I have performed most of the work on my truck myself. But after replacing my O2 sensors, my service engine soon light was still on. I knew it was because the O2 sensors werent getting any power to them. So WTF?!? Along with my three amigos lights still on yelling at me on the dashboard ( TC, ABS, HD), even after replacing the shuttle valve switch. My dash looked like Xmas lights! I gave in...I had to take a chance and search for a mechanic who might know why my replaced O2 sensors were not being detected. I was skeptical at first when I drove in. Carlos immediately hooked up the diagnostics to it and the reading came out that sensors were not being read. I had already known that after testing it myself. But, I was curious to see if Carlos would be able to detect the new O2 sensors and the replaced shuttle valve. He did!!! Carlos pointed out my new sensors and shuttle valve! He explained to me in detail what the problem was. He was 100% knowledgeable of these pain in the butts Land Rover vehicles. Whats more is that the staff also knew there stuff. I was very impressed with their knowledge and service. I really appreciated the fact that they werent try to swindle me at all. Being a Land Rover owner for 10 years, this is the first time that I bring my truck into a mechanic and feel completely confident they will do right by me and my truck. My truck is A-ok now, no xmas lights on the dash anymore and she runs and drives smoother than ever. I will definitely become a return customer and would highly recommend any Rover owner who is having any problems with their baby to swing by the shop and get your baby running like it should.

I was so extremely pleased with my service at British Auto Works! My range rover unexpectedly encountered problems with the air suspension causing the range rover to ride extremely low. I was out of town from Ohio currently relocating to the New York City area. Of course I am freaking out because Im not familiar with the area, nor did I know where a Land Rover dealership was located. I was in a panic, so I went back to my hotel and researched where I could go. I came across British Auto and read all the reviews, I was very impressed with what I read. Upon arriving the next day, I seen nothing but Range Rover vehicles outside. I felt relieved because I knew they specialized with this vehicle which made me feel comfortable. Their service was so professional. They explained what was wrong and even showed me the part they removed that was causing the problem. I will definitely continue to bring my range rover here for services! 5 star plus!

I had heard good things about British Auto Works on a few of the Land Rover enthusiast forums on the internet, and took my Discovery II there to get the head gaskets replaced when the weather made the work all but unbearable in an unheated garage. Carlos and Joe were very accommodating, taking the time to tell me a bit about the shop and the crew who works there (all long time employees, which is a good sign of the type of shop they run). The work on my truck was completed several days ahead of time, with a great deal of attention paid to the smaller details that only someone familiar with these trucks would catch. I very rarely trust anyone else but myself to work on my vehicles, but after initially meeting with Carlos, and seeing the end result, I would have no problem bringing and sending British Auto Works more work in the future.

I work mostly on my truck myself. I went for Waxoyl protection on a Defender frame. They didnt spray the inside of the frame at all, sprayed the exhaust system, parts of the brakes, axles, and even got some on the body. They also hadnt prepped the frame at all so the areas that were coated on the outside of the frame came off easily from the flaking paint. They had said they would prep the frame, or I would have done it myself. I have never brought a vehicle back to a shop before, and usually just hold a grudge and never go back. I brought the truck back and explained my expectations of what proper prep for, and application of, Waxoyl would be. Carlos re did the prep and application and was very friendly about it and made me feel like a valued customer. In the end it was a good experience and I got what I came/paid for.

After having brought my Range Rover to the dealership in Larchmont for years I found British Auto Works online and thought I would give them a try. I wish I had found them years ago....what an excellent service experience. Carlos immediately diagnosed why the check engine light was on and offered a couple of alternative solutions. He also went out of his way to drive the car and find the source of an intermittent rattling noise that was driving me crazy. I highly recommend these guys.

If you really want to get the right things done on your vehicle, then this is the place where you need to bring it. British Auto Works is the best shop that I have visited so far. They will get to the root of your problem and fix it for just a fraction of what the dealership will charge you. They are very courteous and professional and are always willing to work with you for the best solution. I will grade them A+.

Spent a ridiculous amount of money $x,xxx. 4 times the amount they would normally charge you to fix a oil leak. I had to take the vehicle back to them a week later. Then, they didnt find anything wrong with it. "Sure" I had to take the car to a different place and pay once again for the work that Ive already pay for. STAY AWAY. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Everytime I took my Rover in for a minor repair, it always ended up with more problems along with the original problem still lingering. They also replaced parts that didnt need to be replaced (perhaps taking my mint condition parts to replace the owners Rovers)?? Dont trust this place.

Very convenient location. Just had my engine /radiator hose replaced in less than a hour! Carlos is a honest mechanic! Last year he took my catilatic converter to the dealership and had it replaced under recall!

I need the EAS reset but the lady said we can fix cars but cant reset it. what the.... is it because it is a 5 min job and you cant justify the charge?
