I am not a member here, however went today to try out a 4-day pass. One of the personal trainers took me in and asked if i wanted a "trial" workout with him to what I said yes. He was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Once done he went over the personal trainning prices. Afterwards, I requested prices for the membership, something he needed a representative to answer for me. Camila, the rep came over and starting asking the normal questions asked prior to someone giving you a sales pitch. After I said "hey, i just want prices" she told she could not give me prices unless i was ready to sign up right then and there. Right away I was annoyed, as no one should be forced to make these type of decisions on the spot. She proceeded to question me as to why I could not sign up right away. At this moment I am done with her, however in an effort to be polite I explained that I would need to think about it and speak to my husband about it as we always discuss financial decisions together. Camila, with no business ethics whatsoever proceeds to ask me "how long have you been married for, and what is your relationship with your husband like" i said again;politely- the amount of years and that we had a close relationship. She anwers me "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO TELL HIM, shouldnt he be happy you join a gym to look good and what if he says no, you should just do it." Obviously at this point I had lost it, she had already gotten to personal with the questions, but now because she is simply trying to sell me something she is questioning my personal choices and literally invading my private life. I WAS BAFFLED. The way this lady cornered me was extremely disrespectful, even the personal trainer was so uncomfortable at this point. i asked them if i was going to get price or not, and that i just DID NOT UNDERSTANSD HOW HARD IT WAS TO JUST GIVE ME PRICES. The rep calls another woman at this point, i think Gabi. She initially was very polite, but after pushing me to sign up RIGHT AWAY, and seeing my hesitation to think about it and speak to my husband about it; she took the same approach. I literally said "am i going to get prices, or should i just get up and leave." This lady Gabi was condescending at all times after she realized I was not ready to pay and sign up right away. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE- Had this type experience and I truly would never go there or recommend friends or family. Furthermore, I should have read their reviews on Facebook, Yelp, and here... It seems everyone for the most part is unhappy at this place.

I joined la fitness in september 2010 and just ended my membership. I have to say it wasnt worth the price. My first complaint is how unsanitary the place is. During the peak hours, there are hardly any paper towels or disinfectant to wipe down the machines. On top of that you barely see anybody, wipe down or try to wipe down any machines. I made many complaints to the front desk and trainers about this. Only within my last month there did they start to try to clean the place up a little bit. You have to be on crack or live in a dumpster to seriously consider this place "clean". Just look at how cloudy the pool is. The gym has too many members. On top of that, any member can bring a guest whenever they please. A couple months ago one of the trainers told me that they opening a new location in little falls and maybe that would make it less crowded. I doubt it. The crazy thing is is that theres still a line for new memberships. Parking is a huge issue. It could take me sometimes 15 mins to find a parking space. I thought the classes were lackluster, nothing to rave about. I have no issue waiting for a treadmill, but dont shout over the loudspeaker that there is a 30 min limit on cardio machines. There should never be a limit. On top of that when the place is closing dont expect to get a warm goodbye. Ive been pushed out the door. I just joined Signature in Belleville and its like a breath of fresh air. I also see so many people from LA Fitness there too.

On Jan 11, 2015 I went to gym to add my daughter to my account ($29.95 a Month), so as a incentive the guys offer me that if I joined that day he will waive the activation about fee $30 , so the total will be around $60 , so my daughter can start using the gym. then we process all paperwork, new membership and photo for my daughter (F21052451), so we left the gym She never used, hours later I check my chase statement I so a charge: 01/12/2015 Debit Card Transaction LAF-CLIFTON CLIFTON NJ 01/11 $90.84, so I call the guy intimidating and he said he will fixed and refund the overcharged, I told my Daugherty no to use the gym until they fixed.. 2 day pass call back and still claiming the manager is fixing , call back again and still not refund for the overcharged, so I decided to cancel my membership for my daughter that she never step into the Gym, I went to the gym and they print out cancellation form, sent via mail to Irvine CA Headquarters and the I follow we the gym for the refund ,they transfer me over customer service to inform me that I loose the 2 month because I was obligate to use according the contract and they will refund the $30 anytime soon, as a today no refund o nothing. This gym is really scam people, very rude customer services and no class .Is not fear to someone lose money for buying a product that never meet the requirement ,Why I should lose $91 just like that .

Im not sure what all the fuss is in regards to Route 3 LA Fitness. I personally love the gym. So heres a rundown Pros: The staff are extremely friendly and yes its their job to be but its nice when people actually adhere to customer service principles. The location is kept clean, with the minor paper towel spillages but its never for longer than a few minutes. Their is a large amount of equiptment avaliable in each of the designated sections of the gym. They have a nice selections of classes that personally appeal to my varied schedule The locker room is kept pretty neat...maybe there was a change from previous reviews. But its very nice and clean. Sometimes the floor is extra wet but thats just lazy people who dont dry properly. Trainers are friendly and know what they are doing...my friend has had an amazing transformation in the past few weeks. The smoothies are amazing!!! The meal replacement banana split protien drink is out of this world. They also are quick problem solvers Cons_ It can be a bit packed but its just at peak hours and honestly is expected for a place in such a primo location Intiation fees can be a very steep if your looking for a simple membership...however all you have to do is haggle a bit and they will go down to a level your comfortable at .... For the location itself i think its great.

This location has gone down hill in the past year or two. I started using this gym 4 years ago because its close to my house and I have lots of friends who go there so there is always someone to spot me. When I first started using that gym 4 years ago, the staff was completely different and had pride in the place they worked. Every hour or two everyone from the sales staff to the trainers would carpet bomb the gym and pick up weights, clean up trash, and fix the place up. With everyone doing this it took them like 10 mins to fix the gym up every hour or two. They dont do that anymore and that is the biggest reason this gym is a mess. Weights are all over the place, the place is filthy, machines are always broken, and there is trash everywhere. Now, when staff have nothing to do, when sales are down and trainers have no clients, they would rather just sit there for hours on their phones instead of helping clean up the place. Its due to poor management, they dont enforce rules like they use to. There are common machines that everyone uses everyday that have been broken for months! Weights are missing because the trainers like to hide them in their personal closets in the gym because they feel their clients need them more since they pay extra.
