Something tells me that the people running this place arent truly fitness enthusiasts or dont really lift. The free weights area is like a high school or small college gym. Music: Make sure you bring your headphones. Their playlists are trash. Who works out to the Whispers, top 40 oldies, or techno? The majority of the people who attend only where headphones because they hate the music. Staff: The managers or owners in the office never ever greet or speak to the patrons. They spend a good deal of their time on cell phones and/or pcs, to care what you think about their business. How can anyone except to run a respectable establishment, without getting to know its members? Oh I get it. Just take their money and careless about what they think. You can also see the transition of attitude change in staff that began with happy smiles and great energy to frowns, and a drop in moral. This obviously stems from poor management. Business Management 101. Cleanliness: Cleaning staff does a pretty good job working to keep the place clean. There is usually a stall or toilet out of service. The juice/smoothie bar is nothing but cross contamination germ trap. Expect to be poisoned by dirty hands touching keys, gym tabs, equipment, money, cards, etc then making you a smoothie/drink without gloves. I see countless board of health violations. Equipment: Any former or current athlete, coach, or avid gym goer can tell that this is a starter gym. The size of the place is small with minimum equipment. Prepare to wait for a leg press, squat rack, bench press, leg extension machine, stairmaster, etc. Doesnt matter what it is, just have patience because theres like one of each besides the bench. The equipment is usually broken for way more time than it is in working order. At any given visit youll find at least 3 pieces down, i.e. treadmill, rowing machine, cables, etc. The sad thing is that people pay contract fees for broken equipment to be repaired, yet months will go by before they are fixed. Btw this place is only a few years old. Parking: Small lot that fills up fast. Theyve reorganized so that people can use the area around the lot to accommodate more members because the gym has merged with another. Yet parking is still bad. Adding more people obviously helped increase their pockets, but decreased parking, and gym space. Which in turn created a larger wait time to use the equipment. Nice! #Not Trainers: The place really isnt that big, but they have a handful of trainers. Only 2 maybe three actually appear to look like they know what they are doing with clients. The rest seem to just float around the gym. I couldnt see hiring a trainer that doesnt look like he/she trains. I mean you should look like you can help me reach my goals. Not look like Im going to reach mine before you reach yours. Just saying... Misc: The gym added a crossfit room. This section has a separate fee to attend. They actually should have used the space to expand the free weights area. Instead, they only have about 5 - 6 people attending classes each day, and a greyhound dog walking around in the room. Is this a gym, or Pet Smart? The people in the free weights are overcrowded trying to train, and these guys are doing dog shows. Huh??? Again, Im not sure if any of the owners or managers ever lifted, or ran a gym before. From what Ive seen and heard lot of people have left to become members of other gyms. I dont blame them. Overall the place is decent if you are merely there to hit the treadmills during off peak hours. Would I recommend a membership for the cost of fees if you planned to really get the most out of a gym? No. You can get way more at other gyms like LA Fitness, Signature, Iron Bound, Power House, Coliseum, etc. the list goes on. These other gyms offer better equipment, parking, music... saunas, hot tubs, pools, racket ball, free classes, and most of all better customer service and equipment repair time at a minimum. Dont waste your time getting stuck in a contract only to waste funds when you could get more from a better location.

I would give a 0 to this establishment .HORRIBLE customer service so unprofessional and there is never a manager to speak to about any of your concerns .I tried to speak to a person in charge and all he did was tell us off using profanity and never gave as the chance to let him know that for months straight we have been complaning about no air conditioning in the spinning room. All you hear in this place is customers dissatisfied. They have a board for you to write what equipement is boken and they erase the board the minute you turn around and do nothing get fix it. I have had nothing but unpleaseant experiences at this facility and feel as tho all they want is your money and dont care for customer satisfaction. There is no one to address any of your complaints too and the when you try to speak to anyone they are very unprofessional and use vulgar language as if you were a nobody and do not treat you like a paying customer.

I dont think its ok for a "MAN" to be cleaning the womens locker room while women are the showering and half naked!!! This is NOT OK!! Its disrespectful and disgusting!! I was there last night around 5:30pm 3-1-17 and there was women wrapped in a towel not able to change because a man was there cleaning the bathrooms!! What!!!! Management should be a shame of themselves!! I called and spoke to a supervisor and apparently this is normal!!! Never been so embarrassed and uncomfortable!!! If i wasnt on a contact I would leave this place.. i dont even feel comfortable Ever changing or use sauna in locker room.. this is a shame!!!

This gyms atmosphere is definitely better than the club metro in Elizabeth! The bathrooms are clean which is a plus for me. You are actually greeted here and acknowledged which most gyms dont. I would rate this club metro 5 stars if only it was bigger with more equipment. It gets pretty packed in the afternoon especially when they have their Zumba classes. I would enjoy this gym more if I didnt have to alternate my work outs waiting around during the busy times.

Parking is terrible and dangerous because people insist on parking illegally in fire zones. I have mentioned it to the staff but not much seems to be done about it. There are no signs/rules around people talking on cell phones (very disruptive). Equipment is often broken. The gym has become very overcrowded at all times but I guess for $20 a month it gets the job done. I only come for cardio at this point because less than an hour is all that I can tolerate.

This gym gets the job done for $20/month. I come during the busy hours at around 5:30PM and theres still enough room to do your exercises. I usually stick to the free weights and on occasion the cardio equipment, which are all fairly new still as this gym just opened up a few year ago. Locker rooms are fairly clean, however can not speak on steam room or showers, as Ive never used either.

I have been going to club metro for years and initially they used to clean the place every day whilst you are there so you know the machines are cleaned which was excellent now you dont see any one cleaning anymore garbage cans are full with paper towels and the bathroom is dirty what is going on now
