I absolutely love this gym, and if anyone says that LA fitness or any Co-ed gym is better.... Than you should go join it. Have a good life. I am a member for 5 years now and yes theres pros and cons but the place feels homy. I feel safe and although some machines break down they usually get fixed right away. They have a cleaning staff at all times and maintain the area. Sometimes the aerobic studio has hair balls but hey women loose hair on a daily. The classes are great including the instructors and yes sometimes schedules change and some seasons are better than others but this gym is a perfect place to walk in and do your thing with out being judged. I didnt know you needed a upgraded machine to loose weight. The staff is nice besides some girls but every time or at least 95% of it I feel welcomed. Not everyone can please you in life. Ive been in and out of gyms all my life and honestly I prefer this gym over hearing body builders and having to deal with men or women coming in for a scene... It feels like high school at some gyms. In this gym it really feels like you build bonds with women and it feels like a family. Talk about team effort and friends for support and motivation... Lucille Roberts has that all. If you are really into making a change and trying to be healthy trust me a broken down machine and a bad attitude wont get you any where!! And No Im not a staff member or work for the company, thats just some absurd and paranoid perspective to look at it. LR changed my life.

I have been a member of Lucille Roberts since they opened. I take as many classes with as many different instructors I can and every instructor I have taken is great. I love the fact that it is an all-womens gym, they offer a wide variety of classes for women with different levels of fitness, they have different equipment and offer specialized classes. I just read a negative review about Scottie one of the instructors at LR and I totally disagree with the reviewer. Scottie is one of the best instructors at LR. She is high energy, experienced and knows the proper techniques. She uses lighter weights with more repetition to create lean muscles. She is concerned the members may get hurt if they use heavier weights. I have heard Scottie compliment members on their weight loss and motivates the members to do the best possible. Scottie motivates me to work harder. I wish Scottie had more early evening classes because she is an asset to LR. Not everyone is going to like every instructor or every class, in that case dont take them. Bashing and calling out someone on social media is cowardly. Negative comments hurt someones reputation. If a member or guest feels they have been called out, the right thing, adult thing to do is discuss it after class with the instructor to get the issue resolved. I really hope members wont let a negative review influence their decision to take Scotties classes. Youre missing out on a great workout if you do.

Came to join my mother for a class as a guest. The 7:30pm class w/Scotty, started off by her saying one of the class members was "all kinds of stupid" for not rolling up her mat on the microphone. We started with back flys and I grabbed my 8lb dumbbells and was following her instructions. Scotty, stopped the class and asked on the mic how much weight I had and that it was too heavy, I was a little embarrassed and just told her o.k. and grabbed 5lbs to continue as she instructed. Scotty then puffs up her shoulders to mock me, and said "You dont want to look like a football player"..."heavy weight wont get you there quicker, it will just bulk you up ladies."..."lean lean, we want lean"...this was all on the microphone and in front of the entire class. I cant believe a woman in the fitness industry, who is suppose to be a role model and empower woman would behave and talk with this demeanor. Yes, Scotty I am muscular and have a broad build-I compete in Olympic weightlifting and I am training for Nationals. I dont look like your typical Lucille Roberts members, but shame on you. And P.S. I do back flys with 25lbs the 8lbs would have been alright :)

Anyone who says good things about this place must work there or own the company. I joined this club 6 months ago and just cancelled my membership. First of all, the place is ALWAYS OVER-PACKED with people. So you must wait and wait to get on the 3 different (yes, 3) cardio machines they offer. They do not care about your comfort, they just want as many people to join$$ their gym as possible. Since they are always filled to capacity, the tiny room this "Health Club" is enclosed in becomes a literal steambath. There is little to no air conditioning so the moisture in the air is unbelievable. You go in with straight hair and end up looking like Shirley Temple within 10 minutes. I guess their definition of health club means literally having a sauna experience while working out. The worst part about the club is the manager who is always behind the front desk talking down to everyone. She is just rude and condescending. Please do not join this gym. There are so many other places that offer much better service and fitness machine options (my basement has a better selection of gym equipment)

I went into Lucille in Clifton NJ hoping to switch my membership from Kearny to Clifton (closer to home). I was actually pretty willing to pay the extra fee for the "gold" membership. When I got there I was never greeted at the door. I could probably just have gotten on one of the machines and nobody would even know that I didnt have a membership. When I decided to ask about the transfer process the girl at the door was decorating a poster and acted like I was bothering her. She then spoke to me while staring at the poster instead of giving me any type of customer service and rolled her eyes a few times when Id ask her to repeat or better explain something. Although I was seriously thinking of continuing my membership I am now going to get on the Lucille website and cancel. She was rude and by her attitude it looks like they must have enough business... they dont need mine. I would prefer to go to LA Fitness where the gym is bigger, the classes are good, locker rooms are available and it has basket ball court and a pool not to mention that I get a friendly face as I walk in.

I have been an active member at Lucille Roberts for over 3 years now, and it has become so much more than a gym to me. At Lucille Roberts I have developed relationships with employees, who make me want to come to the gym and workout everyday. In addition to the amazing classes and equipment they have, I also have been working out with a personal trainer for over a year now. This has been such a life changing experience that i will eternally be grateful for. I never in my life thought that coming to the gym would be something I actually look forward to or get excited to do. This gym has allowed me to be confident in myself and instilled a work ethic in me that I never had before. The comfort level present at this all-womens gym is also another outstanding aspect of LR. I never walk in here worried about how I look or how ridiculous I might look. Additionally, many of my family members are members here as well. Lucille Roberts has become like a second home to me and I am forever grateful for the positive changes it has made in my life and the lives of those closest to me.
