I have been getting my hair done at Splitenz since they first opened (at least 3 years, I think) and have known most of the stylists before that. The owner of Splitenz, Zee, has been cutting my hair for about 15 years, give or take (I was like a groupie, following her from salon to salon). I have difficult hair and have gone from long to short back to long and now even shorter and one thing has always remained the same: people are *always* complimenting my hair and asking where I get it cut!! I have also known – and watched – the other hairdressers at Splitenz for a long time and they are all so talented. Ive seen amazing cuts, colors (of various techniques) and the work they do with wigs (which they specialize in – check their website) is nothing short of miraculous. Just recently, at their holiday party for staff and clients, I was able to watch several different techniques (and when I say “different” - I mean “things Id never seen before”) that stylists use/have in their bag of tricks for “occasion hair.” SO cool. Plus they have a make-up artist, who I just want to bring home with me. Finally, but maybe most important, is the atmosphere. As I said, I followed Zee from salon to salon. None of these salons themselves were to my liking, and Ill just leave it at that. Splitenz Salon Studio is a boutique salon that could easily fit in a SoHo storefront. Everything was carefully chosen to be functional but also beautiful to look at. And, Ive tried to think of a better way to put this, but... well, you walk in and the staff are all so warm and welcoming, and that quickly spreads to the other clients – you kind of feel like you are walking into a boutique salon version of “Cheers”! (If thats possible!) Clearly, I cant say enough good things about Splitenz Salon Studio. Im making my next appointment tomorrow!

My recent visit to Splitenz was the most luxurious experience Ive had at a hair salon! The personal and genuine attention began as soon as I walked in the door. I was politely greeted from behind the counter, quickly offered a cup of coffee or tea to be made for me and a direction was given as to where to hang my coat. My stylist, Dana, then warmly welcomed me and brought me over to her chair for a consultation. Dana has colored and cut my hair several times over the years. The visit is always memorable and comforting. We discussed what highlights would be put in and what haircut she was going to do. After my highlights were finished, I was welcomed to the sink to have my hair washed. Thats a pure understatement. The comforting gentleman that shampooed and conditioned my hair also gave me THE BEST scalp massage that I have ever been given. I was in Heaven! Dana then cut and styled my hair perfectly! I left feeling completely pampered and beyond satisfied with my experience.Go to Splitenz!! You will not regret it!

WOW! I just returned from this salon. It was my first visit and my appointment was with Jessica who far exceeded all my expectations. This is the best my hair has looked in over 20 years and by far the best cut I have ever received. In addition, the color/highlights are simply perfect. This is maybe the first time that I can say that I love my hair! Jessica was a great listener and took the time (I never felt rushed) to understand what I wanted specific to color , hair style, and overall, how I wanted to look. She asked me a lot of questions as well as encouraged me to search google for some hair styles that I liked for us to review together. While reviewing the images she was able to tell me what cuts would work/wouldnt work. She was extremely detailed oriented and made certain that my hair looked perfect prior to my leaving (e.g. she fussed). Lastly, she took before and after pictures! I highly recommend Jessica and the Splitenz Salon Studio.

I really cant understand what all the hype is about, I had my hair cut by Suemarie 8 years ago and she did a horrible job! I walked out after spending $43.00 for something that wasnt worth $1.00! Now they want$50.00 and up for a hair cut! Ive also had Cheryl cut my hair many years ago at Clintonian which was a salon in Clinton at the time and all she ever did was practically cut all my hair off! I tried her again many years later to give her another chance and this time she was at Reginas that took over the former Clintonian location and the same thing happened! I will never go there again and be subject to the same out come again. Zee I read you response to me and you know after 8 years it really does not matter, I only went on to the site out of curiosity to see what others had to say. I appreciate the offer, but after that if i decide to come back the price will be $50 plus a tip and I cannot possibly afford that.

After seeing all the great reviews, I decided to try this salon. The receptionist answered promptly and was friendly and even gave me directions to the salon and got me in that day. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked if I found it okay. The stylist Anna Marie was so personable and welcomed me to the area since I moved here in August. She took 10 minutes to listen to what I wanted as well as make her suggestions. I received an excellent shampoo as well as a cut that I love! At the end, they set me up with a complimentary hand moisturizing glove and warmer. Overall, it was the best experience I could have dreamed of and am so happy with the results. I will definitely be going there for my next haircut!

I was invited to be a hair model this past holiday party at Splitendz Salon Studio in Clinton, NJ. It was a great opportunity for the onsite staff to use and display new products. SueMarie did my hair and she did an amazing job. She was so professional and personable. Most salons that I go to dont engage with their customers, but everyone including the owner Zee (who is fabulous), treated me like an old friend. By the end of the night my hair looked amazing and everyone was having a great time. It wasnt just a salon, it felt like a family. I would highly recommend this place to future visitors and I cant wait to go back soon!

I have unruly fizzy curly hair and my experiences with salons are usually not the best as most curly girls will understand. BUT I had a very nice and relaxing experience at this salon. My stylist was Dana. She did a great cut and matched my color perfectly. She used a great leave in conditioner and even gave me samples to take home. Next time i will buy the bottle! I was also provided with a "complimentary" warming hand treatment with nut oils while i waited for my color to set. Smelled and felt felt great on a damp rainy afternoon! Everyone was warm and friendly. I will be going back for sure...Thanks Ladies!

I have been going to Olga for almost 2 years and when she open Splitter Salon Studio it was a no brainier that I would follow her there.She always greets me as if I was the most important client. She listens to what I want done and always deliveries the best results.She colors, highlights and cuts my hair perfectly every time.The staff at Splitter Salon Studious friendly and professional, especially Christina.I would absolutely recommend Splitter Salon Studio to anyone looking for a good hair salon in the Upper West side.
