I joined Planet Fitness prior to its opening in December of 2015. I left my previous gym (WOW) due to the high noise level. The music was much to loud. When I signed up with Nick at this gym I was promised that loud music would not be an issue. I was assured that a more mature crowd of people would be registered as members. One day as I entered the gym I approached Nick and asked him to lower the music and he did. As I was working out I noticed the volume was turned up once again. I approached the desk and Nick informed me that the regional manager Nicole turned up the volume. I approached her and she argued with me . She felt the volume was appropriate. I disagreed. I found her to be most disrespectful and lacking any customer service skills. You do not argue with customers and you dont disrespect your fellow co-workers after they resolved an issue with a member. I contacted the main headquarters twice, issued an email voicing my concerns, and have not received a callback from anyone. I am extremely disappointed regarding this one particular issue of loud music. Even with my headphones on I can hear the facilities music over mine. The gym is very nice and suits my needs. The MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!!! My workout partner has voiced his concern over the loud music as well. As a matter of fact, he was allowed to quit because of an issue he had with carrying a gym bag on the floor. He and his wife both belong to Planet Fitness. He quit one day because of his inability to carry a bag on the gym floor. The regional manager Nicole, instead of offering an alternative solution, allowed him to quit. On the way to another gym I asked my partner to call the regional manager Nicole to ask her he could wear a "fanny pack" on the floor. She said that this would be acceptable. Why did she not offer this simple solution to handle a simple issue from the very beginning? She clearly is lacking the ability to resolve issues using the simplest form of critical thinking skills. Her lack of customer service skills I have also previously mentioned. I would have given a much higher rating if this issue could be resolved. Some of your staff need some retraining with regard to providing good customer service. I hope someone responds back and takes my complaint seriously. If not I will find another place to workout. But before I do I will use every "soundboard" on the internet to voice my concerns. I like your facility. Please lower the music. This is all I ask. I was quite surprised at your response to my complaint. It is as if you did not read it. This is how you respond to a customer offering no resolution to the loud music? "That a bummer....we need to find the sweet spot". I can not believe this response was from a business owner. It sounds quite childish and ridiculous! I will not bring this matter up again. I have tried to talk to your staff and apparently they are complying with your decision to leave the music loud. Please dont patronize me with your comments. I love the place and i love the staff, machines are clean, bathrooms are clean and the whole place is just amazing except one thing that really irritated me. i have been charged $ 54 one shot, I have the black membership which should be $ 19.99 plus tax and i was charged the day before for my monthly membership. I called the place and spoke the manager called Nikkie, first of all she wasnt helpful at all and she asked me to come over to the Gym and she will try to figure it out or refund me the money. I went there and that was the situation that made me really write this. When i reached there with my husband i asked for the manager, she came to the register and i was talking to her and she wasnt even responding me and when i got frustrated from her attitude then her assistant " Peter" came to us and he was trying to check whats going on to the account. I kept talking to her and she never looked at me or replied me, she was talking to her assistant and her assistant was replying me back and then she decided to leave us with Peter and she left without even saying a word to us. I was just wondering how this could be a manager. Her customer service is horrible and she was so rude and nasty. I would love to thank Peter, her assistant so much for being patient to us and taking care of us very professionally. Still i need to report the way i see it is that her assistant should be the manager.

Listen, The gym is good for what is worth, and yes the place in regards to itself is good. However the staff..? Forget it a bunch of pre- schoolers Its sad that a company executes good marketing strategies, finds perfect location and great rates but has poor staffing. Very immature , disrespectful staffs but Not the entire staff. Especially the rude guy Peter. I dont know about anyone else , but as for me I find it very disrespectful, unethical and unprofessional to be making out and touching a female in front of front counter during your shift. Like really? Way to show respect for woman, the company you work for and to yourself. I hope the regional manager and owner address the code of business ethics with his staff. If it wasnt for certain conflicts with the staff I would rate the gym a strong 4 stars.

I attend this gym everyday and I want to commend Nick the manager. Nick goes above and beyond to accommodate members, and he is very helpful. More importantly Nick is approachable and all around a great guy. My wife and I also joined the gym prior to its grand opening. We r so pleased with our experience that we have told all of our friends and family, and have really been giving testimonials to our awesome experience. Hence the membership is growing. Its changed our lives in the boring winter! I suggest if anyone has any complaints to put it on paper as for a letter goes a long way...I plan on writing one to compliment Nick and his staff under him! He should be promoted! All the stupid comments and jokes about Planet Fitness not being a real gym is ridiculous! I work at a gym and Planet Fitness is as much a gym as anywhere else! I love that I can feel comfortable in the free-weight area and not worry about feeling judged on my "form". This is a GREAT place to get started if you dont even know where to start. Staff is friendly as well and the facility is extremely clean! I thoroughly enjoy coming here and would definitely recommend it - for $10 a month you cant beat it!

I agree with one of the other reviews regarding space and stretching area. Plus could use more mats small dumbells..but the thing that really gets me us the front staff in early am..major attitudes as if they were soloing me,the member, a favor when asking to turn up fan..or not even there to swipe in..just leave the scanner so you do it yourself or on the computer doing something and you swipe yourself in...looking for another gym to join!!
