I would get rid of some of the front desk staff. Huge miscommunication between the Staff members. I am a black card memeber and have been with planet for 4 years never used the guest option until recently. Staff memeber at this location stated the massages and tanning beds were only for memebers and not guest so my guest could not use it. A few days later a woman in front of me had asked if her guest is allowed to use the massages and they said yes. Another incident I scheduled a session with a trainer and took off from work. Showed up at 6am and the staff was puzzled by the appointment. They said the trainer would be in by 11am and that he doesnt come in at 6 ( claimed the sign up sheets were outdated. Then why have them out??) frustrated I rescheduled it later that day when they said he would be there according to his schedule. This time as it got closer to the time I called them to see if he was in and they told me he left for the day 4 hours prior. So why wouldnt you oh i dont know CALL the customer?? To add the front desk staff has a "I dont care" attiditude I would honestly hire staff that is not only well informed but also professional. Customers should not be waiting for service while staff looks at them and just sits playing on their phone.

Ive been coming here since this location opened, as a matter of fact, I worked here for a little over a year only on the weekend. This facility is usually very clean & not as crowded since they opened the Elizabeth location; the equipment is pretty descent but like all gyms go through periods of break down. The positive thing is the price, its very affordable $10 & $20 memberships, the choice to have or not to have a contract, 24 hours 7 days a week access except a couple of holidays. The negative, no child care, classes, personal trainers, saunas or pool, but you get what you pay for; I cant believe how people use to get mad about Planet Fitness not having those things, are you serious? For $10? Everything isnt for everybody, for the price PF serves the person, especially if you get the opportunity to try their fitness coach for no additional cost. Now hit the gym.

It really depends what you are looking for. If you are not very picky about your workouts, and you are okay with using a bunch of machines, this place is perfect. They have more machines than you can shake a stick at. But if you are looking for free weights, or if you are a more advanced gym-goer, this might not be the right place for you. They dont have any barbells that allow you to switch weights. (and the barbells they do have are not standard size/width.) The heaviest dumbbell they have is 75-lb. Again, for most people that are just looking for general fitness and to sweat it out, this is fine. Their black card is a great deal, as you can bring a guest any time for free. This also gives you access to free tanning, hydro massage, etc. Great deal, but the lack of proper free weights was a big turn off for me, personally.

I have been attending Planet Fitness since I moved into the area. Love the gym in Linden and now that they opened one up in Elizabeth, I go to Linden on weekdays and Elizabeth on weekends as that one as it is closer to home. I have only one complaint regarding the Elizabeth one in which I was told that we could only attend for ten sessions as they were not my home club??? Dont remember seeing that in the agreement but doesnt matter. I still go and no one says anything. It will be a year in May that I have been attending and have only lost 5 lbs. but I dont feel as tired as I was before and got into one size smaller in pants. Will keep going as I did not gain my weight in one year rather over several years so I plan on giving my workout more time. Thank you.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS DIRTY GYM. I WAS THERE 2 TIMES AND THE 2 TIMES THE PLACE WAS UNBELIEVABLE DIRTY. I COULD NOT EVEN HAVE A SHOWER, THERE WAS NOT PAPER TO CLEAN THE MACHINES, AND GARBAGE ALL OVER THE PLACE. AND THE MANAGER IMANI BRYANT CHARGE ME 5.35 EVEN WHEN I TOLD HER I WAS FROM THE PLANET FITNESS IN PLAINSBORO NJ. BUT I WILL BE A MEMBER AT THEIR GYM FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. I JUST NEED IT TO TRY TO SEE IF IT WAS WORTH IT. SHE DID NOT HAVE THE COURTESY TO LED ME TRY IT FOR FREE TO SEE IF I LIKED THE GYM. ALL THE OTHER PLANET FITNESS I BEEN TO GIVE YOU A FREE PASS TO TRY THE GYM FOR UP TO 3 DAYS. SHE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAD A NASTY ATTITUDE... THIS IS A UNSANITARY AND DISGUSTING GYM. YOU WILL BE BETTER AT ANOTHER GYM. DO NOT ATTEND!!!

What initially attracted me to this gym was the fact that it is open 24 hours. I like that when I have my workouts later in the evening, I dont feel rushed. The price is right for what you get and the equipment seems to be taken care of satisfactorily. If you are looking for a facility with fancy shiny things and an array of classes to take, this probably isnt the place for you. However, if you know what you are doing in the gym, I highly recommend it. I have no complaints after being a member for a year now, and plan to stay here for quite some time. I have the basic membership and when doing the math, it comes to .35 cents a day...totally worth it to me!

Planet fitness is great gym for its easily affordable prices, and is open 24 hours, while treating you to pizza once a month a believe, for their own reasons either just to give back to its loyal gym customers or to just treat u to that once a week cheat day your allowed, and if its for free why complain, but if you know you havent been sticking to your diet then I can understand you being upset coming into a gym and their giving away free pizza. But thats when you get back to that machine and work it off. In all this is a pretty good gym spacious and all the equipment you need to get the body you want.

Im new to the area and I was looking for a new gym to join so I called just to inquire if they do a day pass so that I can see what their gym is like; Not only was I automatically thrown on hold without someone even saying hello to me... But when I hung up and called back someone different answered who sounded completely miserable- Great job at losing a potential customer guys!! The customer service needs some serious help. I suggest this GM of this gym talks to whoever is working the front desk, you will not get good reviews with that nonsense.

This gym is terrible first at the counter they have Tootsie rolls. Second for some reason thy had pizza at the gym. The workers ate unprofessional, the whole staff has no care for the customers concern. Not until after you sign your membership do you know all the unreasonable agreements. I wouldnt recommend going to the linden location at all. They are so unorganized with their payments and charging policies. A whole mess. If you like waisting money this is the perfect gym. Also you wont get much of a workout there,lets face it ,its not a gym.
