I had been using Body by Berles Personal training for over a year. I recently stop so I could start working out on my own. Body By Berles offers 30min workouts with the idea of training to failure. Basically you do a full body workout going from machine to machine doing only 1 set of 8-12 reps. The idea is that by pushing your body to muscle failure and giving your body a longer recovery time, you can achieve greater results. They only recommend you come twice a week with 3-4 days rest in-between. Every session is $25 but you have to buy 12 sessions at a time for $300. It comes out to about $314 after tax. Its by appointment and you always have a trainer there waiting for you. The trainers are very friendly and pretty knowledgeable. Mr. Berle is also usually around and is always more than happy to answer any questions customers might have. I have to say its a great value for the price, you wont find personal trainer this cheap anywhere else. One of the things I liked about training here was the quickness of just being able to go from machine to machine without stopping, unlike a crowded gym that sometimes requires waiting for machines. The machines are also well kept, and very effective. The trainers are always one step ahead of you, they adjust your seat, set your weight, and count your reps. So the only thing you have to worry about is getting through the motion. Too bad thats the hardest part. Overall its a nice environment to workout in. Its in the fresh meadows parking lot, and there is always a ton of parking, unless its opening night of a new big movie. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Body By Berles to anyone who is 1. New to working out 2. Doesnt have much time to workout during the week 3. Wants to a private setting to workout(never more than 2 other people at max, Most days its you and 1 other person) 4. Someone who is looking for personal training All in all Body by Berles is a good value for what you get. They give 1 free trail workout to get a feel for the place. Anyone interested should take advantage of it.

I drive 45 minutes from Suffolk County to go to Body By Berle and I believe it is worth every cent I have invested and every second of my time because the return on investment is PRICELESS! This is the only place near Long Island, that I am aware of, that practices a truly beneficial program (backed by Science, not hear say) for health and fitness. It is one that safely and effectively works all the major muscle groups in the body. Body By Berle understand the inadequacies of calisthenics and the dangers of “functional” exercises that mimic the skills of a sport while using weights or balancing acts. What Richard Berle, the owner, practices and teaches is exercises on properly designed machines for all the major muscle groups based on muscle and joint function in a manner that strengthens without being unnecessarily hard on the joints. It is done one -on-one with a trainer. My trainer Mindy is 100% focused on me and making sure that I am performing the exercises in proper form, at an effective pace and pushing as hard as I possibly can. The zone that she successfully brings me to during every work out is beyond anything I could do without her (and I have been certified in personal training). The staff times and tracks your progress and keeps you focused. They also encourage proper recovery times and diet regimens to get the absolute most out of the workouts. The work outs are brief but unforgivably tough, so if you are looking for a social event to enjoy this is not for you! Oh yea, and not only do I work out 90% less then recommended by other gyms but I am seeing results I have been hoping for my entire life. I am stronger, I have more energy, and I am leaner and firmer than I ever have been without doing ANY cardio!

My first experience with any sort of gym began with my membership in 2003. It was a nationwide chain that boasted loud music, giant glossy photographs of airbrushed “gym rats”, and a plethora of shiny machines with no instructions on their correct use. Left to my own devices, I naturally used the machines incorrectly, and walked endless miles on the treadmill. The equation was simple: no instruction + no structured goals = no results. I stopped going to the gym (I was accountable to no one there), and not only did I not lose weight, but I gained another 30 pounds. I had had enough. I decided to join Body By Berle Personal Training Center in January, 2017. I entered a whole new realm, that of strength training. I now have one-on-one instruction with a qualified trainer. I use the machines correctly under careful guidance. I have increased my muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Since joining Body By Berle, in conjunction with dieting, I have shed close to 70 pounds. I was on several medications for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and for pre-diabetes. I had a fatty liver as well. I am currently off ALL medications. My liver is no longer fatty. My doctor was so impressed with my now healthy liver, that my case will be documented in medical journals. Weight loss varies with each individual, but proper use of the Nautilus equipment, coupled with conscientious, proficient trainers provide Body By Berle clients with a holistic approach to exercise, building greater muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

Body by Berle is the best gym that I have even been too. It really changed my life for the better. I have been a client for six months. I have improved both my muscular strength and my overall cardiovascular condition. The trainers who work there are very nice and very encouraging. The owner, Richard Berle really knows his stuff. I have never seen a better environment to be in, and never saw better people who wants you to be in good health. Learning from Mr. Berle and his staff, I came to a valid conclusion; you only need to work out EFFICIENTLY for a short period of time to be in good shape, meaning improved muscle strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning. I follow a new diet that eliminates sugars and flour enriched carbs. Since joining Body By Berle, and following a healthy diet, I have lost 20 pounds. Mr. Berle and his trainers continue to have a positive influence on me. I now understand that working out on machines that are engineered to work all the muscles in my body, coupled with working on a one-to-one basis with a trainer for only thirty minutes once/twice a week is all I need to be in optimum physical health.

I recommend everyone give Body By Berle a chance to make your life better. I am in the US Air Force and went here to prepare for basic training and I continue to come every time I take vacation back to Queens. The trainers are very friendly but they push and motivate you to achieve beyond what you think your body is capable of. An added bonus, the workouts are in half hour sessions and sometimes even faster! Do not let that short amount of time fool you though your entire body will get worked out. Being in the military you are conditioned to all different types of physical training but the type of training done at Body By Berle is second to none. After talking to the owner, Richard Berle, a few times learning how compassionate he was and the science behind these workouts I was sold. The gym has a great environment and from my experiences I have seen trainers working with 13 year olds all the way to individuals in their 80s so there is no reason to be shy. It also helps that there is a huge parking lot and the gym is right off the LIE.
