this was my first experience with syracuse computer store, and it will be my last. took my computer in to the store, with suspected virus, after making a call that id be coming by. a service ticket was written up and the pricing information should have been my first indication this might not be a great experience... service rates are $65/hour. thats steep but not entirely unexpected. however, i was encouraged to spend an additional $20/hour (now $85/hour in case youre keeping track) for "expedited service." whats expedited service, i asked? well, if you dont do expedited we probably wont get to looking at it for about 3 days - if you pay for expedited we will look at it immediately and, based on what youve described, have it done for you in a day. great - i need my computer - lets pago up and get expedited. after 2 full days id heard nothing from them so i called. oh, uh, yes, your computer is done - uh, almost. can you come by and pick up this afternoon? great, ill do that. get there and the computer is still hooked up "doing a diagnostic and downloading software" (?), can you come back in a few hours? ok, by now the service issue is really irritating. no, i cant come back - you told me it would be done - i paid "expedited" for it to be done YESTERDAY. so after $170 + tax i get my computer back and, guess what? the virus is gone but theyve installed a filter on video viewing that requires me to take it back - again. were up to 4 days without a computer now and its still not fixed. when i brought it back in a second time the two owners (husband and wife team) were incredibly rude and dismissive and interruptive. i just wanted to talk to the tech who worked on my computer - who was quite friendly and kind - and get this fixed. "he works for me - you should talk to me" said the owner. uhh, no, id like to talk to him since he knows whats been going on. computer is back in my possession nearly a week later all-told, to the tune of over $230. i will not go back. bad customer service and sketchy repair work that doesnt inspire confidence.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Syracuse Computer Store is also known as Super Service Center. This place was the biggest joke I have ever dealt with. They fix computers and other appliances. On June 10th they stated they could fix my portable LG air conditioner. The technician came to my house, told me it would be easier if he brought it in to their shop and that it should be fixed in 7 days. After 7 days I called and was told that they had ordered a part and it should be there in the next day or two. After another 5 days I called and they told me there was no one there that could assist me and they would give me a call the next day. Two more days past and I called back. They stated that there was another part wrong and they were going to have to order that. They couldnt put me in contact with the technician, tell me if the part was ordered or even explain when it would be fixed. I told them I was contacting LG and BBB. They then called back and told me they decided after two weeks they couldnt fix the unit because I wanted to contact BBB because of their slow service. There was never even a hint at an apology over the two weeks, they never once reached out to me ( I had to call them multiple times) and then decided they wouldnt fix it because finally outside sources were asking them why it was taking two weeks. Long story short. If you can deal without your computer or appliance for multiple weeks, rude customer service and a chance that they might not even fix it then this is your place.

I have been there a few times. The staff has only been cordial. Computer diagnostics takes time. Of course, Id love them to drop everything and fix mine now, but there are other customers who want their computers fixed, too, and who had left theirs before I left mine. They found the problem and cleaned it up. I was pleased. I have only taken them my windows machines because Apple stands behind Macs, and I always purchase with Applecare. So I have not had occasion to bring them my Macs, my main computers. Apple is a different situation completely because hardware/software are all from one source. Most Windows computers are now patchworks of parts, with operating systems, programs, and hardware all from different sources. So their work is NOT easy. Being primarily a Mac "fanboy", I really appreciate the help they have given me with my Windows computers. I only got to this site today because I have a Windows/Dell computer that wont boot, and looked them up to find their hours. It looks like they took their well-deserved holiday today, as it is Jan. 1, 2014. So Ill bring them my computer tomorrow. Sure I trust them. They have done me well in the past. The sad part of these reviews is that satisfied customers dont usually bother to write them. Its only the occasionally disgruntled customer who will, and EVERYONE, in EVERY FIELD, has the disgruntled customer sometimes. Oh well. Ill be back there tomorrow, giving them my Dell to get running.

I have never experienced worse customer service in my life! I dropped my computer off in late morning and paid for "expedited service" since I lived an hour and a half away at the time. Closing time drew near and I was starting to get a little worried since I heard nothing. I called them back and the gentleman I spoke to stated that they were just hooking my computer up to the diagnostics machine to run it overnight. I explained that I paid for the expedited service and all 3 staff members treated me as if I were stupid because I wasnt familiar with "the process" that no one explained to me. In fact, the person that I spoke to stated that he saw no reason why it wouldnt be ready in the evening. I asked if they could waive the expediting fee and ship the computer back to my home at their own cost due to a communication error on their part. The manager laughed at me and told me that the only way that would happen is if they packed up my computer right now and sent it to me as is. He knew he had me where he wanted me, as I just moved to New York and my whole life was on that computer. They waived the expediting fee, but I still had to pay to have it shipped back to my house. I just couldnt believe how rude these people were to me.

This company is a total joke. I was referred to them by LG for a warranty repair on my Washing Machine. They asked me to send over proof of purchase, which I did, and they told me they would contact me to arrange an appointment. Didnt hear from them after 48 hours so I did some research on them. Theyre basically a computer service store that started serving appliances in 2015. I went to their website and when you click on the "About Us" to view their "staff" what you see are stock photos of fake people with fake names. This company has no BBB record and no BBB rating. Even a company that gets no complaints gets an A with the BBB and this company doesnt even have a record established. I wouldnt trust them with anything. Also, whoever answers the phone there is not very polite.
