Car was involved in accident on 06/07/2017. Police officer (who seemed to be somehow involved with these guys) offered no choice for us in terms of which tow truck company we can use. He claimed that it was a liability issue which I think is absolute nonsense, but we said fine and told him the address to our selected body shop. Now the tow truck driver tells us that we dont have the choice to select where we want the car towed and he started to raise his voice and getting defensive. At that point the Officer once again butted in and said it can only go to there body shop (something seems odd, doesnt it!!!). In the end the officer told us that it has to go to Advanced Auto Body. Now we have no choice the car gets towed and taken to there shop. My next step was to have it towed out of there shop to my shop because if there that shady with there tow truck dealing, I can only imagine what they will do to my car. Heck you never know, maybe theyll tell me that my car doesnt need airbags, and to ask the nice police officer because he would agree!!!! I call them and tell them that I am coming to pick up the car with my body shops tow truck. The guy on the phone gets real heated (might need his radiator fixed) and starts screaming at me on the phone with statements that seem to be alternative facts. And every minute that I push back, he changes his story changes and he eventually tells me I dont have time to be on the phone. What great customer service. We eventually get to the shop and are getting ready to pay when surprisingly another issue comes up. On the tow truck the price is clearly marked 125.00 for the tow. Instead the man tells me that its 245. 125 for the tow, 75 for labor, 25 dollars for storage plus 20 dollars in tax. Who charges labor for a tow, thats already rolled into the price. At this point I know these guys are crooks, I can only imagine what they are doing to the insurance companies there billing. Nonetheless, I didnt have my credit card with me and provided him with the numbers. He advised me that he didnt know how to punch the numbers into the credit card machine. HMMMMMMMM. If you cant do something as simple that, how can I expect you to fix my brakes????. I told him fine, give me 15 minutes. I had my dad bring the credit card and now all of a sudden my card is not acceptable at all and that I can only pay cash. Figures, a place like this would do that because they know they have no rite to charge for the extra "labor costs" and the less paper work that can be traced the better. We finally got the car towed, and luckily my airbags are still there. I would just have to say avoid this place at all costs. They treat you like garbage, there incompetent and involve themselves in some shady practices. And shame on the officer for putting us through this. Nobody wants to have to go through such a hassle, especially after having an accident.

My father suffered a stroke and was involved in an accident. The police towed his car to this body shop. I called Nicky to see if I could have my car released over the phone. He spent 5 minutes trying to convince me to have the car repaired at his shop, and when he finally understood that I would not repair my car at his shop, he told me that he would not release the car until I came in person. I was understanding, and even though I live in NJ, I took the trip out there because my father was in the hospital and I wanted to hurry the process along. Nicky greeted me, I signed the papers, and he told me that the car was released and I was good to go. From this point on, he made it a living hell for me to get my car. My insurance company tried 5 times to pick the car up. He refused to answer their calls, he lied to me multiple times, saying nobody was coming by, and he kept doing everything that he possibly could to make my life miserable and to charge my insurance company more money for storage. The body shop I was working with told me that hes been in business for many years and that many customers complained about the same thing. This is not the way you run a business. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not only using loopholes to make people suffer, but for being liars. This repair center embodies the culture of the sleazy mechanic trying to nickel and dime you for everything they can.

Ive used these guys twice and both visits have been good experiences. The first time I was involved in an accident in bay ridge the police called them to tow my car. I was unsure but I felt safe that they were licensed by the city so I had them tow it back to their shop for repairs. The wrecker driver was very courteous and took care of the insurance paper work, also getting me a rental car the same day. After 6 days my car was back to me in perfect condition. This was back in 2006, and now this past January 2009 some schmuck ran a stop sign on Narrows ave wrecking my one month old Toyota highlander, called Nick at Advanced and he sent a flatbed right down to get me. This time we had a slight dispute with my insurance company since they were badgering me to have their preferred shop fix my car, glad I had Nick and Steve working for me, they knew the ins company was breaking the law and quoted them the rules so they finally left me alone to have my car repaired where I felt safe. This time the damage was extensive so the job took 17 days but once again back to me in perfect shape. Im glad I trusted these guys, they may not handle everyone with kid gloves but they try, do excellent work, and know their job. Thanks Guys JKS

I only put 1 star because theres no way you can leave 0 stars. I had my car towed and they charged me $175 for the tow and $25 for "storage" even though when I arrived my car was still on the tow truck on the side of th street. And $75 "labor flatbed" when I asked him what the labor was for he said it was the labor to get it on the tow truck. Really? Then whats the tow fee for? He said its for getting it to his shop. And he added another $20 just because. Do not deal with these guys they are a bunch of sleezebags.

The staff is rude and abusive. They refused to provide a written invoice until the bill was paid. They refused to even document an estimate. They refused to interact with the insurance company. They insulted us and held the car hostage. This place should not be in business. Theyre definitely running a scam on desperate people.

Well, they DID finish my car. However, every couple days they told me the car would be done in a few more days. They told the insurance adjuster 10 days and it took about 42 days. Nothing but excuses, rudeness and unprofessionalism. If only I could do it again...
