I dont review many things, but this place is comically bad. Its new facilities and the only reason for a star at all in my opinion. I didnt get a package my girlfriend ordered for me or a notification. I cancelled it and got a refund. A week later I order things from Amazon and get a notification that delivery was attempted and I find a slip underneath the door when i get home. Take the slip to the post office and they say its old and the package has been sent back. Finally I realize that I was actually holding the slip for my package I never received and still no slip for my current order. I give them my tracking number and they tell me its still on the truck and the driver is not back, but they close in 5 mins. Its Saturday and I work a 9-5 so I have either take off from work or wait a week to pick up my package. While I was there for about 45 mins. There were 2 windows that never moved because of complications. Window 1 was a lady sending wedding invitations who had been sold improper postage totaling close to $400, but they wouldnt exchange or refund these items. The lady was crying perfusly to no avail. Window 2 featured a young lady yelling with a postal worker that she kept her ID and the postal worker also yelling "I gave it back to you!" Off to the side in my line there were 2 minor altercations going on. One about license not matching the package from what I could tell and the other one I believe was just obnoxious people whose argument lacked merit. If you can avoid this post office I would strongly suggest it. My package I decided to cancel and let Amazon know about my experience and that if ordering online is gonna take a week I will just go into the store going forward if fed ex or ups cannot be a guaranteed delivery method.

This is I think the first time that I write a review for something, but I just cannot take it anymore. This must be the worst mail office in the civilized world, or more. Every other package is not delivered or is found only after numerous times of insisting and complaining in their storage room. Once they wanted to send me to Brooklyn for a missing package that after I protested was found by them in their storage. Sometimes the first time a notice is left when it is the "final notice". I had a package almost sent back to Europe because of this. Netflix DVDs are regularly stuck forcefully into the mailbox so that they break. How stupid does one have to be to do that??? I once made online a "hold mail" request for two weeks, which was not carried out. When I went to the mail office to complain they said: "Did you do this online? Oh, yeah, that doesnt work because we/they dont read the emails here." ???? Dont bother to ever call this office, no one will ever pick up the phone. We pay millions of tax dollars for USPS and they do such an abysmal job for years without that something changes (I live since 4 years in Astoria). They wonder then when people want to privatize it. I am originally from a country where the public sector is very prevalent (e.g. mail, hospitals etc.), but there one feels a responsibility to do a good job in a tax payer subsidized enterprise. It doesnt seem to bother anyone at USPS what is going on with this mail office. I filed already several complaints in combination with missed mail/packages and recovery claims and so far there is no change at all. Does anyone ever check out the reviews for this mail office? If something it got even worse. I can only say to this mail office: SHAME ON YOU!!!

Im sure anyone who has read any of the reviews for this particular post office have seen that most people are not happy with their experiences. Well, Im here to join in on that opinion. What we have here in Astoria is a truly incompetent and uncaring post office. Now, I understand that USPS has never been renowned for their fantastic performance and customer service, but I feel like this location is truly an outstanding example. I have been trying to get a package delivered to my house from China for close to a month. After organizing about 5 redelivery attempts, lodging complaints with the USPS customer service line, and speaking to probably 10 different representatives to figure out what was going on, I was finally able to go in person to the location. I was then told that they could not find my package, because it may still be on the delivery truck. I was given a number to call to verify whether or not my package had been returned to the office. When I called, I discovered it was a non-working number. I now need to find another time to go back before these idiots send my package back to China, which needless to say, would be EXTREMELY inconvenient. Bottom Line? Use Fedex.

If there is a worst post office in New York City, I challenge you to find it. This location has terrible hours (doesnt open officially until 10am - very inconvenient - evidenced by the line that forms outside waiting for the doors to open), is dirty, understaffed at all hours of the day, disorganized, and worst: they are so rude! (Im sure theyre sick of unhappy customers, but were the aggrieved here!) The manager, Ricardo Perpadoro (this is likely misspelled - I had him write it down for me so I could complain to USPS and its scrawled and illegible), is astonishingly rude and unhelpful. I think after walking half a mile, waiting in line for 15 minutes, and politely requesting to pick up a package - for which I had a tracking #!) doesnt merit impatience and crude behavior. He actually yelled at me. I am writing this in the hope that someone in a position of power will see how many people are inconvenienced, treated poorly, and unhappy with the postal service this location provides (or rather, the service they dont provide).

Extremely long lines and very slow support. Worst of all are their phony claims about missed delivery packages. USPS did somehow land itself a share of the amazon prime pie and must conform to the required 2 day guaranteed delivery. However, instead of keeping their end of the bargain they have decided to continuously lie and put false claims on their website. Most building based addresses never get timely deliveries. Instead their USPS online status says we missed you and a note has been left, yet the note does not appear on the mailbox until a couple of days later. Almost all our USPS packages have to be picked up in person or reschedule delivery and hope they decide to deliver them at some point.... Luckily most retailers know of the issue and will not continue using them to ship to your address again if you complain (especially Amazon)... Even one star is too much. Unfortunately that is the required minimum dictated by google.. and unlike others, some of us do adhere to requirements.

Even by USPS standards, the service here was worse than terrible. Its been over two weeks and my package still hasnt arrived. I requested redelivery for this Saturday, was home all day, and heard nothing from them, not even a stock email (from calling the main, also incompetent, national USPS number, appears that they somehow managed to lose my request). The phone seems to connect only to a busy signal, and words cant describe how lazy, rude, and incompetent my mail carrier is. The office is only open during standard work hours, plus a few on Saturday morning, which means that I have barely any chance at all to actually march over there and take care of things myself (I would have done so this weekend, but, of course, I was waiting for them to deliver and they closed hours before I could have been expected to notice a problem). The only reason Im giving them one star is because Im afraid my rating wont be factored in if I give them zero.
