During the wind storm this past winter 2017 that knocked a bunch of debris onto the road, I got a flat tire. I called AAA and these guys came to tow my car. They told me after looking it over it was because the seal to the tire was not tight due to rust. They said they got it sealed again and called me, I came to pick it up and a few hours later it had deflated again. I was charged for this still even after it had not been fixed. I wanted to at least give them the benefit of the doubt and give them some business, I needed an oil change and a few new sparkplugs, all I got was a $5 off repeat customer credit, no compensation for not fixing my tire the first time, (and I am not even sure they replaced all the plugs) as I just said screw it put the spare on. They charged me for not even fixing the issue. When I was able to go back to my hometown with the tire, my mechanic there saw straight away there was a roofing nail (huge nail) through the tire, and said he didnt know how they missed it or resealed as the tire looked largely untouched. These guys did however try to get me to buy a new set of rims (these were my winter rims, rusty but never had an issue until the nail went through them with the seal) Overall, I did not enjoy my experience, I feel like there prices were at least 15-20% higher than most shops I have had experience with. To top this off, the day I picked up my car, my friends battery on his car died and since he had been giving me rides while mine was in the shop, I used a AAA call for him, which I have done in the past. Even told AAA directly I was with my friends car. They were really grumpy and stated "YOU KNOW THIS IS USING ONE OF YOUR CALLS RIGHT?" Guy came initially was nice (when i had a flat the first time in the am) but the older gentleman was rude and kept ignoring what we were telling him, stating we needed to remember batteries for a key fob so this didnt happen (not the issue). Even though the car battery was dead. When he came to help my friend out he couldnt even get in the car with all his tools and was just like "gotta break the glass, you can do it but I wont." (Im sure to avoid having to pay for it or something along those lines) The apartment complex manager for Ambassador Apartments ended up getting us in to his car by getting under the hood and getting the door unlocked after giving the battery some juice (only helpful thing the guy had on him was the battery charger, but i did have cables). Total waste of a call.

I was picked up by Kia roadside assistance by M & R. I would not recommend them, which is unfortunate. Im sure they thought I was just some out of town, damsel in distress, at their mercy. However, coworkers that have used M & R for years, will not use again. I had a flat, on the side of the road w my 3 year old vehicle, purchased brand new. M & R said they could also do an oil change and inspection for me while fixing my tire situation. Whoever called me, "Courtney" , started using phrases like, "well if your vehicle passes inspection"...... ummmmm its a flat tire. I can smell a rat. I told them dont bother with the inspection, as they told me if their inspection failed, a report would be sent to NYS stating what all needed repaired prior to the end of the month. I told them No Thank You, after they tried to talk me into 4 tires. (I did purchase 2. And the total cost was $110 less than the 4 tires I had purchased 15 months ago..... THERE IS A RATHER HUGE DIFFERENCE) Guess what? When they called me back, they said, "well if it looks like it will pass inspection, we will put a sticker on it".... of course it passed after they realized, that it was in perfect condition & they were not going to be able to fleece me any further. Bottom line, I will tell absolutely everyone that will listen, about the slippery business techniques used here. Obviously opportunists. Not reputable. And I also called Kia, spoke to management about my experience, and I hope that M & R loses their contract. Stereotypical "Ill fleece a single woman in a heartbeat" business..... good news, their song & dance will cost them my office managers business. She was so upset, she almost had her husband meet us there. They wont be back either........ born at night. NOT last night. STAY AWAY!!!!! (My windshield is cracked..... but I have an inspection sticker..... go figure!?!?) STAY AWAY. Period.

Brought my dodge pickup in just to have my radiator looked at. They then went through and found every little thing that was wrong with my older truck and wanted to charge me upwards of $3000 dollars to have her "up and running again." Shes 18 years old and I know she has minor bugs but they talked to me like I was an idiot college student who had no idea what I was doing even driving a truck. So I politely picked up my truck, paid them the service fee ($96) that would have been much smaller had they done only what I asked of them and no more, and drove my car directly to another mechanic where they did exactly what I asked, no more and no less. Plus the guy at the front desk never took his ear piece off while he was on the phone to have more than a "youre an idiot" conversation with me. I know I would only have had to pay for my radiator fix if I so chose but its the principle of the matter.

I just took my car there to check my ac, and some noise that keeps coming from the front passenger side. I had never been to this car shop before! I dropped off the car, and went to pick it up 3 hours later. They diagnosed that there is nothing wrong with the ac even though it still doesnt work, and also they said that the front wheel bearing needs to be replaced. They asked for $435 but I chose to shop around and get the bearing changed someplace else. When I went to pick up my car, they had charged me $96 just for checking the car, absolutely no work done! After 15min of arguing back and forth with the front desk representative I was ready to pay the amount just to get out of there. TERRIBLE BUSINESS EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!

For 10 years we took cars to M & R for inspections and service, trusting that they (being our small-town friends) would be honest. However, in ten years, NONE of our cars ever passed inspection without some necessary "work" first. We were ok with that, because we trusted them. This year, my husband replaced the brakes on our van, and sure enough, M & R said that our van failed inspection because of the brakes. We called the Department of Motor Vehicles and they sent someone out to inspect our van. It passed with flying colors. DMV can only give M & R a warning for the first time they are caught. Please file a report if you feel that they are falsely failing your car or trying to get you to do unnecessary repairs.
