So I got worried about my (new) used car I bought from Watertown about a few weeks ago. (Currently living in Potsdam, NY but moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan soon) After taking it on a long trip to Cape Cod soon after buying it, the check engine light came on. I saw my "Next Service Due" sticker for an oil change so I figured I needed at least that, plus God knows what else. I had a buddy who knows cars much better than I do check it out for me before going to any local garage I didnt know I could trust. Well, my buddy says everything looked fine, just to be careful of the underneath frame rust. So, I look up reviews and find R&R and set up an early appointment with them the next week. I go in, I get a warm welcome, I get my car checked out. I was told first that the rust was merely average for a car as old as mine (a 2003) and shouldnt be a worry, unless I really wanted it done. Also, that my check engine light is on for a minor issue, easily fixable for around $140. Plus, it isnt a necessary fix- except for inspections. Michigan doesnt require them, and because Im moving in a few weeks, I dont necessarily need it. I decide it would be okay to hold off on that for now. They say OK and hand me a $32 bill for the oil change! THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING I DIDNT ASK and they gave me a great price. I absolutely recommend R&R auto for a friendly, intelligent, trustworthy place to get your car tuned up or fixed! They wont do you dirty.

Responsible & Respectable must be what R & R stands for. These guys really helped me out. I had transmission troubles with my 9 year old suburban and was 230 miles from home. I did a quick search for a respectable auto repair shop, and found this great shop. The day before the staff at Monroe in Potsdam tole me I had something in my drive shaft (rust) that was the problem and that I needed the transmission rebuilt. Monroe worked on the vehicle for two hours. The mechanic at R & R knew the problem was the rear universal joint after riding in the vehicle for only 10 seconds. The staff also was great when I explained that I was from out of town and needed the truck right away due to a family emergency. They pulled the vehicle they were working on out of the garage and had mine fixed with two new universal joints in under an hour, for a very reasonable price. I cant say enough positive about how great this place is. If you need automotive service in the Potdam or Canton area give R & R your business. You will not be disappointed.
