If there was an option for ZERO stars I would have chosen that. This place is such a scam. The manager Dennis is so rude and the owner Patricia Schneider is even worse. When I went to go pay the $70 bucks for them looking over my car and I signed off that I was taking it, they would not release my car keys to me until the tow truck came, it was the weirdest thing I have ever heard. Thankfully I had a spare key on me to get my AAA card out of my car to call the tow company! They did not diagnose my car correctly, it turned out to NOT be the transmission. They wanted to put a new/used transmission in my car that would have cost me over $2000 dollars, it turned out to be something that cost a lot less. When I called the owner Patricia to let her know what it was, she got very defensive, started screaming at my on the phone telling me I dont know what I am talking about, and that I am wrong and my car will break down soon. Meanwhile my car is running perfectly. I have never met a lower company in my life. I would never ever bring my car back here ever again! DO NOT take your car here, if you do, they will scam you! Patricia has NO integrity!

Aamco of Mahopac =Professional and honest service Getting stuck on a recent trip was no fun. Being out of town, you are not eager to trust anyone. But having my car towed to Aamco of Mahopac was a great call. In 20+ years of driving both new and used vehicles, I have NEVER received such detailed diagnosis! Well worth the cost. Dennis, the manager, then spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, going through each issue, making sure I understand one before going to the next. We decided not to fix the car, and there was no pressure to. Since I could not spend the day waiting for buyer to pick up the car, Dennis helped me with transaction. I am sorry I live too far from Aamco of Mahopac to service my car there regularly, but I highly recommend it to anyone in need of an honest and qualified mechanic.

When the clutch on my 2003 Honda Civic failed, I brought the car to AAMCO for an estimate … I was given a detailed estimate for parts and labor to sign-off on prior to the work … following the repair, a comprehensive diagnostic revealed severe ignition system problems … again, I was given a detailed estimate … the repair took two days and during this time I was ferried back and forth from home at my convenience … when the work was completed, Dennis, the manager, was not satisfied with the way the car ran and the tune-up was tweaked twice more on their “nickel” … the result is that my 2003 now runs like a new car … can’t compliment Dennis, Joyelle and the mechanics enough about the service received at AMMCO Mahopac !!! … highly recommended …

Driving a vehicle with a slipping transmission is as dangerous as driving your vehicle with no breaks. Pulling out into traffic with a slipping transmission can cause a serious accident. I lost all my faith in this vehicle until I met Denis from Aamco in Mahopac. His 40 years of training and professionalism restored my faith in driving this car once again. He went over with me in detail and repaired my car in a timely fashion. I can now drive with assurance my vehicle is safe. Denis and Pat the owner worked me with me every inch of the way. Dennis was extremely helpful and professional. And they did have my car back quickly, and right now all is well. That said, after receiving my bill for a rebuilt transmission at a cost of $2,200.00 it is clear that after doing some research on purchasing a factory rebuilt transmission and quotes for a installation they are extremely more expensive. I am not posting this because I feel ripped off or they did anything wrong. I agreed to the price, because after the transmission is out of your car , you really cannot get quotes elsewhere. Just do your research, thats all I am saying.

So glad I came here! I couldnt be more impressed with the service and the manager. Dennis is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything clearly in a very pleasant straightforward manner. Im suspicious of the demeanor of the reviewer who claims rude treatment. I had nothing but the best experience. Ive put 60,000 miles on my transmission since they rebuilt it and they have stood behind their work and have monitored its continued great performance. Dennis is my self proclaimed auto repair guru. His advice has proven true every time. I highly recommend this Aamco location.

I took my 2010 Nissan Pathfinder here for some preventive maintenance. In general, when Ive brought a vehicle to a shop for any sort of diagnostic, they turn around and recommend that I replace basically everything that isnt welded to the frame. AAMCO gave me what I believe was an honest assessment of what did and did not require attention at the time I brought the car in, and their honesty shall not go unrewarded as I intend to bring the aforementioned vehicle along with others to them for service in the future. The employees I spoke with directly were Dennis and Joelle.

I just want to thank everyone at Mahopac AAMCO for fixing my car, especially Denis. He spoke with me on the phone and asked several questions to try and understand what problems I was having. Unlike the other 3 other places I called that seemed annoyed and just said to "bring it in", Denis was able to explain to me what most likely the problem was, and when I did bring my car in, he was able to quickly confirm the actual problem and perform repairs quickly and get me back on the road.

I took my Ford Expedition to AAMCO of Mahopac for what I thought was a transmission problem. They found the problem was actually a transmission range sensor, outside of the transmission. They fixed my problem quickly and for a lot less money than other places that had quoted me transmissions. They know how to fix transmissions, not just replace them. Clean! Friendly! Honest! These guys really are the transmission experts! I will go back to AAMCO Mahopac for all my car services.

Customer service was impeccable. They were very responsive throughout the process. They explained everything that they were doing and gave details about what was wrong. This was so helpful since I know little about cars. They didnt pressure me to fix other issues, only the most important one a hand. When I dropped off my car, the owner gave me a ride home.
