Im disappointed to write the review I am writing. After now three+ weeks of phone calls, emails and attempted contact, nothing has been resolved and all I have received is empty promises of resolution. I STRONGLY suggest you look elsewhere for moving services. On May 18th, the day before the move, they called to see if I could change the time or date of the agreed move, a fine but impossible option as my wife was (and still currently is) 9 months pregnant. They had double booked for the morning of May 19th, but they did work out the schedule and said they would send five guys to have the move go quickly. Day of the move, three guys show up and all in all, the packing of the truck was going smoothly despite the lack of two people. Two of the guys were about to carry my large and very heavy 170 bottle wine cellar down three flights of stairs without an appliance dolly or any sort of assistance when I asked how theyre planning on doing this, wine cellars parts are pretty fragile and this single piece was the entire reason I decided to hire a moving crew. They said they had it under control and I trusted them as they were apparently "professionals". I stayed behind to finish cleaning the apartment and turn in my keys, on my way to the house, my wife tells me they broke a mirrored dresser and heavily scratched the antique cedar chest. I arrived home and saw (and currently see) a 3" crack through one of the antique mirrored drawers of my wifes Crate and Barrel dresser and two gouges (14" and 6") the cedar chest side and top, which my wife tells me they never covered with a blanket or protected in any way for transport. The foreman gives me Rolandos number, and he said in broken english I "need to work it out with Rolando". I describe the broken and damaged items, including my worries about the wine cellar and its integrity, and Rolando tells me to email pictures and he will "take care of it by the end of the week". I sent a detailed and picture filled email that night after I finished at work and then a whole lot of nothing happened. Flash forward to today, now almost a full month since the move. Rolando has told me to talk to Dean as he is only the Regional Manager and Dean is the owner, but despite calling a varying times, Dean never seems to be in, very coincidental timing that he is never in for weeks at a time when I call. The wine cellar does not cool or even regulate temperature (a REALLY big paper weight now as it is useless in its current form), the cracked mirrored dresser is no longer available for replacement pieces to be ordered, and the antique cedar chest is just as gouged as when they moved it. Oh, and my 40+ week pregnant wife is still pregnant. I have called a minimum of 15 times, left messages, spoken to all sorts of people (Meggan was the first person I spoke to that spoke with honesty when she told me she has no idea if Dean will call me back). I am literally only asking for resolution and a conversation. Instead, all I get is everyone telling me to speak to someone else or taking my number, which has never been called by Star City Moving, and never an apology for wasting my time. I beg of anyone looking for a moving company to chose someone else, or just pray they have more courteous and careful movers than we had. I hope for a resolution to the move before my soon to be born son turns 8, but Im not holding my breath. ______ Update, Dean contacted me about a week ago, sent me a check quickly to cover a small portion of the damages. I cant say I was happy with the overall experience, but I couldnt be happier to be done.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! I can not stress this enough! Star city movers made an already stressful move even more stressful! It was such a horrible experience that I really couldnt believe that it was my reality. I had an appointment time between 1 & 2 pm for a Friday. Even confirmed with KC the field manager at 10am to make sure. 2pm came and I called KC to find out what was going on with my movers. He replied that he would call me right back. Never heard back from him the entire day!!! I called the main office and spoke to a gentleman named Kerry who tried his best to help me figure out what was going on from the office site. He said that the drivers truck broke down which I later found out was a lie. 4 pm came around and still no word of where my movers were at all. Called the main office again and there was no answer. Finally one of the movers contacted me at around 4:30 and said that they ran late with a previous appointment. Well thanks for telling me youre running late after 2 hours of no information! So he told me that they were on their way and that they were coming from New Jersey. I was moving from New York to New Jersey and now had to wait for the movers to come in rush hours traffic on a Friday afternoon! The movers called me to tell me they were stuck in traffic and if I wanted to reschedule. I went off! I said I cannot reschedule because I have work the next two days and I have to be out of my apartment by the 31st and thats why I scheduled them for today! So the movers finally made it to my house at 9:30pm! Almost 8 hours late!!! The 3 men walked through my door with an attitude as if they were annoyed that they had to move my things. They didnt finish moving my items until 1:15am! Then we still had to drive to New Jersey which was 1 & 1/2 hour commute. They arrived to my new apartment after me at 3:30 am. The 3 men argued continuously amongst themselves throughout the entire move. Their unprofessionalism was beyond words! At one point one of the movers argued that my bed frame wouldnt fit through my second bedroom door and if they could move it into another room. I told them no because the bed was suppose to be in the room designated for it. They had absolutely no tools on them to take apart my bed frame to fit it through the door. 6:45 am came and the driver of the truck said that they couldnt put my bedframe and other furniture back together because they had another appointment to attend to. So I was left with my things disassembled and to make matters worse I had no sleep and had to get ready for work at that point. I really think this place needs to go out of business because I have never in my life had such a horrible experience. I can honestly say that this was the worst day of my life.

We too, had a horrendous experience with Starcity. I cannot even name all the things that went wrong with our move to GA. Starting with no confirmation days before we were to move, the experience went from disconcerting to nightmarish on the day of the move. As others have stated, StarCity arrived more than 4 hours late, blaming the situation on traffic on the GW bridge. When they arrived they were woefully unprepared, instead of showing up with two large trucks, yes we do have a gargantuan amount of stuff, they showed up with a small truck and a tiny one, the wrong car tow, and fewer men than were promised. Dean was not available for response though we were told that he was going to come and was on his way repeatedly throughout the day. Since they were overwhelmed by the job and needed to get additional trucks and the correct tow the move went on till midnight that night and continued till 5pm the next day. As far as furniture being wrapped many items were treated with no care whatsoever, and some things were wrapped with such abandon that the wrapping itself caused damage. Can you believe they actually broke our mattress? The move was unbelievable from the day of the move till the end, more than six weeks later. My things arrived wet. How, I have no idea but two boxes of clothing were more than damp, smelly and needed to be washed. The trucks were packed every which way with reckless abandon, I dont think it could have been done more poorly if they had tried. Innumerable things arrived with damage, which broke our hearts as many items were valuable and well loved antiques. At no time did anyone in StarCity apologize or take any responsibility for the situation, blaming everything on the estimator, that purportedly was asked to leave the company due to his bad estimates, and us. (If I had an employee that I removed due to poor performance, I would make sure any work in process was rechecked). What we didnt pack the mattress? We expected our things to actually be delivered? Yes, we did expect that our moving company would move us instead of storing our items for weeks, delivering them piecemeal and telling us to be grateful that we werent being charged for storage and how much of an expense, that storage of items we wanted delivered, was to Dean. I could go on and on. The situation was appalling. I have never in my life experienced anything that even approached this horror. I also cannot believe that this company is allowed to be in business. Perhaps instead of taking care of their business, they spend their time writing their own reviews, because I cannot believe that they are even capable of delivering the kind of wonderful service that others report.
