DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, ESPECIALLY FOR CHIMNEY AND FIREPLACE CLEANING! Two young men came to clean my chimney and fireplace. They came into my home and literally, just looked at my fireplace and walked out. Then one of them went up on the roof and looked down the chimney. They told me, " dont worry, we know what we are doing.". Well they sure did. They NEVER came back into my home to clean the fireplace. When I asked them how much the bill was, they told me $200.00!!! They said that my chimney was dirty. Of course it was, that is why I was having it cleaned! Then when I asked if everything on the chimney looked ok, he said that a small area of the sheeting around the base of the chimney was abit loose, " not a big deal". I asked him how much it would cost to replace it and he told me $2,000.00!! Then he said that he could just do a little caulking and that would take care of it. When I asked him how much, he told me $200.00. Since I didnt know of anyone else that I could call to check out the chimney AND placed my trust in such a " nice person ", I told him to go ahead and take care of the problem. I wish I had gone out into the backyard and watched what they were doing because they were back in my house in less than 10 minutes! I had another chimney/fireplace company give me an estimate just to see what they would say about the cleanliness of my chimney. I was advised that the chimney was clean only half way down from the top. When they checked the fireplace and the lower half of the chimney they asked me why that part was so dirty, including a large amount of soot collected on the " elbow " in the lower part of the chimney! I called the local fire marshall and explained the situation, giving A 1 Everlasts name and the details of what had happened. He strongly advised me not to use the fireplace with all the soot on the " elbow, " a serious fire would happen! Spoke with " Pat ", the owner of A 1 Everlast, who said that he asked the 2 men who provided the chimney service and they denied everything that I told him. When I told Pat that another chimney company had given me an estimate and their findings, he said, and I quote, " of course they are going to tell you that the chimney is dirty, " THAT IS HOW THIS BUSINESS WORKS! ". Pat started screaming at me and saying that I was one of " those " people who picks things apart and likes to make trouble." Pat reluctantly refunded me $100.00. The caulking charge was $200.00 and the only reason he did the refund for the caulking was because on the receipt, the fraudulent, scheming and very dishonest employees did not go into detail on the caulking work. Not only did they do this to me, a senior, he also did it on the same day to my elderly next door neighbor! They charged her $75.00 for cleaning only half of her chimney. They make up their own prices! I have reported A1Everlast to the Better Business Bureau and to Consumer Affairs. It is obvious that there are employees at A1Everlast who take advantage of seniors. What makes it worse, is that these 2 employees have fooled the owner just like they have fooled my neighbor and myself! I even asked the owner to come to my home and inspect my fireplace to confirm my accusations and he never responded. I dont think A1Everlast even deserves one star, but, I had to select something.

A1 Everlast is excellent and I highly recommend them. They were contracted for masonry work, to rebuild front brick steps and chimney, as well as siding work. The jobs were reasonably priced, and they did excellent work. Their representative, Anthony was great to work with. He was very well organized, very attentive, and highly responsive, returning my calls and email same day, often right away, fully answering any question I had. He communicated openly and was very willing to work with me. He was very pleasant to work with, and truly seemed to care to help and provide value. In the end, Anthony also proved to be true to his word. Anthony scheduled the work right away, and they completed the job quickly. It as a massive production… They showed up when they said they would, arrived with three trucks and many workers who worked on various jobs simultaneously/separately to get it all done quickly, with some working on the chimney, others on the front steps, and yet others on the siding. At the end of the day, they needed some more time to allow for the concrete of the front steps to dry, and told me they would need to return the next day to finish-up, and again, they showed up early the next morning to complete the job as they said they would. I was also happy to see Anthony spent the day overseeing all the work and helping to ensure my wishes and their high quality were met. When I arrived, Anthony was right in the mix. Anthony shared many pictures with me as the work progressed which was very helpful. Pat also went by on the second day to help complete the job and helped ensure all was well done. Each day, they removed all debris and left everything in great condition. Neighbors even dropped by to see them in action, and Anthony and A1 Everlast greeted them very kindly and professionally. It was no surprise that the neighbors were as impressed as I was, and requested their contact info for other jobs. I learned during the job that A1 Everlast also recently started installing/replacing windows, and the estimate Anthony supplied was also very reasonable. If I had known sooner, and hadn’t already contracted with another company, I would have certainly asked them to install the new windows too. There were no surprises in the end. The extra touches they threw-in at no extra cost also helped set them apart even further. After the job was done, Anthony and Pat checked to ensure I was fully satisfied. I thank them for a job well done. They are true professionals and I plan to use them again.

Awful experience. Most of the reception staff is VERY rude; especially this guy named "Mike". They do not seem to stand behind their work and they have no concept of customer satisfaction or courtesy. One two separate experiences, they left me hanging. The first time, they scheduled a work for mon AM - taking my deposit. All of that monday, I hear nothing and certainly no one shows up. I called later on in the day to figure out what the deal is and they say: they rescheduled it. Of course, it would have been nice if they let me know...when I point out that this is pretty discourteous, they get angry at me! This guy Mike starts yelling into the phone about how theyll reschedule it (implicit in his tone -- that these things happen, whats the big deal). They eventually come to repair some of the stucco - amazingly they DO NOT have the stucco color - and ask me if I had any left over. Fortunately I did, otherwise they would have left it as grey concrete mixture - (there would have been a grey concrete smear "mixed" with the light California stucco in the face of house). I had to call them back b/c they did not blend the colors well. Of course, its like pulling teeth to get them to come back; impossible it cant look back they say.....until I send them the picture...and then they agree to come. They schedule for sat AM. Sat comes around, no one shows and no phone calls telling me what happened. I call them again, and I unfortunately get "Mike" again. Who again is very angry - as if I, the customer, is wasting his time by calling him; how dare I call to let them they did not show up again. He says, somebody might come. When I try to pin him down for a more exact time, or offer to change to another date when I can be sure they WILL come..he again gets angry and yells out someone will be there this afternoon. Over-all very unprofessional. They have no concept of courtesy - they do not seem to take pride in their work. Their "guarantee" of their work is not worth paper its written on. I have no confidence, if something came up inadequate in their work that they will fix it properly.
