The worst experience I ever had. "Schweb is a con artist at this trade. I went to Aamco because I had a check engine light. On 10/4/14 it was a Saturday and they close at 12pm. I was asked to leave my car. On Monday I get a call from "Schweb" and he starts to say maam you have a Volvo, the parts for this car is very expensive. I need your authorization to look at your transmission and the only way I can see the problem is if I take it out. So I said okay. Had I known what I know $700.00 today I would of said no. So he calls me on 10/8/14 and tells me that since I have a Volvo 2001 its going to be very expensive to fix. He said the cost to rebuilt the transmission will cost me $3695.00 and that I needed an engine mount and that will cost $495.00. So I said to him, put back the transmission. Then he said maam, you have to pay for the labor. I asked him how much was the labor because Im not going to pay $3695.00 to rebuilt the transmission. He would not tell me the cost of the labor. Long story short, I had my boyfriend go to the shop with a flatbed tow truck because I did not want to pay for him to put back the transmission or the storage fee. My boyfriend went with the tow truck and he refused to give him the car. He claimed that he could not allow him to take the car open like that and he didnt want anyone to laugh at him. So my boyfriend left with out the car. On 10/28/2014 I was furious because I thought I can trust Aamco with my car. I called and told the gentle man on the phone that I did not want anyone touching my car because I did not trust "Schweb" anymore. He made my boyfriend sign a letter stating he is not liable for anything with my car. And he charge me $700.00 because "Schweb" stated he had to charge me for something. This man is a dishonest crook. I was not explained anything in the beginning when he asked me to authorize him to take out my transmission. He admitted that he was wrong for not telling me. And said it was a miscommunication on his behalf for not telling me about any charges if I did not want anything done after he took out the transmission. But I had to pay $700.00. He did not give me an itemized bill for the charges. This man is crook. A liar and a thief. Do not go to this man. I report him to the BBB. This place is not woman friendly!

Horrible experience. Rebuilt transmission made the whole car vibrate terribly. The manager blamed it on other things all of which I had repaired for an additional thousand dollars. Still no improvement. The shifter cable broke during all of this going on so I left the car again. It sat there for a week without them even looking at it. So I took it elsewhere to be fixed. I was told Aamco was to blame for the broken cable, and that the transmission brackets, mount, and pan were improperly re-installed. Upon returning to Aamco and approaching the manager he told me I had work done elsewhere on the car and could now not honor my warranty. They also ignored two attempts from the BBB for a resolution. So now I have no choice but to go to small claims court.

I recently bought a lemon from USA 1 auto dealership in Brooklyn , the car has a bad transmission. I came to aamco and saw Nicholas which was very helpful. My diagnosis showed I had a bad transmission. I brought the car back to the dealer and after 37 days they returned it to me with a receipt stating it was fixed. On my way home the car started to stall, I called Nicholas and asked to bring it in for a 2nd diagnosis. Instead of having me tow the car to him and charge me another 89.99 he suggested it bring it to someone closer to me so I could save on the towing cost & on the taxi back home. Most ppl wouldnt care but Nicholas is the F*cking best....

Worst place ever been to .managers is jackass .never experienced a place that a manager has no clue on managing a shop dont have no clue on writing up work orders and dealing with insurance companies.dont inform customers on parts and labor . And not willing to work with Customer on price ,to charge a customer over $300 for transmission filter and fluid it was ridiculous. Mechanics was very helpful but they need to get rid of the manager . I should have noticed the clues when you stàrted talking to the manager and he had no clue on transmissions testing and procedure and idealings with insurance company. I say beware

After being told by two different shops that i needed a transmission for my 06 tribute a friend suggested i try aamco lynbrook because of how happy she was with the work they did on her transmission. . Boy am i lucky to have a friend like her turns out i didnt need a transmission after all, the problem was a sensor and some frayed wires. Nicolas the manager a fairly new transplant from another aamco center and his crew were pleasant and very knowledgeable .They found my problem and fixed it for a fraction of the cost saving me a couple of thousand dollars . WAY TO GO GUYS YOU ROCK!!!

Very professional!!!!!!! I have a fleet of vans and since the first the service they did, I had the my company change over to them. My vehicles go there on a regular basis now and I am very satisfied... They will keep the vehicle if needed an extra day to make sure it is running 100%. OUTSTANDING WORK!!!!!!! DOUBLE "A" M C O!!!

i was over there about two weeks ago it was the best experience i ever had the people there where vary caring about my needs it was quick accessible and vary convenient. my car problem was fixed and i didnt even have to worry about something happening again to it.

Nicholas was very accommodating. I brought the car in, next day he called to inform me what the issue was - transmission had to be rebuilt. He explained in details what would be replaced, of course the costs and when I could pick my truck up..
