I have gone to this salon for massage, facials, and have tried it once before for hair coloring where the color was not what I liked after leaving the salon it was too dark. The stylist convinced me if I dont like it I can get her to do a few lighter pieces. I called to have my hair high lightened and didnt realize there would be a charge (not fond of this practice). I should have learned my lesson and have the stylist do the change right then and there. I recently went back (only because I loved Aveda coloring products) I consulted with a stylist and explained the color I wanted "Ombre with Bayalage" she and I talked about what I want done and since this design was new to me all I did was trust the stylist. She explained she has her way of doing the style. It went horribly wrong. She kept trying to explain to me that when I come back in a week or two it will be what I want. When I looked into the mirror I thought I was going to DIE. I looked like a cheap hooker. My so called "ombre" was done with 3" roots of my dark hair and my hair was lightened to such a point it looks orange. My hair could never look "ombre" after this mess. So instead of getting upset I decided to change my whole hair color cause there is no coming back from this. I told the stylist...I understand and it can be fixed...I was in shock. I wasnt expecting to pay $164 for this but what could I do. Everyone was rushing to clean up as if they were closing. The stylist did what she thought she could do. I dont fault her for that but next time if you are not comfortable doing a style PLEASE tell the customer, they rely on your expertise. I spoke to a few stylist from other salons over two days about this mess showed them pictures of before, after, and what it was suppose to be and the style should have been resolved that day in one appointment no matter what and not having the client return and for additional charge for needing to complete something that should have been done respectively in one sitting. I dont expect to have my money returned (I shouldnt have paid ) and I wont allow her to try and correct this. Acacia Aveda has lost a customer.

I went to this salon at the urging of a friend because I wanted to do a radical color change from black to blonde. While the service there is very friendly, the results were NOT ACCEPTABLE. Sarah Elizabeth left bleach in my hair for 4 hrs the first time and 2 1/2 hrs every other month I went for 8 months. I thought this was necessary to make such a drastic change. However a friend of mine who is a hairstylist was worried about how DRY AND FRAGILE my hair HAD BECOME. When I told her how long I sat with the bleach on my head, she said that it wasnt necessary. Sarah Elizabeth always booked me for three hours and spent most of the time in the break room. Once when she was on vacation another girl did my hair and had only booked me for two hrs, with the bleach on my hair for one hour. Still my hair was very dry and breakable. I again thought it was just a result of a drastic change and since my hair short I knew it would grow out soon. When I found out how NEGLIGENT this was I stopped going there. Now I have my hair done at Zinnia and was finished in 2 1/2 hours including cut. I recommend Zinnia highly. If you want to spend $259 and 5 hrs to get your hair done and chemically burned, go to Aveda otherwise try somewhere else!

I worked here for a short time .. at first this place seemed like a nice salon , until i started noticing a few things ... I am very knowledgeable with aveda products bc I did my schooling at aveda institute , this place has aveda bottles with sally products ... seen it first hand when the owner was filling up her back bar products with ion shampoo ... also leave all combs in barbicide and comb clients hair with barbicide dripping off the comb ... NEWSFLASH .... Milady chapter 5 barbicide is used to disinfectant for 10 minutes and never touch your skin ... And the COMMUNITY HAIR PICK ... they leave a hair pick at their back bar and they use it on all the clients ... no sanitization in between ... just gross.. head lice waiting to happen ... customers think theyre getting a cut above service but their being faked ... would never recommend this salon to anyone ...

I am new to the area and called to book a bikini wax. I asked in detail about who would be doing my service and what was there experience. I wasnt able to book with the girl who does the brazilian b/c of scheduling, but I was assured that the girl I was booking with was very good. (She is a hairstylist) Turned out to be an awful experience, and I am almost certain I was one of her first, if not her very first clients for a bikini wax, which is completely unacceptable. I used to run a spa and I will never return here. I felt like I was conned into giving this girl training on the job and had to pay for it. I waited a really long time on the table before she came into the room also. It was awkward and a painful and overall I do not trust managements judgment or training in appropriate staffing.

My experience was so bad that I joined Google+ to write my first review. I went for a haircut. I used their on-line booking system. No one ever got back to me with comments. I cancelled. They never got the cancellation, so when they called to confirm, it seemed like it would be okay to make the appointment. I cut off 12 inches of hair to donate to Locks for Love. I asked for a chin length bob (very common after these sorts of donations). I ended up with hair that was shorter than my bangs. NOT what I wanted. NOT even a little bit. This is the worst haircut of my life. I moved to the area and relied on the reputation of Aveda. I wish Id never walked through the door.

I have been a client of Sues for 30 years and have been going to Acacia Aveda since they opened. Every time I go in for an appointment, someone is always there to greet me and offer me something to drink. Sues expertise is truly unbeatable. At times, I will go in not knowing what to do with my hair and the suggestions she makes are always spot on. She just knows, like the Hair Whisperer...lol. Seriously though, the entire staff is fantastic, especially Shannon and Alice. All the girls are nice and pleasant and know exactly what they are doing and have a passion for it. That reminds me, I need to book my next appointment.

Both my daughter and I are clients of Amy Warne at Acacia Aveda Salon. We have always had a great experience. The front desk staff is professional and courteous. Our stylist, Amy, is knowledgeable and always does a fabulous job. She stays up to date with current color and style trends and does beautiful work. We adore her! The salon is well designed, tastefully decorated and smells WONDERFUL due to all the Aveda products. Going to Acacia is a fun, relaxing experience. Their services are pricey but we feel the service is worth it!
