Worth every penny! I went a few weeks ago after needing to find a new salon after a very poor experience at Utopia where an untrained stylist cut and charged me for a DevaCut without having taken any courses in the technique. (with the owner and front desk knoweldge at each appointment!) Anywho, I looked for a salon closer to my house and am so happy to have found Mystique. Im young in my 20s so having a full functional website with intense staff profiles is CRUCIAL! It just showed me they put effort into their clients and salon. I noticed there is only one male on the list (owner), and he answered the phone the day I booked, and was there the day I came in for my cut. That meant a lot to me, he cares about his salon enough to put in the hours and do the work to keep it running with his own hands! so rare! I discussed on the phone my experience with the other salon, was assured of the process, and the skills of the three stylists, their years of using the technique. I ended the call super excited (and then got an email reminder for my apt that synced to my calendar, again HUGE plus!!!) Walking into the salon was interesting, but dont be deceived by the mall salon exterior, the place is very clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, offering tea, coffee, water, whatever you need! Very lux! I loved Tayler, she walked through the whole process, explaining the different techniques for maximizing my curl. She never pushed the products on me, but did show me how to use them and explain which of the line was best for my curl type (something the other place never did, always leaving my hair sticky and flat). Her knowledge and manner were impeccable, you could tell she really enjoys her job, great conversationalist and made the appointment a lot of fun! Im very excited to return for my next trim in a few more weeks

This spa is across the street for me so I decided to give it a shot. Theyre known moreso for hairstyling, which Im sure is great, but since I booked spa services, my experience was...sub-par. PROS: My masseuse (who is actually an on-call masseuse for the salon), did a good job and was very professional. He made me feel comfortable and addressed all of my problem areas. So I have to keep him ENTIRELY out of the bad since I was satisfied with his body work and his service. CONS: RUDE, RUDE, RUDE front desk receptionist on Sundays, harrassing facialist, felt that because I didnt want to buy product my facial was rushed. Dont waste your money for facials or treatments here. Go to Jeanne Michel or Amber Spa where the service is MUCH better. Weird (thats all I can say), weird, weird checkout service - if you want to have people basically ask you for a tip right to your face and have the money snatched out of your hand before youve had a chance to put your wallet away, this is the place to be. Im sure there are good things about this salon, but there are a couple of choice people that made this experience just downright "strange" for me. UPDATE: Add a Pro: I directed my comments to the SENIOR MGMT and they took my concerns VERY seriously and did everything possible to rectify the issue. I must say the management is very professional and I appreciated the efforts they took to rectify the situation. I guess its like any situation, sometimes you just get one or two bad eggs out of the batch; prob. will try them again for their hair services at some point in the future...

My first experience with CarolAnne at Mystique was when I wanted to schedule a Brazilian Blow Out. I showed up one day, I asked her details and I scheduled. She was marvelous and besides, she also did a little trimming that she thought I needed due to the texture of my hair. I thought that she was being extremely nice when she did that and decided to try a haircut and color with her, which I did next. I was so pleased, and then of course went for what CarolAnne calls THE WORKS, oh, yes, the several hours I spend there with haircut, haircolor, facial and waxing with Maggie. After that, I was "hooked" and add pedicures in the summer, and my daughter Rachels haircut and waxing with Nancy. The three of them are very professional, kind, they take the time that they need, they know what they are doing and I am very pleased. Its going to be 1 year since I have been going, regularly, I love that they are open on Sundays, that is a big plus, and I have plans to continue being a regular with them. The front desk ladies are also great, the place is clean, the other stylists are also nice, the products they sell are of excellent quality and good price, and there is always tea, coffee, and candy available for the customers. No parking problems and good ambiance in the mall where the salon is located.

My experience was horrible. I went in for a formal styling session with Olivia, a professional stylist, after reading positive reviews on the salons website. Upon my arrival, my stylist was not prepared for my appointment. She spent some time running through the salon looking for pins and hairspray, etc. I showed her an example of a style I wanted and she was not able to deliver. I had to tell her multiple times during the appointment that I was unhappy with the style that she had executed. At one stage I had to do my own hair so she could pin it. At the end of the appointment, I was severely unhappy and expressed to Olivia and another employee at the front desk. They both remarked it was ok, charged me the highest price in the range listed on the website and let me leave disgruntled. I was attending a pretty important event where professional photos were taken and I could not change my do because she had hair sprayed it stiff. Overall, I could not believe the lack of customer service and support at this Princeton salon. Upon receiving my honest review on their website, which the establishment requested, the owner deleted it. Now I understand that the reviews on their website are highly misleading. Warning: DO NOT GO!

I gave this review because of a disturbing phone call from the owner last night. I have been going to this salon for about 6 months since it is conveniently located near my place of business. I was not overwhelmed with my stylist but I could go home and recut the front and sides of my very short hair and thought all was well. At my last appointment I asked Stephany if I could show her how I like the hair cut to frame my face and asked if I could use her shears. She handed them to me I I showed her. Well, my phone call 4 weeks after this visit from the shop ower was about how Stephany is uncomfortable and afraid to cut my hair because I grabbed her sissors from her. I was told it was like a patient grabbing a scalpel from a surgeon.... As a shop owner, I would not want to loose a $20 tipping regular customer. If this girl was uncomfortable cutting my hair, why would he just not have said that Stephany felt she was not pleasing me and suggest I try another operator? Shame on this salon, had my old hairdress not moved, I would NEVER have had to try a new one. I am a 63 year old woman who is not in the habit of behaving the way Stephany portrayed me.
