I signed up with them year and half ago and wanted to cancel loooong time ago due to unsanitary, not very helpful employees and not enough equipment, but according to the SPAM CONTRACT it wasnt worth it. So I had no other option left, but just keep on throwing my money away monthly. Then I called around January (still 4 months before expiring contract date) to ask whats the procedure to cancel the contract with them and being told " No need of any cancellation notices, just come in person the day your contract expires" witch sounds great Then, the same day, I am calling again to confirm if I should give them a cancellation notices or not, since I read my contract and still being told " No need of any note, just come in person on the day your contract ends". And now when I thought I am just about to get rid of this stupid membership they tell me " 60 days in advance notice" ARE U FREAKING OUT OF YOUR MIND PEOPLE??? Then comes the manager and for my problem he has no solution, or not even an apology whatsoever. Instead he keeps on selling me the point " Its family owned business" like SERIOUSLY MAN??? Why are u pointing that, what it has to do with my problem??? INSANE

I signed up after my groupon deal was up. I like that the place is very clean especially the mens bathroom. The mens locker room is very small but at least its clean. The gym size is good for the price. Ive seen smaller gym for the same price. The owner is nice and friendly tries his best to greet every member. They have strike zone which is a great boxing/conditioning class for an extra fee. Those classes are tough but whip u into shape. They also have a free TEXT class which also will whip u into shape quickly. I leave in Kearny so this place is a bit far but its worth coming her. The overall atmosphere is great. Its not as pack as you think when u get there by 5-6 pm. Its just that a lot if classes are going on so the parking lot looks packed but not on the gym floor

This is a great gym. Been a member prior to their opening. Always clean, never super crowded, never had someone ask to work in because there is plenty of room and equipment. I recommend this spot. And I love putting people on the spot. Whoever wants Retro is just a cheap !@#$%^ thats it. To say this place doesnt have good equipment.....Riiiightt. These are the pre madonnas....Look at how most people rate this place. Ignore the negative comments. Im sure these guys where panties. Fake names also say enough to know its all bs. And poor people with their tiny hurt little feelings that a little blonde could induce....unbelievable.

Ive been going to this gym for a few years now, I dont know where the folks who wrote negative reviews were going because it wasnt this location. I have never had a even slightly off experience with the staff. They are always helpful always pleasant and always smiling. Eric is the absolute best, making it a point to greet all of his customers and to make sure folks are respectful of the equipment and each other. My wife and I moved out of the area and we now have no less than 2 dozen or so gyms between where we moved and Erics PowerHouse and we still go to Powerhouse. Its our second home and I couldnt imagine training anywhere else.

This comes up on a search for powerlifting gym. It is NOT a powerlifting gym! I went on a week pass and one of the private trainers who is a powerlifter let me use their area to do deadlifts. I was using bumper plates on a platform and 405 was shaking the building. The manager said it was bothering the tutoring school adjacent to the gym. I told him maybe they should have put their gym in a different building and walked out.

This place does not represent the Powerhouse Gym name very well. It lacks the good equipment that some other Powerhouses have and the workers arent very nice. Apparently doesnt offer a free trial when it says they do on the website. I dont see this Powerhouse lasting very long unless they change it up. I might as well sign up to a Retro Fitness closer and get more bang for my buck.

Best gym ever! No excuse not to join! 24hrs, daycare, free classes included in membership, yoga, serious fit, inexpensive, super clean, protein shakes, meals, lots of parking, friendly staff! What more is needed?! The 60 days notice is told to EVERYBODY when they sign up and Is emailed to you with the email you provide. If thats an issue you shouldve listened up when you join.

Clean, friendly staff, lots of equipment and free classes that come with regular membership. Great protein shakes and they offer some delicious healthy meals there too if you ever need a fast meal that wont destroy your diet. Best gym in the area by far. Most importantly EVERYONE PUTS THEIR WEIGHTS BACK.

Tried to cancel my gym membership because I moved to a different state. I sent 3 pieces of mail (which I paid for) and they lost my mail. Long story short. Was forced to keep the gym membership that i never used for 2 years and lost over $500. Thanks a lot!

Eric is a great owner and awesome dude. Keeps the gym spotless. Also keeps on top of the dirtbags and wannabe bodybuilders throwing weights around like jerk offs

Nice place with amazing prices and the Evolution Sports training in the back is probably the best training in the area outside of defrancos or Parisi
