No other review of this business should matter besides this one. I say this because I personally believe that no other human has dealt with Car Kings more in the last 2 years. It all started with a recommendation from a friend when my 95 Ford F-150 started giving me trouble. My first impression of the business was a good one. John (the owner) proved to be extremely knowledgeable (having well over 30 years of hands-on experience) and more courteous and polite than any other mechanic Ive ever met. With this said, the truck was repaired quickly and at a great price and I was immediately a fan of this business. In the months following this great interaction, I was interested in purchasing a 99 VW Eurovan that was riddled with mechanical issues small and large. For those of you who dont know, this vehicle is far from common and is among the most difficult VW vehicles to maintain or repair. I called John before buying the Eurovan to find out if he could handle these issues without forcing me into bankruptcy. He agreed that it was by means an easy vehicle to work on, but assured me that no job was too big for him and his mechanics and encouraged me to buy the van and bring it in! John couldve charged me $6000 for a new transmission because it was slipping HARD between 2nd and 3rd gear on the automatic transmission. This is a common issue with this vehicle based on my research and the common resolution is a full replacement or rebuild of the transmission. John did his research and found an $1100 solution that he was confident would correct this severe issue. I gave him the green light, he banged the job out fast, and its been two years driving this Eurovan almost daily and I have had ZERO transmission issues since. Many other mechanics wouldve either been lazy and just went for the easy option of a $6000 replacement, OR they wouldve charged me $3000 to do what John did for $1100 and embellish the amount of work needed knowing that Id gladly pay the $3000 instead of the $6000. Since this, I have had John do DOZENS of repairs on my two vehicles. He has proven himself to be the most HONEST, RELIABLE, and COMPASSIONATE mechanic Ive ever heard of. And Ive seen the worst horror stories having been a police officer for 11 years and having owned around 11 cars in my life thus far. Other notes: 1. John honors a 1 year warranty on all of his repairs. 2. We are NOT friends or related in any way. 3. We have not seen eye-to-eye on every repair and have even exchanged words!! But John remains a true PROFESSIONAL who honors the old school mentality that "The customer is always right" and has always gone out of his way to resolve any issues. 4. Again, John Is HONEST. If he screws something up, he will let you know about it and make it right instead of hiding the screw up behind a fake issue that he can turn around and charge you for like other mechanics would. I will never use another mechanic unless I move or John decides to retire. BRING YOUR CAR HERE AND REAST ASSURED THAT YOU WILL NOT BE RIPPED OFF, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE A WELL RESEARCHED REPAIR THATS BACKED FOR 1 YEAR!!!

Started my car in the morning to the dreaded check engine light being on! After some online research came across Car Kings in my home town of Wallington. Briefly explained the issues I was having with my car to the service manager Anthony. He was extremely professional over the phone and explained the process of how they will diagnose the problem. Took my car at 1 in the afternoon and by 2:45 they gave me a full report on what was causing the problem. Outside of what was causing the check engine light to turn on they also advised of some minor issues they noticed. However there was absolutely no pressure to perform all services they noticed. The owner John was the one who actually called me to go over the report they ran through the diagnostic scan. They could not have been more helpful and make you feel at ease knowing your car is in good hands. By 6pm I was back in my car and it was running like new!! To top it all of the prices are right in line with what I would expect to spend for my repairs. Excellent service, fair pricing, and mechanics who talk to you like a normal person what more can you ask for from a mechanic. I HIGHLY recommend this mechanic to any friends and family or anyone in general looking for a reliable and friendly shop. Thank you Anthony & John from a very happy customer.

A few weeks ago, my wife called me stranded on the side of the NJ Turnpike as her car had broken down. It was just before 6:00 so I started calling all of the local Subaru dealerships. Of the 10 I tried, they were either not open or refused to allow the car to be towed there, despite the fact that my wife was stuck on the side of the road!. Then I was fortunate to find John at Car Kings. At this point, it was well after 6:00, but John was not at all concerned about closing up for the day. His first priority was to get a tow truck to my wife, who was currently getting the run around from AAA. After that, he assured me that he would make the car a priority, so my wife would be able to pick it up on her way back through the following day. True to his word, John had the car fixed and back on the road for my wife to pick up. His work was exceptional and prices were very reasonable. There are not enough businesses in the world that make service a real priority. Car Kings is not only a great business and repair shop, but it is run by good people. If I lived in NJ, I would drive an hour to take my car to Car Kings. I couldnt recommend them more if you live in the area and are looking for an honest, exceptional mechanic.

How can I leave negative stars? This whole shop if filled with absolute snakes. Dont get taken for a fool, first of all they use their own parts, you can not even bring in a new battery because they will install their own for double the price. All of their items are doubled in price, 40 dollars to install a battery (a job that takes 5 minutes). They installed a battery without my consent, they chose the most expensive battery on the market, and hit me with the bill. The owners (2 of them) are rude and have a disgusting attitude. The bill for my car was worth more than the car itself! They will fix things that do not need fixing, and charge you dealership prices. They ALWAYS MARK UP the parts costs!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID. You WILL be hit with a bill unexpectedly because they do things without your consent, and if you have a problem with the bill they keep your keys, lock up your car and begin charging you daily rent space. absolute shady business, pricey, and nowhere near respectable!

I used to go to the dealer thinking that I was getting the best service but I was wrong. They kept diagnosing me and recommending to me parts and services that I know I didnt need, when all I went in for was an oil change. And the labor price with the service was astronomical. I went to Car Kings and that was a wrap. I havent seen my dealer in a year and this is the happiest Ive ever been. My car is taken care of in a timely manner. I am not over charged and they dont recommended any service or parts that I dont need. They even keep a list of what I may need for my car at my next service, a belt here, a filter there but nothing that would keep me from use of my car or break the bank. They are honest and know what they are talking about when it comes to my car and I couldnt be happier. Thank you Car Kings for taking care of me and my car. =D
