Holly is an index of knowledge with the soul of a flower child. Her ease and depth of understanding about all things hair allow her to give you, the customer, the experience of just relaxing into her care and trusting her instincts. I came in not 100% sure of what I was even asking for - I had long, brassy orange and yellow tresses that Id dyed with Henna for years and had, just that year, let go to reclaim my native golden blonde hue. Not realizing that Henna is foreva, Ive been struggling to get my hair past the sunkissed ginger look. Cute- but not really allowing me to go back to my natural hair color. Previous attempts at reputable salons left colorists stumped, and reaching for the red hair dye as a way to disguise the color, leaving me with the advise that I stay red, go dark, or cut it off. Holly created a gradual plan that will eventually allow me to be the blonde I was born with, without over processing, or frying my hair out. I left the salon feeling utterly pampered, like Id met a new friend, and impressed by her undeniable talent. Its lovely to be among someone who has the talent, drive and mindfulness to fully embody her craft.

Sadly, I am disappointed with the services I received here. I came in for bridal hair and makeup. The hair looked nice at the salon, but was not securely pinned so it began falling out within a couple of hours (others at the wedding pinned their own hair and it stayed put all evening). I had lashes put on here and in photos taken at the salon, I can clearly see that one is not even attached in the corner. Also, the glue is black and thick and far thicker on one side than the other. There was no blending whatsoever done as well. These mistakes cause my eyes to look asymmetrical and simply not good in my wedding photos. Being a bride, I had a lot on my mind that day. I really wish I would have looked closer in the mirror, but when you pay the high price I did for these services, you do expect a professional job. This was not.

I had such a fantastic experience at River Rock Salon in Lake Placid! I had my hair, make-up and nails done for my wedding and every aspect of my visit was professional, courteous, warm and welcoming! I am not from this area and had no opportunity to visit the salon before my wedding day so I put my faith in the hands of the ladies at the salon and they did not disappoint. My hair looked fantastic and so did my make-up. We were tight on time but they were able to squeeze in a manicure and made me look beautiful on my big day! Even though I do not live in the area I will certainly visit again to get my nails done or a blow out or to browse their beautiful jewelry selection. I would recommend River Rock Salon to anyone living in or visiting the Lake Placid area!

Where do I begin!! I look forward to going to see Holly and her AMAZING TEAM at River Rock Salon, when I have to get my Hair quaffed or my toes done!! She is the BEST in the Area and knows how to make you look & feel absolutely amazing!! My visit to this salon was great all around. All the staff are very friendly and the service was phenomenal! I wasnt sure how to describe what I wanted my hair to look like in regards to color and cut, but Holly was able to take my little clues and turn them into gorgeous results, and exactly what I wanted. I simply love my hair! Im hooked and I will be back again.

Have been a client for a few years now and love love love the salon. A little bit of Manhattan in Lake Placid Ny! I feel very comfortable at the salon and utilize all of their services. Its a GREEN space which is awesome! Super accommodating to my schedule and great product line. Ask for a glass of the peppermint water while they doll you up- the best!

River Rock is a wonderful local salon. My entire family gets their hair done there. Holly is a master with thick, out of control hair! Casey has a special way with kids, and Abby cuts my husbands hair to perfection. The entire staff at River Rock Salon is professional, and entertaining!

I love River Rock Salon! The customer service is outstanding and the staff is very friendly. Holly have cut and colored my hair for about 8 years now, and I am always very pleased with the results and receive lots of compliments. I cant imagine going anywhere else in Lake Placid.
