This review is for the Manalapan location of Workout World. I joined about a month ago (July 2017) and was told that by law I could cancel within three days of signing the contract. I learned that I may still owe dues for my gym ( that just closed) so I decided to cancel. I was directed to a kiosk to cancel my Workout World registration. I was not given any confirmation that my cancellation was received on the screen or by email. I went in the next day in person and asked for something in writing that proved that my cancellation was received. I told the person behind the desk that once my other membership was officially cancelled, I would consider rejoining Workout World. The person at the front desk, who told me that she was a manager, was that it was not their policy to do that. I told her I wasnt leaving until she gave me something in writing. She told me that she was unable to print it out. I repeated that I would not leave until I had something in writing. Finally she went in the back and printed a cancellation confirmation for me but made it clear that she was very inconvenienced. I dont think that my request was unreasonable. While I was there, I heard another person calling to cancel their membership and they were instructed to use the kiosk. That is not a good way to treat customers. When I asked her why she didnt just write or print a cancellation right away, she said something like, "you have it now, dont you?" and then she ignored me.

I would rate this gym 5 stars but the hours suck and for the serious people who never miss the gym and cant make it till midnight or after work cause you know not everyone works a 9 to 5 job or if they were to busy on a Sunday morning and wanted to go to gym at night they should be open 24 hours and stop being cheap you only need 1 employee there at night and no one can get in without scanning there card to get in also if they had a sauna but I was told from staff that wow gym had several Sauna fires which is just ridiculous they should of just lied and said that it was hardly used.Ive been to alot of gyms and saunas are pretty simple and only way you can have a sauna fire is if the company who installed it didnt know what they were doing or the quality is just garbage or somebody intentionally put it on fire for insurance purposes but to have more than one sauna fire is pretty funny but other than that gym is clean and I have never seen equipment out of order

The front desk girl (Amanda) scammed me into over paying for a membership. She said that they do not offer a month to month contract however they had it posted all over their gym poster screens saying that you can sign up for a month to month deal until July 1st (I signed up June 28th). As soon as i got home that day i also got something in the mail offering memberships for less than half of what I am paying now with no enrollment fee. Either she was incompetent or she deliberately scammed me. Do not count on them to be honest or fair. Do you research before you walk in. Shame on me for trusting them.

I love work out world in a whole. Been a member for many years but this gym is my least favorite. Past two times Ive been they have had a bad habit of turning off the lights the last 5 to ten minutes before they close. When lifting heavy weights and trying to focus what you are about to do. The last thing I want is all the lights turning off as Im holding and balancing my weight. Safety should be their #1 concern. I havent witnessed this at the other wow gyms. Just here.

I walked in to talk about a membership and wanted to set up some training sessions. The staff was incredibly rude and told me that I can explore training sessions after I join. If this is how they treat potential customers i would hate to see how they act if I joined. I guess they did my a favor
