If I could JUST rate Douglas M, Id give him a 10 star rating because he was beyond amazing. He knew the mechanics of my unit and was able to identify and correct the problem within minutes of being at my house. He didnt mind my two kids underfoot and was incredibly gracious about my house looking like a tornado hit. Best of all, I reiterate, he identified and corrected the problem with my AC within minutes of being there. Yay cool air! However, since this is asking me to review Horizon Services, I need to be fair and assess my experience with the whole company. Ive been hearing their ads for years on the radio, and it just so happened that I ended my contract with another company that offers the same services as Horizon (Electric, Plumbing, HVAC). I decided to give Horizon a call when my AC stopped working after 10 years of no issues. Since I was having them come out for my AC, I figured Id have a plumber tech come out for a faucet I tried replacing. Im actually very handy, myself, and could have installed the new kitchen faucet, but I didnt have the strength to turn the bolts, so I figured "Meh, why not just pay a guy to do it since theyll be here." So I scheduled the AC tech came to check the AC and a plumber came to install the faucet. AC guy came first. Very nice. Told me my filter was the problem and replaced the filter. Noted that the capaciter wasnt great, but since the AC unit seemed to be working, he chalked it up to the filter. He left and the plumber came. Another very nice man, the plumber had to charge me close to $500 to swap out a faucet that I provided! I even had the plumber putty and caulk! Like I said, I knew it was a 20 minute job because I was prepped to do it myself, I just couldnt unscrew the bolts. So when he quoted me $500, I showed him the door. Not rudely, mind you, but I was floored. I called my brother and he came over to help me out. We replaced the faucet in 10 minutes. 10 minutes, people, and you wanted to charge me almost $500. No thanks. Same day, the AC stops working again. I was leaving for a trip, so I had to leave the issue until I got back. When I did, another AC guy came out. Also nice, but again, nice doesnt fix the problem. He replaced the blower capacitor but when I got home from work, the house was hotter than it had ever been! The AC was STILL not working. Called Horizon and they finally sent Douglas. My Godsend, Douglas. Friendly, smart, experienced, and efficient. THANK YOU DOUGLAS! I contacted customer service through FB to point out the problems Id had in the hopes that someone in Customer Service would pass along my disappointment to an owner or something that could rectify the situation (specifically the plumbing cost one), but I was given a response that cycled the blame back onto me by apologizing for the price that "didnt meet my needs." As if my expectation for price somehow was the problem and not the price, itself. Im all for paying professionals what they deserve, and I was actually willing to pay this guy $150 for his time and effort in doing what would amount to be a 15-20 minute job (especially because, again, I was supplying everything), but $500? No. Not even a little bit. So yes, thank you so much to Douglas for being awesome in every way. However, it shouldnt have taken me 3 calls to find a solution. Will I use Horizon again? If I ever call again, itd likely be for HVAC and Id only agree to service if I could be placed with Douglas. But otherwise? No, and I likely wouldnt recommend you either, which really disappoints me because I had really high expectations from your radio ad. It should also be noted that the ladies who answered the phones to get me scheduled were fantastic as well. Very pleasant and willing to work with my schedule. They should be commended for their efficiency. So someone please give Douglas a raise, because he carried my opinion of your company from a negative to an appreciative 3. Idve given him a 10 if I could!

Outstanding service from first call to resolution and fix of our problem. Beyond polite. Our technician Lee B. was very helpful. Suggested we look into the warranty information to avoid paying anything unnecessary for repairs. Got here on time, presented me with credentials, ( was good with the dog - a plus but not expected) got to work and asked good questions. Lee did not make me feel bad about not understanding the technical lingo. So many times you use the wrong word to describe a part because as a home owner you are not an expert ( example: I called a part the "air handler" when it was actually the blower that was the part name) He listened politely to what I had done to try to resolve the issue myself. So often you feel like the tech is irritated with your explanation. Your info may have clues to the problem. Lee walked thru a careful problem solving and isolated the parts that may cause the trouble. He found the problem and resolved it. He cleaned up an issue the original installer did not fix. So he exceeded my expectations. Lee educated me to the possible services for maintenance offered by Horizon. Ultimately, I feel confident of the repair and the price was fair for the excellent level of service we received. Peace of mind and polite help. What a relief!

If you ever have a problem with your heating or air conditioning, no matter what DO NOT USE HORIZON SERVICES!! my air stopped working and we fell for their great marketing. They came out and said I blew a fuse. So I asked what caused it. And he said it could have been a power surge or outage. Which he had just had the day before. So it made sense. They replaced the fuses and charged me 148 dollars. But then told me my system will have to be replaced and this was only a temporary fix. We made it a day with air and it died again the next day. So We had horizon come out and they quoted on a new system. Grand total was 15,000 dollars. They told me we had to replace the heat and air system. So here I am 2 months from a wedding and being told I have to pay 15,000 dollars for a new heating and air system. I decide to shop around for quotes and the last guy to give us one asked if he could look at what the problem was. Well, lo and behold the great horizon services put the wrong fuses in and fried my power supply box!!!!!!! So a 100 dollar repair almost cost me over 15,000 dollars because horizon screwed up. Im just putting this out there so people make sure they know what they are getting into.

Douglas M. arrived in lightning-like fashion for an emergency visit. We explained the situation regarding a potential gas leak in our basement and he immediately went down to determine our optoins. He explained that it did not appear to have a leak but thought it would be a good idea to do a tune up on our heat pump and then shared what options I had as far as service or service contract. He wore shoe covers to walk through the house and wore them for the entire visit. He ran through maintenance and found a motor that was nearing the end of its life. He explained what the part did, and said that we could probably finish out this season without replacing it as it would cost nearly 1000.00 to replace.. Were new to our home in the past 5 months and we decided to sign on with the service contract because of the A+ service received. It was much appreciated. Another side note: The folks at Horizon that handled inbound calls were also first class. They explained options and were wildly rapid in getting back to me and let me know someone was on their way. Based on the whole experience, I feel that it was money well spend. My mind is at peace after the visit.
