DO NOT EVER GO INTO THIS SHOP UNLESS YOU PLAN ON PURCHASING A PART TO INSTALL YOURSELF. Conclusion These people prey on people who know nothing about cars, and for those who do they cause you more problems. The mechanics there are the worst mechanics in the world and they have the audacity to overcharge people. Experience #1 Took my car for an oil change and the kid forgot to put the cap back on the engine. Oil ended up spilling over everywhere under the hood and when I took it back and asked the kid to at least honor me by refilling the oil that spilled he said no he couldnt do that and just put the cap which he forgot back on the engine. Experience #2 Did my own brake job and air got in through the caliper by accident so my brakes werent working. Took it there to diagnose the problem and the mechanic told me that I had to replace both cylinders along with other parts that had nothing to do with the issue. The job would have cost me like $800 - $900. I told him that everything worked fine until I changed my brakes and the only issue is that air got in so the only thing that needed to be done was the brakes needed to be bleeded. He recanted on his prior diagnosis and agreed to do it for $30 so I figured Id oblidge him for taking time to check through the car. Afterwards my brakes were still not working well, so I tried my emergency brakes to see if the worked still (they were working perfectly before I gave them my car), and they werent.

The issue: Caught a flat on the L.I.E. and GEICO hooked me up with mounting my spare. However, nearby shops where closed and only Pep Boys was open. The offer: Pep Boys offered to change the tire for a new Falcon tire at a total cost of $200 for parts, labor, install. I had no choice here since everyone else was closed. The realest rip off: 5 hours later I get a low air pressure light on the new tire, this is on a brand new 2013 Nissan Altima. I go the following morning to a Pep Boys in Tremont in the Bronx and the incompetent mechanic tells me the tire air valve is to blame. With all good intentions, I drive out over 2 hours to my Nissan dealership and they took me in, said the valve is perfectly fine, took the car for a road test and found the incompetent mechanics at Pep Boys have no idea how to install a tire. FAIL. Avoid Pep Boys at all costs, go to Firestone or directly to your dealership. The icing: The morons at Tremont wanted to charge me $30 to mount my spare tire because it was "my fault", I had to beg the manager to waive the cost. And they leave your trunk a mess, dont restock the components that go below your trunk mat, they just throw it all over.

STAY AWAY! They dont even deserve a Star. Went to get my brakes done at 9:30am on a Monday morning. Only 3 customers in the dingy, disgusting waiting area. My brakes worked (stopped the car) and I DID NOT have a Flat Tire when I pulled in. After I refused to do the work at there Rip Off shop ($650) for rear brakes pads, rotors and 1 caliper That By The Way DID NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED. The older West Indian "mechanic" that inspected my car on the lift put back the tires and brakes. 1- Rear passenger tire was Flat with a nail in it. When I noticed it was flat while it was still on the lift, he starts catching an Attitude with me that I brought the car in like that. 2- I had them fill the tire back up with air and I plugged the tire myself 3- He never put back on 1- Brake Pad back on the rear driver side 4- After I drove for 1/2 a mile my car did not want to stop. Took my car to a local mechanic, after they inspected the car that is when I was told it was missing a brake pad and that there was nothing wrong with the caliper. He replaced my (2)Rear Rotors and Rear Brake Pad 11/2 hours later Total Cost - $240 Labor and Parts

Service here is great! I have an 07 Range Rover. Andrew Hutchinson, the service manager, Jean, the tech, and the rest of the staff all went above and beyond doing the right thing and even things that arent expected, to resolve my issues.....And for all this to take place on a Saturday, an extremely busy Saturday, is not an effort lost on me. I could have been turned away and asked to return another day, and the request would have been expected and understood. However, they all worked as a team to not only resolve the matter, but to do so in a timely manner! They do get it at this store. They understand being a consumer and make things happen. They try to find the best of solutions to a problem that they did not create to facilitate a customers inconvenience. I will always bring my cars here going forward. No gimmicks, no excuses, no promises made that they cant keep, no trying to sell services that arent needed. I was treated as all consumers can only hope to be treated.... Great job guys... Thank you.

Some of the workers are nice and they can be pretty quick (sometimes) but the Manager Doug is a bit rude and last time I went to get oil change the person putting my car back in the lot or doing the test drive must have been smoking in my car or maybe his clothes smelled like smoke bc my car smelled like smoke, weed, something, I'm not sure because when I went inside of my car it smelled horrible, that's not professional...I didnt want to complain at that moment but I did complain the next day and the manager said he can refund my money and fire the person n I don't want to get anyone in trouble but that needs to be addressed with his workers, I shouldn't go into my car with it smelling like smoke or weed and I know it didn't smell like that before I gave them my car, they're a mess

Ive been going to Pep Boys in Elmont for years. To be honest, each time I needed to, I dreaded going. Today, I need a new tire after a blowout. Hands down, NICOLE is 5 stars. This was literally the best experience Ive had at Pep Boys, all thanks to Nicole. Nicole has a very pleasant, warm personality, and you can tell that she goes above and beyond for the customer. Instead of having the technicians attempt a tire repair (which wouldnt have been possible and would have lengthened my time in the shop), she took a look at the tire, knew it couldnt be fixed, and instead discussed a new tire with me. I was done within an hour, and she had my car meet me at the door. Thanks Nicole for literally the best Pep Boys experience in over 10 years of being a customer. Your an asset to their team.

This place is garbage. Will be contacting corporate sometime this week and lets see their response. All of the reviews below me are accurate on what is wrong with this place. Spent hundreds of dollars at this place and the same problem still arise with my car. I want a refund or send me to another place. Place is filled with incompetent people. Staff extremely lazy and slow at doing things. I dont usually comment or write these things but this time, this place really pissed me off. HOW CAN A PLACE LIKE THIS EXIST? DOES PEPBOYS EVEN CARE ABOUT THEIR FRANCHISE? this place is a joke, they charge $$$$ but cannot do their job correctly. WILL NEVER RETURN and WILL CONTACT THE PEPBOYS CORPORATE!
