Ive been looking for a new salon ever since I relocated to the Westchester area 2 years ago. After lacklustre results from several other salons I tried, I was hoping to have some success with Selah Salon because of the positive reviews I read on City Search. While I am picky about my hair, I went into my hair appointment with what I though would be an easy update for any stylist. I wanted my naturally dirty blonde hair lightened with some noticeably blonder highlights and the layers of my shaggy haircut shaped up. After a brief consultation with Lori, I thought we were on the same page. I even brought a picture of myself from a previous color job I liked as a point of reference. I ended up with the worst haircolor Ive ever had in my life and a pretty terrible haircut on top of that. She gave me terrible, stark white, chunky zebra stripes for the hair coloring and cut my hair into an unflattering, thinned-out bob that it is impossible to style now. I walked out of the salon feeling absolutely unattractive and dissatisfied having wasted nearly $200.00. I did not trust going back to this salon for a redo. I had to go to a drug store and buy some haircolor in a box to cover up the awful highlights. Even my style-challenged boyfriend thought it was the worst haircolor Ive ever received from a salon visit.

I cant speak for her bikini/brazilian waxing skills, but as a man, going into a salon can be a quite trying experience. I had a back wax with Jackie less than a week ago, and from her welcoming smile, honest and truthful approach, she handled it with professionalism and made it as enjoyable as the process can be. Jackie keeps a conversation going, handles the work in an efficient yet careful manner, and makes sure you are happy with her work all the way through. Even when I made suggestions for her business and design of the establishment, Jackie was approachable and seemed to care. Even on the phone, I called twice (once to make my appointment and once to push it back an hour) Jackie was helpful and informative all the way through the process. I have nothing but compliments. She provided information on how to care for the back, possible side effects (i.e. breaking out) and how to avoid them, and didnt seem to be trying to push through appointments. she took her time and it was appreciated.

I was looking for a place that was near to home to get my brazilian done and I did a google search and found Selah, I read the reviews and they were very encouraging. So I made the appt. I am soooo Happy with the results I cant stop looking at it :). Jackie did the "operation" lol It took about 15mins if that much, now I am not going to say it didnt hurt but she really did mininize the pain alot. I had 2 other waxes the last one the person that did it left soo much hair on and it hurt like freaking hell When Jackie said she was done I was like oh boy there must be hair down there .. NOPE it was a real Brazilian I LOVE IT... Thanks Jackie see you in 5 weeks :)

Had high hopes with all of the great review. I have GREAT long brown curly hair. I needed the roots done and a simple cut. Alex who said she was an expert with curls....not, made my roots lighter than the rest of my hair and said she was undercutting my curls. It would make then bounce and separate. I had soccer MOM hair. I had to wear it in a bun to hide the mess for a month. The place itself is nice. Alex is a nice person, but should not misrepresent what she can and can not do.

I walked in with my girlfriend and was impressed immediately. Offering us a drink, and advice on how to keep her hair more healthy. They gave us names and product information informing us of diffrent ways to strengthen and straighten her hair. Then they gave my girlfriend an Olaplex treatment and advice for a titanium hair iron. They trimmed her dead ends without cutting off 6" like other places I have seen. I would recommend this place to others. But Im a guy so what does that mean?

I went here for a wax and I absolutely loved it! I made an appointment and still wound up having to wait about 20 minutes, but Jackie made it well worth the wait. She makes you feel so comfortable, and was such a great waxer. I will definitely return here, so I give it a thumbs up

I found this salon by chance, and I will never go anywhere else again. They have the atmosphere, service, skill, and most importantly the creativity to be top notch professionals. They dont just cut hair, they make art.

This is a beautiful salon full of friendly helpful people who really know what theyre doing. I just got the nicest waxing in my life and I felt so comfortable the whole time, not awkward at all.
