I took my car in today for a simple inspection and and oil change. I was told that it would take some time so I should go home and wait to be contacted. Several hours went by so eventually ***I*** had to call ***THEM*** to find out that my car had long been ready. When I got there and paid them, I found my car situated in the midst of a veritable rats nest of parked cars. While trying to negotiate this treacherous morass of metal, I seriously scratched my car. Now I am going to have to shell out hundreds of $$$ for a paint job because these a$$holes were not professional enough to have my car ready to be driven off their premises without being almost entirely surrounded on all sides by parked cars. Its a safe bet I will not be doing any business with these $cumbags again. I am only sorry I cant give them a negative rating - in return for the cash payment I made all I received was extensive damage to my automobiles exterior. -George Dedaj

I came here after seeing that they were highly rated on Yelp. It was approximately 4:45pm so I called them to see if they could squeeze me in. I was told that they close at 5:30pm and if I can make it in 5 minutes they could change the oil on my car. They were literally located on the street behind my house. When I got there an older lady at the counter didnt bother to greet me or make any eye contact, she just kept shaking her head and looking at the clock. I told her I called just before I got there - she ignored me. Another older man also behind the counter (I assume her husband) went into the back and started swearing (eff this, eff that), at this point I told a younger boy working there that if it was such a big deal Ill take my business elsewhere and left.

Speedy, super polite. I called them up in need of a repair on short notice, and they worked me in despite obviously being really, really busy. I know what was wrong with my car, and they could have insisted on or tried to talk me into a $350 repair (which would have still been a bargain compared to what most shops would have charged), but they offered to do a bit more "creative" of a repair for $70, including labor. And it seems like they did a pretty good job of it, too! Car was ready to go in just a couple of hours, including them doing an oil change while it was in (also for a very reasonable rate). Everyone was very, very polite, easy to talk to, and had a good vibe about them. I think theyre my new go-to place for anything they can do.

My truck broke down today on my way to my sons doctors appointment. They were super busy but took the time out to assist me. I have a mechanic whose has been in the family for many years that is about an hour drive from us, other than that we dont have anyone we trust in the area. The dealer has not been very straightforward with us. I have been taken advantage of before, given outrageous advice and prices, but here I was treated respectfully and given the information about the issue that needed to be fixed without the run around that other mechanics usually give. I would like to thank the staff at Budget for taking time out of their busy day to assist me and my son and I would definitely recommend them and come back to them.

I have been coming to this place since 1994 as it is conveniently located next to my place of work, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The service was always courteous with very reasonable prices. Tommy goes the extra mile to do the things right. I have to agree that Budget Muffler ROCKS. Recently, I have changed my employer to Westchester, yet I am still driving down to have our cars serviced and will be coming in the years to come. Through the years, Budget Muffler was not only servicing and repairing my cars but did also small upgrades, such as lowering springs, stronger shocks, sturdier sway bars, etc. Always happy!

Enjoyed our experience. First we went to Sears for our Brakes. They said we needed the braked pad and rotars on the 2 front wheels along with the master cylinder replaced. I knew they were full of crap about the cylinder. They wanted to charge me 900+ dollars to fix it. NO WAY. So a friend had told us about budget muffler. We went there and they agreed about the front two wheel rotars and braked pads but said the cylinder was fine. They then quoted us for 300 to fix it. Without the cylinder, Sears would have charged 700 for the same job. Amazing.

I work for this shop for 7 years and I usually dont leave comments about former employers. But honestly this shop was the best and still is the best place I worked for. Major kudos for the entire Budget Muffler staff for all the great memories I had here being their Emission Inspector. Honest people who will show you whats wrong with your car. Get it done attitude. Its a busy shop for a reason because all of the clients are returning customers. They know how to treat people right.

Tommy and the guys are incredible. I first brought my car in to isolate an electrical problem. They ran my car for two days, could not find a problem, and gave me my car back without charging me a cent. A few months later, I brought it in for an oil change and to isolate a rattling sound...which ended up being a cracked strut. The work was expensive, but they made the oil change free to make up for how much more money I ended up spending and was not prepared to spend.

As a woman, I have often suspected that mechanics took advantage of me by feeding my mumbo-jumbo and charging me outrageous prices. I have never felt that since I started coming to Budget Muffler. Tommy takes the time to explain everything to me, charges reasonable prices, gets my permission before doing additional work, and is always professional and courteous. Great staff and great service that cannot be beat!!!!

Honest, excellent, speedy. I first went here as a medical student in 1999; Tommy has performed low-cost (sometimes free) repairs, always with excellent results. Now I work at Jacobi Hospital (if youre in Jacobi, call me at 35904) and Budget continues to take great care of my cars. Call ahead--theyre busy, and can give you better service if you talk with them about your problem before you come.

Ive been taking my car to Budget since my first car - 1991, moved to Jersey and yet I continue to come back to Budget. Made the mistake of going to a Strauss in my new area for some minor stuff, never again, its true what they say, finding a great mechanic is almost impossible (but if you go here your quest will end!) honest, reliable and professional! Always!

Excellent neighborhood service. An honest mechanic is hard to come by these days. They advise you of what needs to.be done and.how much it costs. If its a $150 pipe that is broken in your exhaust, that is what they fix, they would not quote you $1000 and try to replace your entire exhaust as many places do. Honest, great prices and reputable....
