CROOKS! I noticed my brakes start squealing 2 days ago. It has 40000 miles on it. I took it to one place that told me I needed new pads and rotors all the way around. They offered to show me the wear while it was still up on the hoist, so I looked, didnt see any abnormal wear, but Im no expert and told them that I wanted to get another opinion. Besides, in my experience, if you change the pads when they first start squealing you dont do much damage to the rotors. Today, I took it Midas Centereach because I have dealt with Midas in Canada (my home) in the past. They told me that the front brakes looked good, but the back needed new pads and rotors. I figured that I must have been wrong about the rotors and told them to go ahead, but that I would like to see the parts after. Once all work was done, they showed me rotors that were VERY corroded, pitted and worn. I am 99% sure they werent the rotors I saw on my vehicle yesterday, instead probably rotors they had pulled off some high mileage vehicle that had been abused. If the mechanic at the other place had showed me that kind of wear I would have had them switched in a second, and when I said I was getting another opinion, why wouldnt he point out the most possible wear to convince me to trust him!?!? Please dont make the same mistake as I did, avoid this place!!

Called for a safety inspection for a 2013 car and an oil change, I was told the day prior my "appointment" was at 11:30 am and I would wait for the services to be performed as opposed to leaving my car there. I arrived at the shop at 11:31 am, it took the receptionist over 15 minutes to get to me (there was nobody else waiting to speak to her besides myself). At that point I was asked my information to pull up the "appointment"; the information was provided to her. She asked me "are you dropping off the car?" I explained to her I would prefer to stay with my vehicle as past experience has taught me; an oil change takes about 10 - 15 minutes, and a safety inspection on a car thats ONE year old takes another 10 - 15 minutes. Her response is "oh you want to wait, this process takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours" Are they kidding me?! So what is the point of taking the "appointment" if youre not going to perform the services at that specific time, additionally; How in the world could it take 2 - 2 1/5 hours. I smell a shop that wouldve created things that needed to be "corrected". I assure you, my car is literally; 14 months old and has 15,100 miles...what a joke. STAY AWAY from these crooks! Please keep in mind though; Midas is a franchise, so dont let crooks like these steer you from trusting another Midas shop.

i ususally go there but not anymore i truly believe i was scammed!!i got a passing on my inspection..then a day and half later my brakes suddenly failed and i magically spilled all my brake fluid so i was told i needed new cylinders because of a leak that they" supposedly" check for during inspection...anyway$400 dollars later which caused a hardship for me i had to go back again because the brakes still felt loose and still do!!my friggin life was in danger driving with that...now theres something wrong with my coolant which i keep losing...never going back!!!!cant be trusted they were bound and determined to make money off me...this isnt the first time either...now i have nothing but problems with my car ..i had NONE when i went in was going to report it to my attorney general but i dont know if it can be proved that they tampered with my vehicle but i truly believe so

Came in for an oil change and inspection, as my regular shop doesnt do inspections. I was told me I needed new front brake pads, rear shoes, and wheel cylinders. Quoted over $700 for what should be half of that price (again, just pads, shoes, and cylinders, no rotors or resurfacing). I replaced the pads and shoes, but the cylinders were bone dry. One of my front calipers was seized, I suppose that could have caused the fluid leak, so ill give them the benefit of the doubt, and I appreciate that they didnt run the inspection before telling me about the brakes . But thats a pretty steep quote... if youre not comfortable doing your own work, you may want to call around.

DO NOT GO HERE!! SCAM ARTISTS, BEWARE!! I called and said my brakes were bad but that i would take care of that and I had a drivetrain issue if i dropped it off could they let me know how bad of an issue the drivetrain was so i could decide if its worth it to do any of the work. No problem drop it off. So I do, he calls me back and says you have a brake issue so we cant diagnose it unless you let us fix the brakes first. Are you kidding me!!! I told you that!! Now they want me to pay them for telling me that otherwise I cant pick up my car.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

They wouldnt honor a valid Midas oil change coupon. Counter lady was not helpful at all. Used them once before for a flat repair and they over charged! Will never go back.
