start work till 10:00. The first part of the job was done marginally. (moved a loop vent on kitchen island sink - it now rubs on next cabinet and on the new sink) The second part (installing a dishwasher) he didnt do. Said it would be better to have the countertop installers do that since he didnt have the tools to attach the diswasher to the quartz countertop. Of course the instructions say if you have quartz or granite countertops the dishwasher is attached on the sides to the cabinets. I pointed this out and he said no Didnt have a dustpan or broom to clean up the PVC shavings that were all over our new floors so we lent him ours. Definitely NOT worth the vey high pricing they charged

A RotoRooter service technician misdiagnosed a plumbing problem which then led to flooding in our finished basement. And now Im getting the run-around from them about for the damage — even though theyve admitted (in writing no less) they were at fault and initially agreed to clean it up and pay for the damages. Unfortunately, the handling of the "clean-up" has been oriented towards containing their costs, rather than getting my house back together safely. As an example, the clean-up crew was advised by an office manager not to remove the laminate floor (even though there was water above and below it). This office manager had never been in my house and did not see the situation. They also left their fans in my basement for days and days, and wouldnt return my calls. Twice I tried calling the GM Rick Maloney and asked to speak with him directly, but he apparently wont talk to me, as its always his subordinate who calls me back. Now theyre telling me they wont pay for the damage (Ive already replaced the floor out of our pocket) unless I sign a liability waiver, which releases them from any future costs. Upon the advise of my insurance agent, I asked for an exclusion for future mold issues that may arise. They say no, because if there was going to be mold, it would already be there. But of course, I wouldnt know if theres mold or not, because they wouldnt remove parts of the wet floor. Just call someone else with your plumbing issues. This has been a nightmare.

I had noticed water standing at the back of my house (mobile home), it looked clear so I thought it was from a hard rain we had. My cousins came in (from OK) on Sat. evening after attending the JM Womens Convention. They used the bathroom and suddenly I had a clog so bad that no plunging could help. It was coming up through my bathtubs and creating a mess. I was beside myself because I am unemployed and my UI had run out last month, so I was not prepared to have a plumbing expense! We found Roto-Rooters ad in the yellow pages, their ad was very impressive, "Senior discount, coupons online, no extra charge day, night, or weekends". So we called for a Plumber in St. Charles, and they said he would be here between 8-10 p.m. Jeff" arrived around 10:30 p.m. (he called to inform me he was running about 30 mins. late), and he was here until 1:45 a.m. He was very professional, courteous, worked hard, and didnt quit until he had the job done. I am very thankful for the services provided and for my cousin being here because she paid for it. I recommend Roto-Rooter to everyone needing this type of service; they are always available, comparable rates and they are very efficient. Very satisfied with our service from Roto-Rooter! Our hot water heater exploded(and I do mean exploded!) spraying water and sand all over our basement storage area at 11:30pm. Roto-Rooter was the only service that I called that actually had a live person to speak with, even the others that were supposed to be 24/7. The gentleman reassured me that we had taken the correct precautions as far as shutting down the system and that there was no more to be done that night. (Our son had already used the shop vac to clean up the water.) He also assured me that someone would be here first thing in the morning to assess the damage. When the service man arrived, he clearly identified himself and used booties over his shoes, After assessing the damage he went over what needed to be done and the cost. After I spoke with our insurance company, I told him the insurance gave the ok to proceed. He replaced the heater and completed the work and clean up in a timely manner. He was very professional and mannerly. We had hot water before evening. Thanks Roto-Rooter for helping us in this emergency situation.

It was 11 days before Christmas and suddenly my washing machine decides to back up into my laundry room at 10:00 in the evening. My friend insisted I call Roto Rooter, which of course I did. I was greeted with a very kind gentleman on the line who walked me through an easy process of setting an appointment. Since I was able to clean up the major portion of the water mess, I chose to wait until the following day for the repair service call. The next day my repairman was not only on time but early. Steve was kind, efficient, clean and knowledgeable. He was kind enough to answer all of my questions no matter how silly they may have been and was not bothered by my wanting to watch what he was doing. (A fascinating job but one I would never want to do.) Steve was amazing, he looked at everything, asked me lots of questions and listened to all of my answers. He gave me an estimate and was right on the money. Thanks for putting my mind at ease and doing a great job Steve. I would call Roto Rooter back without hesitation. Affordable pricing too!
