I drive a 99 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinders with 75 Kmiles on the clock. Late last year I started to get the notorious slow speed thumbing noises on uneven surfaces in cold weather from the front end and had the unfortunate fate to go to a local Monro store in Old Saybrook,CT who claim are specialists in front end and suspension problems. Their diagnosis came out that I needed new struts and 450$ were drained. The noise stayed and they could not find the problem and they said it is your cars chassis after three comeback visits to their store complaining of their poor diagnosis!!! Another local mechanic in Old Saybrook could not say what was wrong & their conclusion was: bodywork issue! I gave up and went to the dealer and was told I needed to put new struts, mounts, bushings,..etc for the teeny tiny price of 1500$(not including tax) & of course I did not want to get ripped off & ignored the whole thing. 6 months later, a friend of mine recommended I visit R&R. I had a few extra problems develop during that time and I thought it was time to get it all sorted out. Once he was behind the wheel, Raj just said the OEM mounts were not fit for Monros after market struts and they were known to fail when the car came out. He recommended a quick dirty fix: Compress the mounts to minimize their motion and if that did not work, wed need to indeed replace the struts and mounts. Problem was solved, I have been driving around for three days now and could not hear the noise once. For this alone, Id give the guys at R&R 5 stars: They did not want to do the expensive work right away and recommended I try the easy free fix first. Never to mention that Raj took me with him on a test drive before and after and pinpointed where/what the problems are. He even switched places and told me: Drive it yourself and tell me if you like the work and if you have any comments. That was all done before I paid them a single penny for their services. I think it is rare that you find honest mechanics these days and thats why Ill be willing to drive 100 miles in the future for the slightest services such as oil change. The list of fixes I had completed that day: Front Exhaust pipe replaced, the problem was Check engine light on and noisy engine. Error code P0171. Full brakes service with rotors, pads and drums(trembling in steering wheel on high speed when braking) and squeaking rear brakes. Rear Suspension bushings and stabilizers(Monro Old Saybrook said I needed to replace rear struts along with the front ones when I first went to them! Luckily I said Id wait at the time). Oil valve Gaskets. Tire rotation and balance. Front strut mounts compression.

The owner is rude. The workers, including the second R (the son) of R&R seems like a decent people, he (the son) does all the work. The father just walks around, chats it up, and bills you. If it wasnt for his nasty disgustingly appalling attitude and the way he handles situations I would say by far this is a recommended place to get services for your car. The price and work seem fair in comparison to some of these crooks out here. But my car magically has a leak after an alignment is done, called him to inquire if he could look at it or could suggest what it is or the causes, he proceeds to yell at me claiming that I was blaming him for something he didnt do. All I wanted was some advice courtesy and help but I got the complete opposite. I just need my car to not leak. Propper protocol in my opinion would have been him saying I dont think its possible for an alignment to cause a leak, maybe its possible that after the alignment was done something that wasnt sitting correctly slipped, so something of that nature, bring it in I can take a look and see how to fix it. But noooooo.... he just assumed Im accusing him and reacts in the worse way possible. The whole time I remained calm but he got belligerent. Then he even rashly said I dont have to take my car there at all. How does he keep a business running like that???

R&R always performs professional service with quality parts. R&R diagnoses and repairs cars the right way the first time while standing behind the work they do and doing it on time. I always feel confident after a repair that I will not have to return for the same issue. If a recommendation is made to repair your car properly, R&R will not compromise on parts service to make more money. My family has been going here for at least ten years because of their integrity and professionalism.

I happened upon this shop when looking to car inspected. From the moment I walked in I was treated well. While there, I spoke with numerous customers who didnt have one bad word to say about them. I am a new car owner and have a lot of questions. They patiently answered my questions and invited my to come back anytime. This place is a diamond in the ruff! From the service to the prices, I would recommend them to my anyone.

Lets keep this our little secret, but these guys are the real deal. Raj will get you going and wont try to rip you off. Hes especially good with Toyotas. Ive been brining my cars to him for years and have found no reason to change even though I now live a little further away. DM

Raj is RUDE. Wont ever go back there. Went because a reputable source recommend him and his shop. But after more than one interaction with him I can say I am thoroughly disgusted with his choices on how to speak to paying clientele.
