Im a music producer close to the end of an album that Ive been working on for about two years now. Up to this point, my entire world has revolved around this 2008 Mac Pro and I was really pushing my software and hardware to its limits. As the months progressed I was beginning to see signs of this machine really breaking down. My studio recording software was bogged down and slow, I was constantly needing to reboot and it was becoming pretty scary. The Apple Helpline was ok but didnt really solve any issues in the long run - to Apple, this machine was now considered obsolete. Last week, in a panic, at having my Apple NOT start up correctly, I called Jay after trying to find someone local who seemed legit. My biggest fear was having to upgrade my OS mid-project (always a no-no) and also losing gigs and gigs of recording files (literally 2 years worth of solid work and collaboration with artists from all over the world). I was also worried that my Time Machine wasnt running correctly - I had backups of this stuff, but its still terrifying nonetheless. In any case, Jay knows his stuff and was more than professional in answering my 1000s of questions. In less than a day, I had my machine back and in probably the best condition Ive had it since the first time I took it out of the box years ago. My software runs flawless, everything is backed up and exactly the way its supposed to be. Absolutely cant recommend these guys enough - really quick and immensely knowledgeable. They know what theyre good at and stick to it (they dont do iPads or iPhones) without trying to be a do-it-all / be-it-all shop, which I think is awesome and the way it should be. Without a doubt, this is my go-to support for anything dealing with this machine and any other Apple purchases in the future.

If your warrantee is up with your Apple product and you are looking for a very practical alternative for service I would definitely recommend Jay. I would compare Jay to your local mechanic vs Apple and the big auto dealer. If you are your families technical guy but dont have the time...Jay could be part of your extended family. He gets to know you and what you need. He doesnt have the same restrictions an Apple dealer would have (all Apple all the time) which gives him the latitude to pick from the best solution for you; whether your goals are cheaper, faster, higher quality and/or just enough to get by. In my case, my Mother-n-Laws iMac is getting older. She didnt really need a new one, she just needed a rebuild and a faster drive (SSD). Apple doesnt typically do an upgrade like that and if they do they definitely overcharge (usually in the neighborhood of double for the same solution). The iMac is performing faster than ever and running perfectly. Ive been working with technology for 20+ years and know it as well as anyone. I probably could have done it myself but didnt have the time or patience to have to learn the nuances of this reasonably complex repair. Jay is very competent and has clearly been around the technical block. For quick turnaround I opted to drop it off but it appears that he does house calls as well. The frosting on the cake is that hes a genuinely nice guy. I doubt youll be disappointed.

I was back in the area when on break from grad school, and my computer kept making this grinding noise of sorts. After doing some online research, I worried it was my hard drive, and looked up where to take it. I really didnt want to go to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, and I found Those Apple Guys via google. It looked like they had some great reviews so I emailed Jay (who was closest to my location) and set up an appointment. Jay responded via email almost immediately. Jay was absolutely wonderful! I was able to get in quickly, and he looked at it right away. It turned out that I needed a new fan (and it wasnt the hard drive!) and he had the part and was able to fix it that morning. Prices were reasonable too! Jay was great and very personable. He also ran some tests to make sure nothing else was failing. I was also missing a foot on the bottom of my computer, and he put a new one on for me. Overall wonderful experience and they will ABSOLUTELY be my go-to for any Apple related problems in the future. Stop looking. Just go here. Its so much less stressful than the Apple Store, more affordable, and more personable (he showed me what was wrong and made a suggestion for an external hard drive to back up my computer- which I just bought). Thanks, Jay!

Jay and Those Apple Guys are top notch!! Jay recently showed quite a bit of concern for our malfunctioning USB port problem. He willingly empathized with the fact that it would be an easy but expensive fix since the USB ports are soldered to the motherboard. I was trying to avoid the big expense and Jay even went so far as offering to research the possibility of finding a cable that might be able convert from lightning to USB so we could find a less expensive work around than replacing the laptop motherboard -- thats great customer service!! Although we had never met before, he treated me as if I were his best customer -- a trait you dont see very often. He was honest, empathetic, knowledgeable, patient, informative and very helpful. The situation was pretty straightforward and Jay knew what the solution would be, but he still went out of his way to relate to my frustration and try everything possible to help me avoid the inevitable -- something he DIDNT have to do!! I will not hesitate to use Those Apple Guys for future service work and I will also definitely recommend their company without reservation. They are not just your average repair place -- they really care about their customers satisfaction.

GO TO JAY. Dont waste your time looking any further. My university said the only way to save my macbook pro was to completely wipe out my hard drive. I almost took their advice because it is 4 years old. But with those 4 years of ownership came years of files and invaluable pictures and videos. Instead, I decided to hold on to my computer until I had enough money for the apple store to fix it. Im so glad I never went to Apple. They make a great product, but Apple never would have helped me with the care and speedy service Jay provided. He is extremely professional and explains everything. He respects the personal nature of his customers computers. He is available and I didnt wait more than a day for him to get back to me while receiving his repair services. As a student, I dont have a lot of money. He was kind enough to set up a payment plan that works for me. He puts out his best work with honesty. He goes above and beyond. I care enough to write this review because he cared enough to get my computer back into my hands within a week of me entrusting it to him. THANKS JAY!! :D

Jay was great! Very hard to find anyone in any field of service that will provide the level of personalized attention and service that I recieved from Jay yesterday. From quickly returning my call to squeezing me into his evening which I am sure he would normally been assisting his wife decorating the tree. He answered "ALL" my questions which were numerous as I am NOT a techie and did so with care, concern and respect, being sure I was comfortable with each step of the process I needed done to my wifes Macbook Pro. Even worked with me to exlain my new Ipad Air and sync it to the Macbook Pro. I recommend him highly to individuals who need and want that personal attention and level of service at the highest quality. If your like me and are tired of not getting the service and attention the Apple Store used to give, and the other Apple individual dealers and Big Box stores wont give as they either are more focused on selling you "NEW" product, or simply are not trained to give. No talking down to anyone here. Jay respects his customers. Doug
