This gym should get no stars based how filthy and deplorable the condition the gym is kept. There are plenty of machines but a good amount are broken and need repair. The locker rooms are disgusting and need to be completely demolished. Dont use them unless you plan on bringing home some mice and roaches with you. The machines and areas for the weights look like they havent been cleaned in months. You can see sweat marks and dirt on and around all the machines in the gym. The "disinfectant spray" they provide to clean the machines before and after your workout is water in a spray bottle. You would think that after Sandy the owners would finish repairing the facility but thats definitely not the case. The gym is in a good location and has good parking (but be sure to dodge the potholes in the parking lot). I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt when I was told upon signing my membership the gym has new upgrades coming. After a few months, I gladly cancelled my membership and went in search for a better fitness facility. Being that I would have to put my personal belongings in a locker while in the pool area and that wasnt happening under any circumstances, I cant say much for the pool because I never used it. I could only assume it may be clean because there is chlorine in it. Also, you might as well play basketball outside in a park on the concrete because its the same inside this gym with no hardwood floors.

I have been a member for 8 years and have largely found it to be a well equipped facility with enough machines and options for a relatively large crowd. A little more attention could be paid to details and complaints. However, Augie and Charlie along with the rest of the crew are doing their best to keep it going. Hope it will continue to be around long into the future. The free parking is a major asset.

This is the worst gym ive ever been to. The treadmills are older than my 7 yr old daughter. The bikes didnt work, the pool was warm but DIRTY. I wouldnt recommend this gym to anyone. I wouldnt of even gave it 1 star, but i was forced to. I joined 1 day & cancelled my membership on the same day & they charged me $150. Avoid at all cost

This is probably one of the dirtiest fitness facilities Ive ever visited. The pool and basketball areas are deplorable. The rest rooms are disgusting. I wanted to join, but the facility is old, dirty and outdated.

Paerdegat Athletic Club has new owners and a new management team as of 2012. We now go by the name PacPlex. The facility has undergone MAJOR RENOVATIONS. Come and see for yourself.
