This is how you write a proper review of a business on Google. I cant believe the number of losers who wont even have the courage of putting their real name about a business review on a website, yet if dont they get things their way they review things badly and ruin things for the rest of us. An educated consumer is our best customer -SY Symms BTW, I am not the business owner but a satisfied customer. 76 Street Auto Repair at 7602 New Utrecht Avenue on the West side of the street next to the subway station, is probably the rarest of things you can find in New York. A honest independent auto repair shop that tries hard to make repairs right the first time but the clientele and the parts store continually let them down. Joe is the master mechanic, with Mohammad his junior. They work on everything that has a internal combustion engine, even to gas power sprayers with Briggs and Stanton engines. No appointment is necessary , open six days week , except Sundays. Saturdays from 8am to 1pm otherwise 8am to 4pm. Thanks to their expertise, I got great service from my Land Rover Discovery and my current Jeep Cherokee which is going into a quarter million miles. Pros: they know their stuff. Dont come if you dont want to ask questions. No such things as a stupid question. Please dont waste their time. Open door policy usually means people come in waves with various problems. If you want a honest mechanic, this is the place. If you own a Mercedes or BMW, they talk it. But if you have a Check Engine Light on your Porsche, and you just want the light off, dont come there. The Check Engine light is on for a reason. Go to your Porsche dealer and let them kill you with kindness. Cons: The parts place they use are idiots and the back-and-forth between the office and Joe is because they ordered the part and either they sent the wrong part or the part is broken. Had my brakes done. First the parts place sent the wrong ones for a Grand Cherokee instead then the warehouser got bad then threw or dropped one of the drums, breaking it. Their parts place always cost them time and money. Expect the car to be all day there unless it is a oil change or inspection. Admire Joes blue Chevy Impala the Intimidator which he built a year ago with a crate engine. It looks like it just came from the factory. They do hand car washes as well. They are as rare as hens teeths and they are truly the pussys whiskers. Take your loved ride and expect the best service money can buy. Update: Dated on August 18.2016 The owner, Alexis, is on a mission to killing off his own business. He has the best master mechanic in the business, 20+ working for him, some 30 years total, yet Alexis is running the business to bankuptcy. I was one of his best customers. Put thousands of dollars because he has working for him the best mechanic in probably all of Bay Ridge, Bath Beach, and Bensonhurst. But the owner is on the march to oblivion. He does not talk properly to his cliente, has fits of anger and rage (because he had an brain anaurym is now on anti-seizure medications that are affecting his personality and his judgement. I can say that because I am an EMT of 25 years, 22 with the FDNY, and seen his character and personality change before my eyes. He tells practically most of his long-term customers that they are drug dealers, selling pills to his employees. He has chased his mechanics girlfriend out of his shop, stating the same. I will not be going back to this shop for any automotive work again, unless he sells the business and seeks medical attention. I hope someone , like his landlord, reads this and removes him off the lease. I hope he does not get injured or killed for his actions. He thinks he is safe with a baseball bat. I have already seen one customer pull up to his shop with a hidden handgun on their passenger seat, should he act up and go into a rage. This is a tragedy, because I could help him , but he does not even want me on the premises. He has already verbally threatened me and I do not want to be the one who locks him up.
