Place is in a steady decline. Beware that all of the fancy equipment, lifting platforms, and indoor track and turf on the second floor are not things are truly yours to use. They rent the place out to some little league and give you the boot. There is no steady schedule, so you cant really plan around it. As one of the managers explained it to us today, its am added benefit that they allow us to use for the time being, though sales reps wont mention that at all, and will even take you up there and go through their routine of pressing all of the buttons on the Kaizer cages and show people how to use it during their sales pitch. Ive had issues with the place that Ive overlooked because we still had the platforms. Tonight marks the third night with this nonsense, so Im putting this up to warn potential weightlifters that see the area as an oasis in the desert that is the North Jersey performance scene. The rest of the place is nice, but nothing special, and the $400+ up front fee isnt worthwhile when the establishment cant differentiate themselves from their competition. Staff is pleasant for the most part, and I cant fault them for enforcing bad decisions made by management. Its a shame. The facility was poised to fill a niche market and still take a bite out of the mainstream one, but they lack the vision needed to turn off the traditional big box strategy.

The pool temperature was too cold for my childs last lesson as it needed maintanace. They never notified me.My son, who is five, froze for 30 minutes and got very sick afterwards. When he came out of the pool his entire body was just so cold he has never been like that before. They need to teach instructors how to monitor the core body temperature by regularly checking the foot of the child. He is still home sick today crying and miserable and missing school. Just the second week of school, so thanks. Caring more about money than a childs and obviously your members welfare speaks volumes. I find out later that many members and parents complained so they did this knowingly, which makes me very very upset. Needless to say we will not be coming back. I feel so guilty that I didnt listen to him when he was telling me it was freezing. I thought he was just being too soft and I dont want to be an overprotective mother. if I had known for one second that the temperature was colder than normal I never wouldve let him get in for one second let alone 30 minutes. Even the temperature once out of the pool in that room is not warm enough, especially for someone who is soaking wet.

This gym is great, especially for people that work or are related to civil servants (nice discount). Coming from 24hr Fitness, the hours on Sundays arent ideal and they dont have a basketball court (that can be transformed into a vb court). However, this gym is: -spotless -nice, approachable staff that remember your name -salt water thermal therapy pool -sals food is excellent -150 classes; the only one thats extra money is pilates reformer Only issue I have is a spin/my ride male instructor, unsure of his name but it starts with a D, his class is entirely too much in every way. Flat road in spin is NOT gear 14, Im sorry but thats just extreme for anyone. This isnt soul cycle where all day everyday people just spin, there should be active recoveries that arent on an incline. Otherwise, I absolutely love my ride and most of the instructors. Especially Abe, Cheri, and Ceribet

my experience at this facility has been nothing short of phenomenal. im a powerlifter that trains at a crossfit gym during the school year down in north carolina, but every summer i come up to jersey to visit family, i train at this gym. they are kind to students and affordable. they dont put on the pressure to extend membership for longer than youre looking for. the personnel are courteous and respectful, and these small gestures definitely help to make my training time positive. i quickly feel at home when i come back here, and get into a groove right away. the other clients are also respectful, and there is not a sense of bro-culture that overtakes the sports performance level. its a good environment to get work done; the power-cages are decent quality and the bars/plates are all in good shape and usually organized.

Can I just say this gym owns all. I get the price is above some of the others but only because it is TOTALLY WORTH IT. When you get to this gym and see what it has to offer and find yourself never having to wait in line for any equipment, thats how you know the membership was worth it. So many classes, a free personal trainer session and nurse examination every 90 days, plenty of showers, and a facility so well and maintained, it makes you feel like you are paying pro athlete service without the pro athlete costs (it costs more than other low budget gyms BUT it is not crazy expensive. I love the events they set up as well.

Its a relatively clean gym, but for the price you pay, you should have better machines. there is no lying hamstring curl machine, hack squat, Precor AMT 100I Elliptical machine (something I had at my old $20/month gym). Another thing that bugs me and makes me uncomfortable is the children are sometimes hanging out in the weights area and there should be rules for where parents should bring the kids. People are lifting to failure and dropping weights and I fear someones child will get hurt. The classes are pretty great, but the weight machines need additions and Im not 100% sold on this gym yet, after 7 months of going.

Customer service is impossible to contact. I am a senior and have health issues that keep me from coming in to "freeze" my membership when I am feeling ill and you cant do it on the phone through customer service.!!!!! I am probably going to cancel my membership completely. Also, after they do an evaluation of mobility, etc., they use scare tactics to try to get you to buy a trainer package saying things like your not in shape and it is dangerous to use the gym unless you are supervised "you could hurt yourself" even though my doctor cleared me for unlimited exercise and my balance is excellent!

This is a world class gym with all the amenities. It has a crew that is constantly maintaining and cleaning the facility. The staff is friendly and it has the latest exercising equipment. When I workout at the gym I feel like a pro athlete because of state of the art equipment, olympic size pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and the turf on the second floor. The best part is the childcare section which is open all day unlike other gyms and its free with retired care takers and teachers watching your child. Ill give this place 5 stars easily!!!

I am giving the stars to the trainers! I take spin with Abe, PYIO with Stephanie and more spin with Stacey, Abe is a spin guru and has great program of growing both strength and endurance! Stephanie is a wonder in her class of PYIO, she is so well trained and so attentive to the class needs, she is always explaining all moves and makes sure we have GOOD posture to avoid injuries! Stacey is a beast with the spin class and a great motivator, not to mention both these ladies are great athletes!
