We were towed to this service station on our way back to Canada from Florida last week. They replaced the radiator and we were sent on our way at 4:40 p.m.. Heading through Connecticut, 54 miles later in rush hour traffic and rain, we broke down again. My husband looked under the hood and found that a clamp was not connected properly so we had a tow truck take us back to the garage where we arrived at 9:30 p.m. As we had called them, upon arriving an employee told us he had called a taxi to take us to a motel. When we got to the motel, he charged us $20 and promised to pick us up in the morning, which he did for another $20. At 10 oclock the next morning, we were ready to get on the road again. My husband asked the manager what kind of compensation we were going to get. He was very rude and disrespectful, chewing on his sandwich while talking and getting more and more aggravated. My husband told him we had lost a full day driving, it had cost us $40 in taxi cab, $84 for a motel, gas plus all the stress and aggravation. He said he wasnt going to give us anything except the taxi, the motel plus top up our gas tank, nothing from the $600 bill we paid the previous day. He said it was their mistake, but that it was a mistake and we didnt deserve anything else and if my husband persisted, we wouldnt get anything at all. We would not recommend this Service Station to anyone! If it werent for AAA(CAA) I dont know how we would have gone through this ordeal.

Dear Antoinette Bourque; I know traveling is often a frustration ordeal. Personally knowing the owners of Lake Service station I know that they go above and beyond the average repair shop to help people in distress. Depending on the vehicle replacing a radiator can be 2-6 hour repair and this does not include wait time needed to get the required parts. In my opinion, you were fortunate to be in the hands of Lake Service even though a complication arose 54 miles down the road. I do not know what time your car was towed in but even if it was early in the day most repair shops would not take on a repair such as yours last minute. With that said, chances are, if you were brought to another repair shop your vehicle would have been repair the following day requiring you and your family to spend the evening in a motel. The fact the the service writer was chewing on his sandwich leads me to believe that they were busy that day and working your repair in among other repairs which were scheduled they inadvertently failed to tighten a hose clamp. Even good humans make mistakes.

I had an issue with my car where my front axle locked up and AAA used this company for their service. The driver of the flatbed vehicle assessed the car and recommended another type of lift be used because he could potentially cause damage to the vehicle. He recommended another station to be used and to tell AAA the job wasnt completed. The next day, I received a call from AAA telling me that the reason my car wasnt towed was because I didnt sign a damage waver that I was never presented with. I told AAA that this was false and I had someone with me that can attest to this. The dispatcher/owner tried to convince me that I didnt sign the damage waver I was never given and when I attempted to explain to him what happened, he stated, "This conversation isnt going anywhere, he doesnt want to helped, this conversation is over" and hung up the phone on both AAA and me. There is nowhere in the world that kind of rudeness and behavior is acceptable or appropriate and I would never recommend this service center to anyone.

There are 20+ gas stations and plenty of service stations within 5-10 minutes of this place so why go here for the guaranteed headache? Ive been here around 10 times and have been supremely disappointed on more than half of those visits. My most recent trip here was my last, as the owner showed no semblance of cool, calm, and collect when I very reasonably and without offense voiced my frustration with their service. Rather than come to an understanding with a customer, he chose to berate me and literally chased me out of the station. When your ratings are all 1-star excluding one most likely written by an employee, that should be a hint as to the service to expect here.

Doesnt even deserved a star place is garbage trash and digusting worst people working there too attitude and lazy. Got driveshaft repaired took a whole week got the truck back drove it 20 mins up the street and drive shaft blew off the parts were picked up at a local hardware store as it looks I could of fixed it myself and paying so much money for a worthless job to be done I wouldnt even prefer them even if I got paid for it worthless and useless place . Worst customer service too hang up the whole everytime you call back and also no supervisor to talk to

The towing guy claim he didnt have any money to cross the Newburgh-Beacon bridge. So he lied took five dollars out of my pocket. Do not get them for towing.
