Id rather stick a needle in my eye than return back to this dealership! Let me start off by saying Ive done my homework on the CRV for the past 6 months because Ive been WAITING for 2012 to come out. I went here in the beginning of the month to get a quote on the CR-V EX-L 2012. Justine - fabulous salesperson, great demeanor, knows her stuff COLD. However, I left because of a manager who sauntered over to us, asked me why I wanted certain modifications (God forbid I try to negotiate a deal on a car I want), and honestly acted unbelievably arrogant. I left, but had second thoughts despite my father and friends asking me to see other dealerships, because I honestly liked Justine, and if anyones getting a commission for my car, its going to be her. I even waited the 24 days for them to get the car today. Granted, I went to get the car mid-day Saturday (today) and it was crazy, but after waiting more than 2 hours to see the finance department, and AFTER SIGNING A CONTRACT FOR A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE RATE, Im about ready to drive off, another salesperson with a knack for words, comes to Justine, and says, "finance wants to see you again, dont let them drive off with the car." Excuse me? Apparently they "ACCIDENTALLY" gave us a lower rate than they were supposed to, and were now correcting it by calling different banks for the correct amount. (Thats not really my problem, because honestly we went over it when the woman in the finance department went over the details with me for more than a half hour). For the next 20 minutes, not one manager came to us, despite us asking for the manager, and all I had was the one person, Justine, who had nothing to do with that, had to deal with my wrath because of the irresponsibility of another person. Anyway, after rectifying the situation by lowering the actual price of the car (1) after threatening to walk out of the deal and (2) giving them the only option wed deal with, the finance woman asked the manager WHO FINALLY SHOWED UP what to do to for giving us such a hard time, he replied, "Well I can offer you 2 oil changes for free..." What the HELL? I am a damn physician, I dont need your pity oil changes for 50 bucks. Overall: JUSTINE ROCKS...but this place is trying to scam everyone. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SATISFACTION SUCKS. If I didnt need the damn car, or if I didnt like Justine, I would have never came back. Garden State Honda, youre lucky you have her - because with that reputation, you DO NOT deserve her.

Hello Everyone, I do not generally take time to post a review but i wanted to write review for the experience i had with this dealer. I am actively looking to buy Honda Odyssey 2016. I sent inquiry to no. Of dealers and gave a first preference to Garden State Honda because it was rated best honda dealer in 2016. I walked in to store at 6.40PM. Very cold welcome at the reception. No one took interest to understand my requirements. They found a Sales man who was new and didnt had any understanding of how Odyssey operates internally. The only reason he was assigned to me because he was "Free". The bad experience carries on. We requested for test drive and i took the test drive. Asked many questions but not a single Satisfactory answer. Came back to showroom after a drive and to my surprise no one gives a damm about selling a product and asking experience. I was looking to get more details on Odyssey Touring interior option. But the sales man didnt had any clue and no one senior had time to come and help the new sales man. I was fed up and decided to leave. The Sales man insisted me to stop so that some one senior can show up. The most senior person of the showroom did not had courtesy to come and even say hello. (The guy was just 10 ft away). I left the showroom leaving my card. Net Message- These guys does not seems to care about potential clients. It seems all the Sales mananger might have met their monthly targets hence no one cared about potential new clients. All in all very very bad experience. I am never going back to showroom. Also going to write a note to Honda about this Showroom as these guys no way deserves to be no. 1 dealer in NJ. They have treated us very disrespectfully. I completely wasted 1.5 hours with no result. I will prefer to go to other dealers who deal with clients respectfully. I am not writing name of the Sales man since he was Just new to the dealership. I think it is completely fault of Senior managers who do not spend time with new employee and shadow them. I strongly recommend every one to avoid these guys who do not even understand basic customer service. My next mail is to Honda company and hope they act on these guys. Regards CP

I responded to a local ad for a Honda Odyssey, with program pricing posted in the newspaper with preferential prices and a model listed. The showed me a bunch of vans that were available at the same price. I negotiated a deal and left a deposit. I was slated to take delivery the following Monday. After discussing with my wife she reminded me that I would grow tired of the van and should get a Pilot that was a just a few extra dollars a month. I contacted my salesman David, and he handled the negotiations over the telephone. I agreed to take the Pilot a few days later. While conducting my business of a salesman, while on the road I stopped in to a few other Honda dealerships and nobody could match the deal on the car. They tried to upsell me to another version with more features. One dealers general manager in Hackettstown told me when I go to take delivery that they would try to scam me for extra fees and I would never get the deal I was promised. He said simply walk out and he promised he would guarantee that his real deal (More expensive deal) would still be on the table. So I returned to Garden State, asked about other more equipped vehicles and they showed me a few and priced it out. Even the more expensive versions were better priced at Garden State. When I went back to do the delivery they promised me I would be out the door within 45 minutes. I went through the closing and the Finance Manager told me that the truck was great, that none of the extras Honda offers were needed unless I planned to buy the lease out at the end. The closing took 20 minutes, and that included some fun talk with the gentleman. No BS. The only dealer delays were on my end, the only pressure was put on me by myself, and the salesman, managers, the finance guys, and even the service dept personnel who delivered my plates a few weeks later were top notch. I was surprised. If I get any more Hondas I am going there no question. I was impressed and I must admit that my preconceptions were wrong. They were great !!

Im shocked at how much of a horrible experience I had here. I came on a Friday evening with my father to speak about our options since our lease was ending in a week. We were greeted by the front desk which was a super sweet girl. She paged our sales person, who reached out to me in order to meet, and he came right away. So far so good right? WRONG we sat down and it just went downhill from there. He started talking about the Honda Accord (which my father owns) when we were there for the Honda Civic (which is leased). He started asking us questions that he was supposed to know such as the year, when the lease was up, etc. I would assume he would have had all the information ready upon our arrival since we had a set appointment. When we asked for our papers based on our lease so we could compare it to a new lease possibility that we were planning on discussing, he said he didnt have access to it from his computer so he went and asked his manager. He came back with a hand written number instead of the receipt papers. After a couple of minutes of frustration, another sales man joined us and was extremely rude. He spoke to my father in such a condescending manner. He wasnt open to any deals or to help us out with any negotiations regarding the new lease. He simply said this is what I said and thats it. Take it or leave it. He asked questions sarcastically and basically just wanted to end the conversation quick. He made it seem like he was annoyed to even be there. When my father mentioned another deal that he saw, he basically told us to leave and go check out the other deal. That was the last straw for us. I would have expected this dealership to have respectful employees! Regardless if he was having a bad day, you never speak to anyone in that manner. Im embarrassed for them. Not acceptable and honestly a shame. Im glad I didnt give these people anymore of my time.
