Deceptive and fraudulent is a good starting point. I brought in a car with a clear misfiring cylinder. After stating a compression and leakdown test had been performed, I was told the engine was dead, that the cylinder in question had too massive a leak to work. Now, Im not mechanic, so I google these tests and all the sites suggest that when a leakdown is performed, you can generally (not always, but in most cases) identify where the compression loss is coming from. When I inquired about this, I was simply told the engine didnt work. I had to ask several different times and ways before I got a generic - "one of the valves is leaking air". The mechanic was definitely not interested in sharing any details. I suspect it was because he didnt actually run the test. Back to the engine. I was told the mechanic replaced all 4 spark plugs and coils which had no impact. The bottom line: I was told I needed a new engine. The mechanic was emphatic that there was no way to fix the engine without taking it apart and who knows what they would find. When I told him I was going for a second opinion, again I was told, go ahead, but hell find the same thing, engine needs replacing. When I brought it to a trusted mechanic 35 minutes away, he was able to get the car running smoothly by simply replacing the coil. Weird, right? So I go back to C&A... and inquire how it was that the engine runs perfectly with a coil replacement. I am told that well, he could have fixed the engine (so why didnt he when I was there) but that he was concerned that the engines next weakest link (one of the other cylinders) would likely give out shortly after ultimately resulting in needing a new engine. One would think that that would be helpful information. I can fix it, but we choose not to. I can work with that. Instead, he did not tell me the truth, did not present options and was clearly wrong about what it would take to fix it. I dont know what the angle was but this was incompetence or fraud. Not sure which, I tend to think more of the latter. While this is only one data point, I can simply not believe how this situation was handled by C&A and upon requesting a refund or some discount for the false and misleading information, I was stonewalled. I would avoid this place and look for one with better recommendations. Not worth the risk.

I have been a custome of the service / repair facility located at 287 US Rt 6 for over 10 years. Jerry recently became the new owner and face of the business. Jerry has also put new life, character, class and a fresh new appearance to the business and the staff. Having retired from this industry myself, I am very pleased to continue to bring my vehicles to this business for service. I can easily see the integrity and honesty of the service Jerry and the staff bring with them. I knew the integrity and honesty was always there, even under previous managment. But under Jerrys direction, somehow it feel like it has risen to a new level. As a customer, I can truly feel comfortable with knowing either my car or truck is truly in good hands.

The staff is always so helpful and not pushy at all ! I never feel like i am being pushed into buying things i dont need. They always explain everything in detail and even show you the issue so you know that you really need whatever it is that they are recommending. The word of mouth from this place was enough for me to try them... but their exceptional service and their polite and down to earth staff made my visit such a positive one! AND they have a knowledgeable female in the office , which was nice for me , as a woman, to talk to another woman about my car and my tires. She was great!

I have serviced my cars at C & A for about five times. Generally, I deal with Jerry and on few occasions I have spoken to the mechanic. Without exceptions, all my experiences with Jerry and his staff are positive. They are all patient, attentive and very specific (however, in laymans language) when describing issues and resolutions with which I come to their shop. The work is done promptly. And the quality is high - I never went back to "re-fix" or readjust anything. Highly recommend to anyone. Michael

My daughters car is 13 years old with 185,000 miles They always take the time to explain what needs to get taken care of. Left my car overnight during a snow storm and expected I might have to dig out. I didnt even need to clean my car off it was done when I got there on Sunday and they were closed.
