I like this place b/c it has different workout equipment than Im used to. Its clean. Its never really crowded. If you sign up, do the 7-day trial first. They have this thing called an assessment - where this "expert" (who will tell you he has a degree fifty million times) tests you to see if you can do certain exercises, which is fine except.. he spends the whole time telling you "generally how you suck and are fat." Then, he tries to get you to do physical tests that know normal person - who is not an olympian - can do to confirm how much you suck. It was a completely humiliating and embarrassing experience. And the guy, lets just call him Shill, is a complete self-important, smug, belittling, condescending douchebag - avoid him at all costs. Avoid this assessment. Just for the record - he told me I could "cure" my knee problem with doing the right exercises - even my doctor wouldnt say that. Never take medical advice from someone who is not a doctor no matter how enamored they are of their degree and themselves. Bad idea. That should have been my queue to walk out on his hard core sales pitch anyway. But I didnt... so that day, I walked in feeling great and inspired by the last trainer I met there (most of the people are really nice), but I had to leave when Shill started doing some kind of head game on my confidence. Id cancel the contract - but you only have 3 days after you sign up to do that. That is why I am saying DO THE SEVEN-DAY TRIAL FIRST. Dont get locked into a contract you may regret. Just dont.

This is absolutely one amazing gym. Due to my travels I had to set my training aside. I finally got a break in my work travel to go back to it. I stopped in to see Will to talk to him about starting training. Im not sure why I didnt stop in sooner to see him. He made the whole process of fitting working out into my travel schedule effortless. He first had me do some exercises that demonstrated my strengths and weaknesses. This gave him an idea of where I needed the most help working out. Not sure why all gyms don’t follow this approach. Then he explained how I can still train while I’m away for work. Creating a plan for me was super helpful for me to keep up with my exercise. After all of that he matched me up with a trainer that would be best for me. Once you sit with Will you find out that he really cares about his job as well as seeing people get into shape. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable with the training and it’s meeting your needs and goals which you were hoping to achieve. It’s been about 2 months and I love it. I can’t thank him enough for all that he does for Urge. He continues to show people that working out is important and that it can be accomplished even outside of the gym.

Would be cool if everyone would stop bombing on the customer service. Its a gym... Literally every other review here gives them 1 star because customer service. Doing a week pass, the weights/machines are well maintained (my main issue with retro fitness) the gym is not insanely packed, there is plenty of variety for you to work through. They have some equipment Ive never seen before and Im excited to get my hands on. Gym is quite large and well equipped. If youre looking to swap from Hamilton retro, or Planet I highly reccomend giving this baby a shot, check it out they give free week passes. And personally I think the customer service is not that bad, just dont be an idiot and read what they give you and listen to what they tell you at sign up so it wont be a suprise later on. Retro too has a cancellation fee that some ignorant individuals dont seem to be aware of even though they inform you about it at sign up... Once my cencallation contract (aka 2months) is up with retro I will be jointing. Please stop misinforming people who read theses to see what the gym is all about with customer service bullshit.

After returning home from living in Las Vegas I was in serious need of a gym! I visited various facilities in the area but found that Urge Fitness was exactly what I needed. They provide the usual equipment and free weights, a ton of great classes and personal training. I was very interested in the personal training sessions and decided to give it a shot. I have had the opportunity to work with Will Carpenter for majority of my sessions and I couldnt be happier with my experience and results. Will is extremely talented and very knowledgeable and will customize your session based on your personal needs and goals. Not only is it a great facility with a lot to offer, it is also extremely affordable. The people are great too! The front desk staff are wonderful and always helpful, the trainers are very knowledgeable and motivating and the maintenance staff keeps the place spotless. This is a really great facility run by really great people and I encourage everyone looking for a gym to stop into Urge Fitness and check it out; you wont regret it!

Im a new member at Urge Fitness and I have to say so far I love it! I had my fitness evaluation with Will the other day and it was unlike any other health clubs. It was so helpful in showing me what I need to do to not only get my goals physically but also how to relieve unnecessary pain that I have been feeling through working the supporting muscles around it. He knows his stuff inside and out and genuinely cares about individuals. The system that he uses is so effective at testing your strengths and weaknesses pertaining to real life activity. How is anybody going to know how to get fit and toned if they are not tested properly and shown what path they need to take? I am so glad I am not just guessing on what to do and now know exactly what is essential for my body to flourish. This assessment should be the first thing you do when you walk through the doors. It is not only insightful but it builds confidence within you that you can realistically achieve any goal you could ever want.

When I first started working out at URGE Fitness, I would pretty much do my same old weight-lifting and treadmill/exercise bike routine. One of the trainers, Will, approached me randomly and introduced me to a few explosive plyometric exercises on the turf/training area that target the same muscle groups, but in a much more effective and functional means. Now Im hooked, enjoying weekly sessions with Will! On my own time Im still weightlifting and using the cardio machines - but with actual purpose now - as parts of a structured, goal-oriented routine! I actually applied for a job at URGE Fitness soon after finding the facility, and had the pleasure of becoming an employee! I would wholeheartedly resume my paid membership, though, as the unique training equipment + amazing guidance Ive received are truly what make URGE unique. (It is also an amazing and fulfilling place to work as I get first-hand witness to the change and positivity people introduce into their lives!)
