The staff at the New Providence Post Office are truly incompetent and uncaring. I recently mailed two packages via First Class mail with tracking confirmation. The packages were given to a clerk named Tara. I have a receipt confirming that the packages were accepted by the clerk at the post office. However, once given to Tara the packages seem to have completely disappeared from the tracking system. The tracking system says Accepted at post office and then nothing more. The packages are supposedly in transit but obviously havent been delivered. I called and spoke to the manager Cynthia Moore. She was the rudest manager I have ever dealt with. I couldnt believe she was actually in charge. No wonder her staff are the way they are. Cynthia Moore seemed more concerned with protecting herself and covering up any incompetence on behalf of her staff, then helping me track down my packages. She treated me with a complete lack of respect. Her response was if a package is lost by her staff, even if there is tracking confirmation clearly indicating that a package is lost and even though the package is sent first class, there is nothing she can do. I know of no other business who will not refund a loss when it is clear through their own tracking system that they have misplaced a package. This is simply wrong. Whether a package is sent via media mail or next day priority the post office has an obligation to deliver their mail. And First Class mail is not the cheapest route. If they do not, and there is clear proof that they have not, they need to be held accountable. Any reputable organization should want to make things right for the customer when they are clearly in the wrong, instead of hiding behind the statement "you didnt send it priority so its your own fault." It is not my fault. I brought the packages to you. It is your business and your responsibility to deliver them. That is why you were hired. Of course, the post office has no incentive to deliver if every time they make a mistake they can say: well if you didnt send it Priority or if you dont have insurance, youre out of luck. Insurance and Priority should be for high value items with a time sensitive nature; for most people it doesnt make financial sense for small items and if the only way you are going to deliver something is if it is sent Priority, well then maybe you should just tell customers that is your policy up front. I think it is high time for the post office to be accountable for their actions. They seem to be charging more and more with less service. Cynthia Moores treatment of people is truly a disgrace.

Ive been going to this post office for the 20 years Ive lived here and indeed, have suffered the wrath of Mr. Mustache. Today I had the fortune of meeting the Post Master, Cynthia, who was extremely helpful, smart and courteous. She went the extra mile for both me and the customer ahead of me. There IS hope for the USPS!

The guy with the mustache and the Indian lady that work there are the most incompetent staff I have ever seen. But the winner is the mustache guy by far. He beats her by a mile. You know the saying "the customer is always right". Well, over there, the customer is always wrong. My advice, go to a different post office.

I dont know about you, but I find the attendants at New Providence Post Office very unfriendly, not to say RUDE. The lady that works there is not too bad, but the 2 guys, especially the one with the mustache, he is terrible, always being to harsh and uncooperative.

I mailed a letter certified mail on 2/11/17 to Paterson, and as of this date it is still in transition. Thats ridiculous, never had a certified letter delayed this long.

Mustache guy is still there and rude as ever. Dont know why he still works there as he appears to hate his job and people.
